People getting over excited about our "early" business? We talk the game but we ain't signed anyone! I belive we will sign quality in wide areas, possibly in defence, and maybe in midfield. BUT if we let lennon Miller go elsewhere and not convince him his next development is here for at least 3 years then I don't really care who else we sign. The top local talent of a generation and we should be offering 8m if that what it takes.

As much as I would like to sign Miller, ask yourself this.
If the fee being quoted is 10 million, do you think we should buy him or do you think we can get more for our money elsewhere?
{Ed007's Note - I don't think the initial fee will be that high, maybe with add-ons it could reach that but look at it this way, the £4.4 million we paid for 23-year old Scott Brown in 2007 is the equivalent of £7.5 million today, at 18-years old Scott Brown had played 4 first team games for Hibs.}

Motherwell will be desperate to sell him this summer because he can sign a pre contract in January and they would only receive a low training compensation fee.
I don’t think Motherwell will get as much as some people think due to leaving it too late to sell him.

It will be down to him and his advisors if he wants to come to us, to win trophies, play in CL and have 60,000 singing his name, or go to Sunderland and get relegated next year.
It will be interesting if ant Series A teams come in for him.
If we want him, we cannot make a silly offer, offer what he is worth show him we want him.
{Ed007's Note - I said the same thing the other day MIP, Lennon could play here for 5 years and still only be 24ish, hopefully with a choice to go and make us & him millions or stay and go onto become a replacement for guys like CalMac, Forrest, KT & Ralston in the future. The old saying about the jersey doesn't shrink has never been more appropriate in recent years, does Lennon have the minerals to take on the challenge of being a Celtic player, he could go on and be as much of a legend as Brown or Calmac but there's going to be some weight on his shoulders from a lot of fans for the next couple of years if he does sign for us.
Surely, like us all, as a young Celtic fan sitting in the stands watching games he dreamt of running out at Celtic Park wearing the Hoops, well now he has the chance.
If gametime is the issue, are Sunderland going to play or rely on a 19-year old SPFL level player every week in the Pub League in their inevitable relegation battle?}

I think wherever he goes, he will not be an immediate starter for a while but if he comes to us he will be in our squad, learning from good players, a top Manager and playing when he gets the chance and importantly winning trophies.
He will also get CL experience and exposure, if that's what he wants.
We have all said we need another broonie, he could be that player.
It is down to how he sees his next step and if he listens to the noise that is ex-sevco players saying the last place he needs to come to is us.
{Ed007's Note - ????

He won't be going to Sunderland.

Reports suggest Nygren fee (£1.7M) and personal terms have been agreed.
We're apparently looking again at the winger from Royal Antwerp, as well as the Scottish midfielder from West Ham.
I haven't seen or read anything recently on young Lennon Miller, are we still interested/ is it a done deal (as some on here have previously pointed out) ?
I'm in the group that would like to sign him, he ticks a bunch of boxes and can only improve at CP, particularlyuder BR. The John McGinn scenario is still in my mind as the one who got away, I don't want to see us losing out on another young, talented Scottish player
Time will tell but, as ever, there will be a few twists and turns during the course of this transfer window.

Due to his age and competition at CP would it hinder his development if we bought him and loaned him back to Motherwell so we don't lose him? Get him back a year later, having a bit more maturity, challenging for a first team place.
{Ed007's Note - Last summer I would have agreed with you but if we were going to buy him and loan him out I'd like to see him go a bit better than Motherwell and we don't know what this new manager of their is like.}

I think if he comes to us, we use him in a pairing like BR wants over the pitch, where a position is shared by 2 players, each getting good game time. It maintains the intensity in each position across a season.
To buy him and loan him to any other SPL club won't really develop him and challenge him the way coming to us will imo.

When we buy a player whether it is £3m - £6 m or £8m, we are not a high flying EPL club verging on breaking UEFA ‘s fair play rules . We nee that player in our playing squad helping the team . If he isn’t good enough to play at least some of the time with us, then I wonder what all the talk is.
