Ed, what's your thoughts on the manager situation for next season mate? I, like you would prefer McKenna but it would take some serious persuading and budget from desmond to get him to drop the EPL for us. there's also talk he will be high up on a number of other EPL clubs lists for managers next season. I would be all over this one but i just don't see us being ambitious enough.
The only other name being mentioned that interests me is Robbie Keane. I think he has shown a lot of qualities and has a great managerial record so far. Although a lot of fans would be anti this appointment and to be fair rightly so due to his Israeli links.
Askou is a no for me. He has had 1 good season with m'well but if that's all it takes to be considered for the Celtic job these days then we are in bigger trouble than we thought. This would be the easy/ cheap option.
Martinez is a big no for me. Has an average managerial record at best. I do fear this one could be a goer with him likely to step aside from portugal after the WC and also his links with Maloney.
Other names mentioned like Maloney, Frank, Clarke, Bellamy, Brown, Hayen and Knutsen are all big nos for me.

If not McKenna or Keane i'd rather O'neill stayed on for another year than any of the other names mentioned. But for the love of God for whoever comes in we need to rip up our recruitment policy and start again with new faces making the decisions.

{Ed007's Note - I think it's going to be Robbie Keane now although from what I've heard the reports that Askou, Motherwell and Toulouse have all reached an agreement aren't true.}

Agree1 Disagree2

Thanks mate. Keane would do for me with Oniell on the board.

Everybody’s opinion differs, picking who you would like and realistically who we can get is 2 different things.
Don’t get the fuss on McKenna, other than he’s Irish, needs to quit ?
Never mind trying to convince him, he ain’t leaving The EPL or even the championship to come to this tin pot pish, you come here when you’re nearly done or nothing on the horizon.

Saying that, I can’t think who we could get realistically to take us back up a wee notch.

{Ed007's Note - McKenna is one of the best young managers/coaches in the UK if not Europe, or do you think EPL teams want him as manager just because he's Irish?}
