Hey Ed I've seen the papers are continuing to roll with the Nagbe lad from Portland Timbers story and have apparently just signed a replacement. Do you think there might be a bit of substance to it. Or the papers just putting 2-2 together?

Tompo88

{Ed007's Note - Portland Timbers previous statement that Nagbe isn't for sale still stands as far as I know.}

1.) 27 Dec 2016 04:29:04
In today's paper that we have pulled out of a deal.

29 Aug 2016 14:17:25
Apparently Cristian Gamboa is in Glasgow for talks and due a medical soon. Anyone seen much of him? Know he's fast, but is he any better defencewise?

Tompo88

1.) 29 Aug 2016 14:46:05
(In the jungle the mighty jungle. )

He's our right back, goes forward, gets back. He's Cristian Gamboa.
He's no pretender, he's our defender.
He's Cristian Gamboa.

Ooooooooohhhhh Cristian Gamboa, oh Gamboa Oh Gamboa Oh Gamboa.

2.) 29 Aug 2016 15:23:13
Remember him from playing in Norway, wasn't just fast, he was bloody fast!
He was OK for Rosenborg, the previous bloke that was able to hold down the right back position was none other than our Lustig, he was never too brilliant for Rosenborg either. (notably better after he signed with us) .

Not sure how much of a defender that comparison makes him. but he should be able to get down the line and cross the ball in front of the goal if nothing else.

3.) 29 Aug 2016 15:23:17
Dear dear dear HL7 lol.

4.) 29 Aug 2016 15:37:57
No disrespect HL7 but that's ****ing terrible.

5.) 29 Aug 2016 15:52:18
Guys Cristian Gamboa name in glasgow is known as "Christ son" he's fast. He has a message for Joey ( i'm the best there is Barton) .
2 letters on the front ( HI) and back (BY) . this guy is so so fast

lol.

6.) 29 Aug 2016 15:57:31
he was part of costa rica team in world cup that made it to the quarter final in world cup and he's really fast and goes up field alot, i havnt really watched him i just researched him as soon as i heard the news and he seems a good fit for the hoops, that's hoping hahaha.

7.) 29 Aug 2016 15:59:23
but just wondering how much he cost, i read somewhwere that he was priced at 1million.

8.) 29 Aug 2016 16:00:17
HL7 MURDER.

9.) 29 Aug 2016 16:14:43
Lawell and Park scraping the bottom of the barrel again for average players.

This guy can't even get a game for WEST BROM!

10.) 29 Aug 2016 16:49:01
I remember that world cup he was one of the top points scoring defenders in the sun dream team comp so he must be good 😀 🍀🍀.

11.) 29 Aug 2016 16:51:22
He isn't getting a game for west brom because he is a defender who isn't 6 ft plus. The fact tony pulis doesn't rate him is a good sign. he's a guy who once built his team around a player whose of only skill was shying the ball 40 yards.

12.) 29 Aug 2016 16:56:47
Big Bhoy what has that got to do with anything?
Plenty very good players can't get into the squads in England right now because of the money being flashed around.

13.) 29 Aug 2016 17:40:57
Looks a good player. Whenever you doubt a player, think Janko. :)

14.) 29 Aug 2016 17:51:32
People keep going on about how much is he costing, And blaming PL and Park for this.

Would it make a difference if we spent £6 million on him and I personally don't think BR would have any player forced on him after what happened at Liverpool.

15.) 29 Aug 2016 19:43:42
Jonbhoy doesn't matter what the board do some people just won't give them credit.

16.) 29 Aug 2016 19:57:54
after happy bear shavers BR said he chose Janko because his meds had wore off.

no only joking

He said he chose Janko because of his speed up the wing.

I remember just before half time more than 3 player crossed into their half of the field - 1 being Janko as if they thought - keep it tight, score at half time end the tie - didn't work as he lost the ball - he was fast but couldnae get past my nan.

if we had a rb who was super fit, fast and could take a man on - sign him - does this guy fit the bill - ps we need one of those on the left too.

17.) 30 Aug 2016 10:20:21
Because he can't get gamd time at wesbrom he ain't a decent player? Everyone that watches epl football knows pullis prefers strapping solid looking full backs, bigbhoy you are ultra negative! The guys not even signed yet and your already knocking him and blaming who ever signed him, it was br decision to sign him not Park and lawell, give over with this crap bhoy.
Played at the world cup recently so has a decent pedigree, from clips I've seen he looks like he can defend better than janko, lightening quick, csn cross a ball, and also has a decent shot on him. Time will tell if he comes good for us but let's back the bhoy if he signs.

Hh.

Anyone heard anything regarding big Sviatchenko's thigh strain? Was expecting to see somthing reported one way or anthoer today.

Tompo88

1.) 07 Apr 2016 12:04:21
Seems he's out for season according to twitter.

2.) 07 Apr 2016 14:32:12
Just read after I posted that his scan is today. so I wouldn't get too worried just yet! Hopefully hear something soon.

3.) 08 Apr 2016 13:28:32
Report he's out for around 2 weeks but not been ruled out pulling through for Gers game.

14 Jan 2016 16:45:03
Dundee Utd have agreed to take Stokes on loan until the end of the season.

Tompo88

1.) 14 Jan 2016 18:20:06
Stokes has rejected Dundee Utd.

2.) 14 Jan 2016 20:37:50
Interesting.

3.) 14 Jan 2016 22:35:19
I'd offer D Utd a few of our other players on loan! They are a huge club with history and I definitely don't want them going out the league! Teams like Caley Thistle (even although I love John Hughes) Killy and Hamilton wouldn't be missed, especially with those bloody plastic pitches! Playing for Utd would be ideal, - huge pressure, big club, decent stadium etc! I'd refer Ryan Christie there than Caley! Also O'Connell if they would take him! I doubt Allen and GMS would fancy it but we need to get rid of some of the squad players! Allen is good technically but is no where near fit/ dedicated enough for me! He's like a young Kris Commons, there is at least 20% improvement in there. Ronny has to sort this out - it won't be long until he's been here 2 years and the team are nowhere near as fit and dynamic as I was expecting! There shouldn't be a choice about doing extra sessions, it should be mandatory, and if they can't handle it they should be told to leave! We're not even remotely good enough to be taking any of this lightly! For me this stuff is unforgivable because you don't need a huge transfer budget, or need to be playing in a great league! It lies at Ronny's door, the galling thing for me is he obviously knows how important fitness and all the basics are but it's not happening! I've said before that some of the teams you watch would run over the top of us, - look at Juve 2/ 3 years ago! The Italians have been doing it since the 80's, - some of the German coaches went over there years and years ago and said it looked like they had an extra player, especially Milan under Sacchi, - you don't need money for that! Even teams like Portsmouth and Leicester are running more than other teams, I think them along with Tottenham, it's not luck, they deserve what they are getting!

4.) 15 Jan 2016 10:44:21
We have too many midfielders at the club, with Allen and Chritie at the end of the queue behind Johansen, Bitton, Brown, Armstrong, Rogic, Commons, Forrest and GMS.
If you include Boerigter, Mulgrew and Stokes then it's pretty obvious we have a ridiculously unbalanced squad and need to address the deficiencies and surpluses asap.
We are very short of real quality in defence, up front and in the wide areas and RD has had plenty time to assess this.

5.) 15 Jan 2016 12:50:34
Celtic finalizing the transfer Ivana Močinić. Representatives Celtic should be going to the river in Dubai to find out whether the young Rijeka footballer to accept their terms. Final interviews will be carried out on Croatian soil, director of the Scottish champion John Park announced his arrival in Zagreb.

Since the zakomplicrala situation Anas Sharbini, Močinić remains the only player of Rijeka, which realistically can leave the club in the winter transfer period. The only official offer so far arrived in Sharbinija, who refused to go to China.

For Močinić no club has not sent an official offer, for all those interested know the conditions. As soon as someone Rijeka pay a total of slightly more than 3 million euros (2.7 mil. Euros plus reimbursement for development) fixed compensation, Močinić can go.

Celtic falls into the category of clubs, which will easily pay 3 million euros in damages if Močinić agree to the terms. A Močinić has reason to calculate the year of the European Championship finals in France.

Just got in the wider list of team members and any change of environment represents a risk. No one knows how many can take a period of adjustment to the new environment. If you stay in Rijeka until the summer, Močinić is sure to play and to have a real chance to see France. In this case, next summer will have no problem finding a club that is willing to pay a fixed compensation.

On the other hand, Celtic are an attractive club in the league for the appropriate step in Močinićevoj career. For ambitious players like Močinić not long way from Scotland to the English Premier league.

6.) 15 Jan 2016 13:09:50
Where you copy and paste that from lol.

7.) 15 Jan 2016 13:41:17
Some Croatian site lol.

8.) 15 Jan 2016 17:10:38
Mocinic certainly looks like he can play a bit but cm definitely isn't the priority. Probably be to replace Bitton in the summer.

9.) 15 Jan 2016 18:30:57
We've only really got Biton and Brown in the holding role, Mulgrew is out of contract and if he leaves I'm cool with that! I also think in Europe you could have the option of playing a 433 with Biton, Brown and someone else. So for me the holding midfield role is a priority. I'd also like someone who can play with his head up and control a game/ keep possession/ pass the ball! We also badly need at least 1 centre half, and a no 9. The only part of the team were we have options is in the attacking midfield role, and even then it's quantity as opposed to quality we have!

10.) 15 Jan 2016 18:48:43
What we need is a striker, when stokes we don't have much backup, ciftci needs time, but I prefer him out left cutting in, so only leaves us with Griffiths and Cole.

05 Jan 2016 08:35:59
Suk Hyun-Jun a ST who plays for Vitória Futebol (Portugal) . Stared at Ajax and has played for a few clubs with poor goal return, although he is apparently playing well for his currently club and scoring reguarly. At 6'3 he is a big bit of a lad. but can't help thinking this could be an Amido Balde all over again (sorry ED that was meant to be one message)

Tompo88

1.) 05 Jan 2016 11:48:50
Even Balde's youtube clips didn't look good. This guy has lots of ability but hasn't scored the goals. He's in double figures this season though which suggests he might be getting there.

2.) 05 Jan 2016 16:59:27
He's also playing in a far more competitive league. And when you factor in that by playing well for us they'll catch the eye of EPL clubs (sad, but we have to play that to attract players)

3.) 06 Jan 2016 00:02:00
Hyun Jun suk will be signing for Porto.

Just realised that if you add up EVERY team in the league with a positive goal difference and put them together it's still less than Celtic's goal difference. Now that's a stat that tells it's own story lol.

Tompo88

1.) 23 Dec 2016 12:01:57
Just remember but Tompo there is no gap! 😂😂.

2.) 23 Dec 2016 12:39:35
But some people still think we must play 2 upfront.

07 Dec 2016 00:38:25
I can't believe what I'm reading! Type in Celtic FC into Google to see what the papers are saying and the first 3 results are about "mayhem" in Manchester! I can't believe we have succumbed to this lads but somone actually threw a burger. A cheeseburger at that! . At a police horse! I hope these scoundrels are brought to task and barred from parkhead lololol. Honestly what a load of pish.

Tompo88

{Ed007's Note - To be fair it's total bawbag behaviour, Tompo, anyone that hurts or throws things at any animal is a (swear) and deserves a slap. but granted, it's hardly headline stuff. They were probably looking for something to balance the Rangers fans giving the GMP Police Canine Division rabies back on '08.}

1.) 07 Dec 2016 08:03:34
There's nothing we can do now but stand back and watch how the MSM try to destroy our reputation. They will be so desperate to put us on a par with the shame and what they did back then. If throwing a cheeseburger at a horse because of the actions of one clown is the worst they can come up with, then most decent people will see through it. The only ones wetting their panties will be the same thugs who wrecked Manchester on that night. F*** the gutter press.

2.) 07 Dec 2016 09:15:44
Our fans are not all Saints. A bunch terrorized families on the tram by setting off fireworks. 90% of the first half songs were rebel songs, with deliberate intent to provoke. This, from our travelling support has got to stop. Takes away any moral high ground stance we like to think we have over the other side.

3.) 07 Dec 2016 10:04:46
Nora, there's a void left in Callcuta for someone so saintly.
Seriously thou, fireworks on a train? Someone needs their arse kicked as for the rebel songs, just look at the Saltcoats function, these songs need to be sung in discretion in backwater locations, bare bellied and sexually charged to entice the females into courting rituals. The race must continue. Are we human? .

I agree Ed but at the same time I always do the wee Celtic fc in Google before coming on here to see what the papers are saying and after that performance. I mean Armstrong was incredible, Forrest was ruining people before he came off and I tell you big Simonovic and Sviatchenco are (imo) one of the best pairings in Britain atm. But to see the first THREE headlines talking about a fan "assaulting" a horse with a cheeseburger. Considering most of our fans went in numbers, behaved, and outsang the City home allocation all game. To pick up on that 1 incident just highlights what is wrong with Scottish football.

{Ed007's Note - I see even the GMP were tweeting jokes about saying the horse is in a 'stable' condition. The media up here need to put a negative spin on anything Celtic simply because it's what the people who read their rags want. Or should that be 'Ru Peepul'?

6.) 07 Dec 2016 03:36:25
********** TEXT DELETED **********

{Ed007's Note - Thanks for that, Tompo. I'm assuming the alcohol was still flowing at half 3 this morning ;-)

7.) 07 Dec 2016 20:36:29
Have to say I'm loving the rebel songs getting thrown back in, grace is just a beautiful song n superb sung live at games n then u get the variations over n over, symphony, just can't get enough, Willey malley etc etc n I think the away support r outstanding, same as at parkhead the GB r great.
Hail hail.

8.) 08 Dec 2016 11:30:12
Very much so Ed lol but meant every word!

{Ed007's Note - (yes)

07 Nov 2016 17:31:42
Just seen there that if Celtic win thier next 7 games then a win at Ibrox will take our points total to 55! lol #going for 55 haha.

30 Sep 2016 14:29:44
One of the things that impressed me the most was Dembele, after running himself into the ground, towards the end of the game and chasing down Silva running over half the pitch! Absolutly exquisite. The amount of headers he manages to make in our box whilst defending corenrs as well is like having an extra man in defence - extremly impressive.

Tompo88

1.) 30 Sep 2016 17:17:35
He is fast becoming a top all round footballer . He seems to be a dream to work with as he wants to learn.

2.) 30 Sep 2016 19:04:24
i seem to remember drogba being an important player for set pieces defensively aswell the similarity is there, tho I wonder how good Drogba was at 19/20.

3.) 01 Oct 2016 08:15:55
Was good enough that he was going to sign for us, but Momo Sylla told him not to for whatever reason.

08 Sep 2016 11:23:45
Have you heard anything regarding Rogis ED some folk are saying he was simply subbed while away with National team and others saying he came off with a knock? Really hopeing its not the latter as I think he will be the key linking Midfield with Attack.

Tompo88

{Ed007's Note - Rumours of any knock look to be just mischief making. More than likely an agreement was made between us and the Australians that Rogic would only play for an hour.}

1.) 08 Sep 2016 14:41:45
I very much doubt there was an agreement as it was a World Cup qualifier. More likely tactical switch as it was 0-0 against uae and it worked as they won 1-0 and it's well documented about rojic's fitness levels and he played 90 min in previous match so could have been tiring.

{Ed007's Note - It doesn't matter if it a WC qualifier - does Rogic's fitness problems just disappear when he goes on international duty? The Australian backroom staff will work closely with Celtic's to make sure Rogic's fitness is managed to the Club's wishes.}

2.) 08 Sep 2016 16:17:26
Cheers Ed much appreciated.

Re Roberts. Its not about City being hard to deal with that's the issue, its another cash rich lower EPL teams paying more money than we can! You look at some of the fees teams down there pay for average English players in some cases just to have enough in the squad to meet the homegrown rules (ie City with Delph and Sinclair) . It will be a tough if not impossible ask IMO to get him pernamently but I would definitely settle with another season loan

Tompo88

{Ed007's Note - I don't think City would stand in Roberts' way for the sake of a couple of million quid if he wanted to come to Celtic. Drop a mention of the good relationship we have and get Pedro's son to have a word.... #UnseenFenianHand

Majority of that is add ons mate. I'm sure I remember Ed saying the fee was around or even under 6 million, the adds on depend on performance. Also keep in mind he was bought by a different manager so would not be that strange for him to be let go. however the real issue is when other English clubs hear he is available there will be many out there willing to offer more than we can afford.

Tompo88

{Ed001's Note - I am pretty sure they paid nearly £13m for him but you are right that Pep is not keen on him and the recruitment policy at City in general is something he wants changed. There was a bit of a set-to after they played Liverpool between himself and Txiki Bergiristan over that. If Celtic want to take him on a permanent, they will find Citeh are very receptive to an offer right now.}

He's a CAM craigy quite small, very fast feet and looks quite technical. If he is indeed coming it will to be to compete with Rogic rather than CDM which I imagine we will still be looking for.

And being second in the league puts you in the qualifiers, not into Europe

Would love to see Ajer out on loan and get a few proper games under his belt. For such a young lad I thought his composure was insane in the warm up games, even whilst playing at CB. Was getting slightly concerned that this new lad coming in would spell the end for young Ajer, but considering the amount of positons he can play I am still hoping that's not the case
