Any thoughts on Andy Robertson (31) got another 2-3 years in him comfortably. Would it be worth a punt and KT moving into left CB with CCV as his partner? Thoughts?
He definitely would give it his all for the club.

The height of our first choice defence would be too small.
Our tallest defender would only be 6 foot and our other 3 defenders would be all under 5 ft 10in.

Certainly buzz bomb, our defence would be targeted by every team in SPL . Many may think our defence is weak this season, but compared to this wee defence, we would be regarded as water tight this season.

Buzz boy, All good players don’t necessarily build a good defence . The defence has to play as a unit, it must be able to command or defend the threat in the air as well as intricate ground movement . If a defence has an apparent weakness in air opponents will attempt to pressurise us in the air .

Not for me. As it stands teams throw the ball into our box and with a smaller defence we would really struggle.
I get frustrated as it is, because we don't really cut out a lot of crosses or prevent them getting put in, in the first place. Our left and right backs seem to allow a lot of balls getting put into our box.
We can have 80% of the ball but some teams have shown that if they throw a couple if crosses into our box over the 90 minutes, they can create chances.
At times last season our box defending gave me the fear.
We need taller, more physical players who can defend and play a pass.
Also his wage would be too high.

@Buzz - what damage would another five inches do? lol.
In the greater scheme of things it's how you would use your height to your advantage, such as timing, reading the flight of the ball and then distribution etc. If BR wants the team to play out from the back then mobility rather than just height would suit him better.

So basically Des believes that it doesn’t matter they’re all good players because we would get punished in the air.
But Stengo believes that height doesn’t matter as long as they can time their jump.

You can get away without height in your back four if you have at least 3/ 4 between midfield and attacking players who can stand tall and defend set pieces . I have no doubt Tierney and Johnston along with CCV can deal with most balls played in, in open play as we have players putting the opponents under pressure and preventing them from getting good crosses and other balls into bench, but as I say set pieces allow opponents to get quality balls in which can cause a lot of danger.

I don’t think KT is comfortable playing a central role in a flat back 4 defence.
He would maybe get away with playing in a back 3 which we don’t play.
Last season Celtic only usually played with one defender who was Over 6ft tall but that wouldn’t be the case if we play KT at left CB.

I don’t think we have had a good record signing very good Liverpool defenders coming towards end of playing career . Frank McGarvey attacking player signed in 1980 did well . However Gary Gillespie and Henchoz were both disappointing.
