Hi Ed I've heard a rumour with the Saudis buying jota he is going to be loaned out to Newcastle have you heard anything on this cheers mate.
{Ed007's Note - I thought it was the Jota from Liverpool they are after but I said when Jota did go to Saudi would he end up at one of their other clubs in a season or two in a financial bit of shenanigans by the owners.
Is Jota good enough for a top level Pub League team - which Newcastle see themselves as now and are striving to prove it even though geography and, well basically the city lets down the allure. Have you ever been to Newcastle?

???????? yes Ed I've been to Newcastle. I used to go every year for about 5 years. I played football for the redbrae in Kirkintilloch from 2003 until 2012 and remember going to Newcastle against Reading think it was 2008 2009 great atmosphere but nothing like the famous celtic Park. all I heard all weekend was cannot bag a chowder ???.
{Ed007's Note - ??? My dad used to get jobs taking old cars - like in The Untouchables and old American films - down to a place in Newcastle years ago to get refurbished and the place terrified me as a kid - then we went to Burnley!
Burnley is like another world/dimension to anything else in my life I've encountered and my mum and her family are from Larkhall. ??

I’ve only been to St. James once and it was with the football team at Easter about 94/ 95.
We were in the old enclosure and that’s where I think the TV Canaras are now.
Peter Beardsley scored a cracker of a free kick

Does anybody know the sell on % for Jota? I would love him to go to Newcastle and if he performed, which he would, he could be sold for a lot more than £25m and we could increase our return. It’s probably just bull, but if he was loaned to any Prem team it increases the chances of a larger wedge coming our way.

As I've stated the reason I think he is a snake as what he demanded/ asked for regarding revamp of Lennoxtown and barrowfield all was approved . he has more backing than any previous managers and to an extent more free reign he comes as an unknown more or less. but to make statements like someone else was favourite for Tottenham job etc when he knew full well what was happening doesn't sit well with me.

I don't like singling out players but I can't help but to think if Scott brown was our captain these players wouldn't get away with these performances and he would get more out of them. I think mcgregor is a good player but he can't get them motivated the way brown would.
{Ed007's Note - You get 2 types of captain imo, a blood, guts & thunder type who will be screaming at players, flying into tackles and a general moaning faced git like Roy Aitken and Neil Lennon or you get a captain that leads by example like Paul McStay, Tam Boyd or Paul Lambert - this season CalMac has been neither.
I've been a massive critic of CalMac playing in Europe but this season he has been just as bad domestically.
Does he need a break to recharge the batteries, does the tactics or his own in game instructions need tweaked to get him back to his best?
That miss today from him was absolutely shocking.}

I think you've got it spot on emphasising "this season" Ed. He's been great the past couple of years but he's been a shadow of himself since Rodgers came back.

Funny enough I think I have seen u criticise Cal Mc G.
I think captains and Managers look good when their players are driving on and at least look like trying . When we struggle this season we are really in trouble
IMO our centre midfield is either over run or by - passed . Often in the first half when we are piling on pressure like today, we don’t notice lack of bodies in midfield. MO’R goes further and further up the pitch in I search of elusive goal . with Idah and Kyogo a front 2. When it comes to the 2nd half our opponents gain confidence and our defence have a siege like appearance . We shouldn’t have teams putting ball after ball into our area without us able to regain procession . Is it our missing midfield or is there another reason . Our captain and manager are powerless trying to get midfield going when we have neither the player or the workers competing
I would go without any wingers and play a second line of four in front of back four . Flexible enough to allow 2 to back up attack and two to prevent opponents over loading our back four . We may have to grab someone from our youths to play up front, because we need to double our goals scored compared to our last 5/ 6 matches.

Ed apart from the game against the rangers were I thought he was outstanding. I have watched him closely and feel as if he slows down the play too much and plays back instead of trying to get his head up and attack. I also feel that he doesn't take the game by the scruff of the neck when we need him to and gee the players up.
{Ed007's Note - That's it, HOL, what does he really do week in week out for the team? He's like a lynchpin/cog (is that right?) in a machine that just keeps things ticking over without actually producing anything, the majority of time he just keeps the ball moving for the sake of it instead of trying to create. He should be the player that is getting the ball, looking up and seeing what the options are whereas half the time you can predict where the ball is going before it's eve reached him, a pass back to where it's came from or just a touch off to another CM as if he is passing the buck. I used to say when Brown was here he needed to give the ball to CalMac more often to let him be the main playmaker and now the CBs are our main playmakers, it's a bizarre scanario/tactic, our midfielders aren't being allowed to be complete midfielders in this Celtic team.
Is he "scared" to try and create in case it doesn't come off for him? Is the captains armband weighing him down?}

I was never a fan of CalMac taking over as captain, not hindsight, I've said this consistently on here since Brown left.
Whilst I agree there are different types of characters/ players who lead their teams with equal amounts of success, I just don't see the characteristics required in CalMac's make up.
When the chips are down he goes into his shell, IMO he does not have the strength or balls required to dig Celtic teams out of a bad situation.
This season has clearly not helped his case but if there was ever a time where a captains contribution was needed then this is it.
I wouldn't want him next to me in the trenches.

I am writing this as someone who has followed celtic all their life and a suporter who wants what's best for the club if you are as you say you are a celtic suporter brendan do the decent thing and leave our club, you have in roughly 9 months ruined our style of play and turned us in to a team that looks amateurish. And to celebrate like that at the end is embarrassing. I hate the board and you for what yous have both made this club look like a laughing stock .

The only difference with this one is he is already established with the Croatian team and look at juranovic for example he came to celtic and was not shunned or dropped for playing in Scotland not everyone thinks like the pub league if you don't play in a league that they define as a top 5 league you shouldn't play for their country.

We can blame refs and var all day long but the truth is wee are a shambles from board room to manager to on field playing staff and we don't deserve to win the league based on all of the above. I've said it before how have we let them across the town get anywhere near us we should be at least 10 years ahead of them. and before anyone hits me with our club are run well at what cost because we don't compete in Europe anymore when we play we are second in the league to a mediocre 2012 club who are going for a treble let that sink in .
