I saw that the manager of the Palestine national team would like to play a friendly against Celtic.
This would be a great gesture from our club if we obliged and donated all proceeds to the Palestinians.
That being said, while our supporters would back it, I can't see our board going against the Zionists.

David Low gave our board criticism in a podcast last week, for not getting our supporters or club.

Wee Joe. I wouldn't back it.
{Ed007's Note - Why not?}

@Buzz, David Low has been a good listen and knows his stuff when it comes to finance and Celtic.

@9iar That is your choice and if the game were to happen you could choose not to go. However, I would go, as would thousands of others.

This my view and maybe or maybe not the view of others. I don't sit comfortably having a rich vein of politics running through my club. I want to go and watch a game between two clubs happily leaving politics to politicians.
{Ed007's Note - It's because of the politics & politicians at the time that the Club was founded.}

That’s the point that David Low was making last week Ed ?.
{Ed007's Note - I've not listened to it yet but I've read snippets on social media.}

From the Shamrock. net:
“The main objective of the club is to supply the East End conferences of the St. Vincent de Paul Society with funds for the maintenance of the ‘Dinner Tables’ of our needy children in the Missions of St Mary’s, Sacred Heart, and St. Michael’s. Many cases of sheer poverty are left unaided through lack of means. It is therefore with this principle object that we have set afloat the ‘Celtic’, and we invite you as one of our ever-ready friends to assist in putting our new park in proper working order for the coming football season. ”
Whether this was done through a background of politics - the British Government not recognising the Scottish/ Irish Catholics - I don't know but poverty and charity - something had to be done to feed the children and unemployed in the West of Scotland.

I get the suffering of the Palestinians but without getting deep into stuff on a football forum, I believe one side is as guilty as the other and I hate, absolutely detest all this Pro Palestinian and anti Israel stuff.
All that said, I'm a proud Celtic supporter and in a football context, stand shoulder to shoulder with you all.
