ED I think we need to rebuild from the ground up, starting with a new board, a director of football, a new scouting system, a data analysist. Then we can start behaving like a modern football club. They way things are being run it's like we are back in yhe Kelly's and the Whites Regime.
We all know what happened there. If the only way for the board to take notice is to cut the money to the club then the Not Another Penny campaign should run until there has been a regime change.
{Ed007's Note - I've been saying the same thing for 15 years mate but as long as we're top dogs in Scotland you get accused of moaning when you bring it up, the sad part is that the board are matching the level of some supporters ambition so they're happy to just accept the managed decline of the Club. As long as they get to laugh at their TRIFC supporting friends everything's tickety boo.

ED do you think losing the league title would maybe change things at the club or do you believe the board are that up them self's that nothing will ever change, it's a scary thought.
{Ed007's Note - I can't see it happening this season but if/when Celtic don't win the league it'll be a freak outcome like when PSG or Bayern Munich don't win their leagues and we know that's when DD usually pushes the boat out, to be top dogs in Scotland at least.
It's a ludicrous situation for a Club like Celtic to be in, you'd think the people running it, sitting on OUR millions would want the same as a lot of the support do, to be the best that we can we be. We have became what Murray set out for Rangers to be, imagine the shoe was on the other foot/wheel, would they be stockpiling money keeping their rivals relevant?
We paid more in tax on our profits this year than we have ever spent on a player.}

Up to 40,000 fans pulling out of the home ticket scheme would be a massive statement.
It's something that could easily be built again at the snap of a finger.

Yes the ideal scenario would be a functioning DOF/ Scouting Dept/ Manager all on the same page, with a BoD willing to back the footballing decisions, within budget.
The BoD need to have a more pro-football approach and give the football management team a budget more in line with our club size and income.
E. g. a given percentage of annual turnover/ profit, including player trading profit, should be reinvested into football operations. That still allows for increases to cash in bank, while ensuring the football operation is properly run and funded. Once budget agreed, the BoD should have no further say on how it is spent.
We need to get away from this penny-pinching/ pound foolish approach to transfers and recruitment. Manager identifies positions and player types he needs, scouting network to identify who's available and the DoF to liaise between both, using BoD sanctioned budget to best effect.
Unfortunately, the money men on our BoD appear to be control freaks and this is severely holding back the playing side of our club. Will it ever change?
{Ed007's Note - Plus ca change.....

Honestly it's scary how behind the times we are considering the money we generate and stockpile as a club it's embarrassing and negligent by the board. Watch a podcast the other day and ' data analysis ' was a hot topic, apparently we had a boy over from South America who was judged not good enough, when asked for the data to allow the lad to assess what went wrong Celtic Fc claimed it had gone missing turns out we never had it to provide and that was just a lie to save face, now that for me if true is just embarrassing for a club like ours and those involved should hang there heads in shame.

Its crazy, we don't have to or need to spend huge sums of money to comfortably sit top of our league and do better in Europe, however our board do not understand that or choose not to listen.
Every now and again panic spending is not a wise or clever business plan.
Improving the team year on year is easily achievable at a club our size but our masters have a differing view on the future of our club.
It beggars belief how they are downgrading the quality of the team, which has the potential to backfire at some point and a season of qualifying for the Conference league will be in our future.
If they are genuine supporters and want the best for the club, running it just to be the best in a poor league shows a total lack of ambition.
Even if Nancy gets a tune out of this team, few of the players we have will leave for big money.
We have no short-term strategy let alone a long-term one.
Our young players are being picked off by the top 5 leagues and we try to buy young talent from foreign leagues. For all concerned that is a bizarre situation.
We have no chance of moving to EPL or a super league so why did MN say they wouldn't increase ground capacity as long as we are in the SPFL, if they are refusing to spend the money needed to make money in the CL.
