I see that Rod Stewart has signed up to do a remembrance day concert, to remember all armed forces both past and present. ?

Let's hope our fans know what we think of him when he turns up at Celtic park.

{Ed007's Note - On another freebie.... another thing Fergus McCann should be utterly ashamed of. Free season tickets for life for opening the North Stand 30 years ago, Frod had never set foot inside Celtic Park in his life, he grew up an Arsenal supporter then jumped the wall to support Man Utd before deciding he could make money off supporting Celtic. He's one of the last in his seat and one of the first ones out to make sure he get his full quota of hospitality free food and more importantly drink. The stench of steak pie off him is stinking up the joint.}

His values and politics would be more aligned with another club in Glasgow.

{Ed007's Note - Well he has worn their kit...?

Av mentioned it before Edd am sure he declined about £50/ 100k to open the stand and in return for the tickets and hospitality, not keen on the guy and get embarrassed by his antics.

{Ed007's Note - ??

I personally wouldn't wear a poppy but
I have no problem with rod Stewart or any
Other Celtic fan wearing one .

There's a element within the Celtic fanbase
Who think they can decide who is and who isn't a worthy Celtic fan . Well I'm I'm afraid there
Isn't a one size fits all prototype .

And we are going down a dark road if
Someone who doesn't agree with every view
Of some they should not be welcome at Celtic.

Im proud to ware my poppy. I've had family that fought and died in both wars. Also so have Celtic.
Joe Cassidy, Bernard Connolly, Willie Cringan, Joe Dodds, John Jackson, Peter Johnstone, Frank Kelly, Andrew McAtee, Pat McCabe, Tom McGregor, John Mclaughlin, John McMaster, Joe O'Kane and Bill Ribchester just to name a few. ??.

So you think it is ok to pay respect to people who committed genocide, raped, tortured, killed innocents, etc?

09 Nov 2025 12:04:35
Aye because all soldiers are involved in that ain't they. I suppose the IRA never did anything like that then.

{Ed007's Note - The IRA weren't a government sponsored/owned killing machine were they? Look up the Batang Kali massacre, read about who "invented" concentration camps as used by the Nazis, read about the Briggs Plan in Malaysia and the Headhunters in Borneo. Do you have any idea what the British Army done in Kenya and that's before we even get to Ireland. Then we have Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan.....
But, but but The Ra....

There is absolutely no chance in hell I would wear a poppy even tho my late grandfather fought in both wars . its people's choice if they want to wear one to respect the fallen in the two wars which I have no problem with . But being a Celtic fan from the six counties there is absolutely no chance any Celtic fan from here would wear a poppy to celebrate the crown forces who served here during the troubles.

That's my take on it but like I said its everyone's own choice .

That's my take on it paddycelt I personally wouldn't wear one but I wouldn't condemn someone who did.
