The January transfer window has always been a tough window to sign anyone in, clubs are reluctant to let players leave and if they do, they want an inflated transfer fee.
I think it looks more likely that a striker will come in on loan until the summer, then we look again then to sign someone then.
Not overly impressed with the scouting set up so far, there must be several decent strikers out there between 7 -10 million, surely they must have identified a few targets.
I will keep the faith that there will be positive news on the transfer front before the window shuts.

February's schedule looks to be another packed fixture list and we need to have the squad re-enforced to cover the weaknesses or all the good work done in the first half of the season comes under pressure.

We had no problem flogging our top striker for a knock down price.
There is deals to be had if you look in the right places.

I don't care if it is difficult and I am sure many of our fans won't either.
If you sell your top striker in the middle of a season and you knew about it 6 months ago, you had better get a good replacement in or there will be hell to pay from the fans and the manager.

Clubs are reluctant to let players leave?, unless it's us, never seen any club shove a player out the door as fast as Celtic did with Kyogo .

Derry Tim, normally you post very sensible posts, that illustrates a good understanding of game, but the idea of us flogging a striker for a knock down price is certainly a blip in your fine contributions .
Board nor Manager could hold on to striker who changed his agent in summer to a selling agent who first of all had Man City buying him and then he dictated the Rennes deal . For Celtic to get £10m for a striker who missed four times what he score this season was magnificent . He was referred to as 1 in 5 earlier .
His first game for Rennes didn’t bring fans to their feet, he had a record least touches of ball in his debut, for any player playing more than 60 mins.
