some may call them projects But for us fans who haven’t really seen them play that doesn’t mean that some of them may not become more than decent Celtic first team players from the start of the season.
We have regularly seen established players arrived with good reputations and leave without playing more than a handful of games.
Newly signed players can surprise us by been be better than we thought or disappoint us by been worse.

You can look at them as projects, investments or whatever. It is part and parcel of running a successful football club, where we do not have the revenue streams south of the border.
Some will make a good profit, some will break even and some we will lose money on. Very few will become legends, but that’s the modern game.
Personally I like the model and it gives me a sense of pride knowing we develop players. Even more so that the Champions of the EPL currently have 3 ex-Celtic players in the squad.

Projects and player development are important, but so is building and maintaining a first rate quality first team squad that improves season by season.

Doohan was 4th choice when we first let him go for not being good enough.

I've got to admire Doohan. When he was here first he was battling it out with Conor Hazard but left after that and they kept Hazard on instead. I can recall Doohan saying when he was at Parkhead that his ambition was to be No 1. After spells elsewhere he's back at PH and it clearly shows the desire and confidence he has in himself. He may never get to be No1 but he may get the odd game and if he does it'll be what he set out to get.

DRB my point was just that he's not a project. He's 3rd choice keeper. I'm not sure what sort of level people expect for a third choice keeper. His job will literally be to train.
