Y'know, the older I get and the more players I see come and go, the more I reflect on how fortunate I was to see Jinky and Henrik.
Jinky really loved the Celtic which explains his long service, but Henrik had no ties to us. He gave us his best years for which I am eternally grateful.

I pray maeda stays for the remainder of his career. If he does he will become a club icon like henrik and jinky. he's a joy to watch and we will never see his likes again with what he brings to the team. Desmond needs to make him our top earner.
Its hard to believe he's the same age as henke was when we signed him and he is only going to get better.

It's also his mentality that needs to be acknowledged and for the coaching staff giving him the tools to develop that. Also, the players who are giving him what he wants where he wants it.
Add in Johnston, CCV, Hatate, Kuhn, Jota and Engels to see something very right is happening at CP.

I feel the same as I will be 69 next month and grew up watching Jinky and 'The Lions' and believing we had the best team in the world. Plenty have came and went and I even remember a cruel segment in one of our fanzines called 'They shamed the Hoops' targeting those who's time at Celtic was somewhat mixed, to say the least.
However to have seen the likes of Jinky and some of his team-mates, Dalglish, McStay, Lubo and Larsson (to name a few) make our club that bit special. Long may it continue.

I don’t think agents are as honest and as beneficial as they could be to the players they have on their books . I think they should use well respected impartial football experts who should be talking to individual players maybe twice a year discussing with player how useful he is to his current team and how beneficial his colleagues are to him, and whether he could expect the same help at each of the clubs who are interested in him . Too often players are transferred to the club that out bids others and offers good terms to player. The selling club getting most money is pointless for player, also if manager of buying club is in a risky position, then player may need independent advice . Players career can nose dive at least temporary, after poor choice of new club . The best deal for a player can often be signing new contract at club he is currently at. When a club unearths a player who turns out better than expected, club should do their utmost to make player as happy as they can, not only improved wages but help with sponsorship and media work including training and development.

Wee Jimmy wasn’t the only long serving Lisbon Lion, we had King Billy and wee Bobby Lennox .
There many great Celts at that time who wanted to stay longer, but it was typical of how players were treated then . Big Jock decided he didn’t want them any longer and the players had really no say . Many of us were disappointed to see them go . We had great replacements in D H, G C, L Mac B M C C& K D . It wasn’t long until the youngsters left and our Glory days at the top of World football were over.
