Anybody heard anything about Roberts signing on a permanent?

Guys, i have said on several occasions that Roberts is the guy we want to get on a permanent deal. He is here, can see the set up, and is getting game time ( and I know that`s part of the loan deal ) . Mt thoughts are that, he will get little or no game time in the 1st team regardless of how well he does at CP.

Im sure a deal can be done and I know that any transfer will be a bucket load ( and a lorry load by our standards ) .
So to the powers that be:
You got us the Manager and a few players to boot,
now get us the star and spend some of your loot.

For me it's also a priority signing. Got a contract till 2020 and city payed 12 million back then so unfortunately can't see that happening. Would be well invested money we could ask for.

City are trying to get young English talent though due to epl restrictions and with brexit the epl can enforce the 5 foreigners rule as uk won't fall under eu employment laws.

IMO I don't think BR will be looking at trying to get Roberts on a permanent until the next window as we have him already so I think he will try to get a player in on a position he feels is weak and hope to progress to the last 16 then try MC out for a permanent basis.

For me if possible we make Roberts signing our top priority, getting him on a long term contract, knowing the talent he has at such a young age, his value will soar n 4 me he would b a certain starter always.
I'd have him on a permanent if it meant nobody else coming in I rate him that highly.
He could easily score 15 to 20 a season n assist some amount 2.

For me that is a risky strategy. There were already talks/ rumours that Villa and Newcastle were interested in buying him late last season.

If we want him we have to do it now as after he tears it up for another 6 months there will be a queue of teams willing to give him twice the money we can.

Im the same Jim. Ill admit I've been highly critical of him and i think he has deserved it with his massive drop in form bud i think we are a bit short in the dm area and i hope one of the two coming in will cover that unless ajer looks ready to go right in. We have plenty of options for attacking players now and only cifti for a new striker would finish that off for me. Commons sticking around for his final year doesn't help free wages or space.

He is fast, strong and can carry the ball up the park. Bit of a fud and and an overpaid one at that. To be fair i think he could do a job being used on the wing if he can find form. don't think he will want leave england and not for half the wage he is getting now.

Well he set his own standards rglen, and although he may not have replicated them, I thought he was overly criticised from certain sections. Being booed off the pitch was just un-called for, but I think he was seen as Deila's pet or something like that. We know the player he can be. We need to be ruthless in trimming the squad though.

Griffiths has a problem with his hamstring's which he has been nursing for a couple of week's, that's how he's been subbed after an hour in the last couple of games, he didn't train this morning let's hope it was just as a precaution and he's okay to play.

Kris Commons has one goal and no assists in the CL, including qualifiers. There are younger players with much better ratios than that.

BR likes a high pressing game, players with energy and pace, Commons has neither.

Generally, his shoot on sight policy is as detrimental as it is beneficial.

He's a bit of a rat in terms of squad dynamics and putting himself first.

Not for me, Commons is a one trick pony. He had one GREAT season other than that he is average and doesn't make the bench either in my squad? He became a little to arrogant and his actions last season on and off the field have led to his situation imo.

IMO Commons ego took over his talent a long time ago and BR has seen what a lot of the fans have both in Commons and Efe. Just not right for us. Although, not using up his full quota for CL registration is a strange one. I can only think there might be a late card coming in and the space is temporarily vacant. Not sure if we can add, maybe Ed can clarify.

It's well documented that Commons is disruptive and moody, but after failing to off-load him (while getting shot of Johansen and Allen) , it means we are stuck with each other for at least 4 more months.
If he is willing to knuckle down in training, he may well get a few domestic appearances in the teams busy schedule, otherwise he will just run-down his contract.
There were a few 'bad apples' in the dressing room under RD, but Commons seems to have carried the can and although his Celtic career may be over, he did very well and scored some very important goals over his entire time with Celtic.

{Ed007's Note - Commons, who's had problems with every manager he's worked under, started causing problems at the Club 6 months after signing. Remember in his first full season he fell out with Lennon, was stripped of penalty duties and spat the dummy out, he deliberately got himself sent off at Tynecastle and managed a paltry 1 goal in 33 matches.
Then during preseason 2012/13 Pedro and Lennon held talks with Commons and the Club started to massage his ego and allow his wife to use the Club as her own personal publicity vehicle - next thing you know Commons and his wife are telling anyone who will listen how great life at Celtic was while she was bombarding the media and magazines offering up paid interviews by them as a couple or individually. She seen them as the Posh and Becks of Scottish football.
Neil Lennon has spoken about how he had to adapt the team and his tactics to accommodate Commons, unless a manager does that then Commons is extremely ineffective, Brendan Rodgers will not accept a lazy player in his team and Commons would mess up his entire high pressing game.}

Commons isn't good enough to play in Brendan's team, nor was he to play in rd's team either as he's just too slow n greedy, a fast attacking, high pressing game, which all the forward thinking managers are doing n commons can't play this way so that's as simple as it gets. Did well at times 4 us but over the whole period caused too many problems 4 2 many people, rogic is already a better player so I don't get the clamour 4 commons.
