Is this board of ours going to deny Martin the best possible chance of salvaging this title by not letting a section of our fans in for the rest of the season? This ludicrous situation has to come to an end before our next home game. Think Buzz posted that we've only lost something like 1 domestic game in so many years with the GB present and lost around 7 home games when they've been banned.
We need CP absolutely rocking for the run in to give us the best possible chance.
Before anyone comes out with "but there's another 59000 there to create an atmosphere" Rubbish.
Firstly most inside CP are reluctant to create any kind of atmosphere as protest to the boards multiple failings and treatment of our most vocal support. Secondly every stadium needs a vocal faction of the support to get the rest of the stadium bouncing. My fear is that Daddy and Baby Desmond are willing to sacrifice the title for their own arrogant egos and our fans will remain locked out for the rest of the season and beyond.

I would be surprised to see them back this season, mate. Dreadful how they have been treated, and 100% shows those making these decisions don't give a toss about those pumping money into the club.
I am wondering if O'Neill could not go to Desmond and demand they be allowed back in.

I have said for months that I don't think they will be allowed back, and that their seats will go to the guys on the waiting list.
The Desmonds don't give a monkeys.
The board are stringing this out until the end of the season.
If the GB were getting back in, surely it would have been done by now.

I don't think the board, under the direction of Desmond, have any intention of letting them back in, and it would not surprise me if their season tickets are sold to others. These alleged peace talks are nothing more than a stalling tactic by the board.
They were only supposed to be banned for 6 matches, which have long passed.
The reason for the ban was over an alleged assault, for which there is no evidence. They banned the whole section, despite there being no evidence that they were all involved in the alleged incident. This is a witch hunt and reeks of vindictiveness by the board.

If we won tomorrow night, and it's a must win, get them in for the well game, because that's a massive game and we'll need all the help we can get.

WeeJoe, you say no evidence re the abuse and assault regarding GB. The police arrested and charged 4 persons, who were appearing at court in February. Now I don't know the ins n outs of it all, maybe others do. But if there's no evidence and nothing to answer to, then these 4 persons will walk free from court with no further charges, or walk from court with further records.
Regarding the 7 domestic defeats this season, let's not kid ourselves that the GB are Celtic saviours; let's not put them up on this pedestal that they sing and we win. They add tons of atmosphere to the stadium and can spur the team on, but they come with too much baggage, too much self entitlement. Just come and support your team. These 7 defeats are down to the team regressing, failed recruitment, a failed managerial appointment, and the toxic atmosphere surrounding the club.
Everything that is wrong with the club has more than likely been there. We have always shopped for project players, with more than a few coming good, but the majority of them not. GB have always behaved the way they do but went unpunished; directors have never engaged with the fans and always took our money. But we were dominant and winning everything, so again it went unnoticed. We are now struggling for all these reasons, and because we aren't winning it's coming to the fore.
I hope that some peace talks can happen with the GB, but there has to be agreements on both sides. Remember no one is bigger than the club: fans, directors, players, manager.

C'mon Greentree, every support all over the world has young lads that, admittedly, are no angels; it always has been the way for as long as I can remember, and I'm 55.
Do you think it's coincidence that we've lost around 7 x the amount of games when the most vociferous of our support has been locked out? The atmosphere at CP since November has been dreadful.
The Derby game at NY was by far the poorest atmosphere I've witnessed at a derby ever; even in the first half, when we were battering them, the atmosphere wasn't there.
Don't underestimate the power of a rocking CP; many have crumbled in the past, and to take this away is a huge disadvantage.

@Greentree, none of those who were arrested were charged with assault, so I stand by the point that there is no evidence an assault took place.
Also, just think how many phones, CCTV cameras in the stadium, witnesses, and police with hand held cameras there were at the incident.
Don't you find it odd that not one of them picked up the alleged assault?
The Green Brigade are being targeted by the board and the police, and they got banned for being vocal critics of the board.

The bottom line is, when you have 60,000 in a stadium, you are never going to get everyone behaving like angels. There will always be young lads, and some older ones, who will get up to all sorts. Every club in the world has an element that breaks rules; that's just the way a football fan base.
Very few, if any, clubs ban their own fans in such numbers that we have for such a long period of time.
This is personal and has nothing to do with their behaviour; it's all to do with their vocal criticism of the board. This board wants a stadium full of happy clapping families (preferably with plenty cash in their pockets) that accept every action the board takes.

I think you could have had a Green Brigade in every corner of the stadium and it would not have made a blind bit of difference when Nancy was involved (which covers the majority of our defeats) .
Our problems have stemmed almost entirely from poor striker form. In almost all our defeats (including under Nancy) , we made enough chances to comfortably win the games.
Continually missing chances started to affect confidence, which spread through the team.
Having a full stadium, fully backing the team, will help somewhat, but it is nonsense to think a small minority of fans, however vociferous, are the reason for our defeats!
03 Mar 2026 17:39:58
The facts are out there: 7 defeats without them, 1 defeat with them, and we've played a lot more games in recent seasons with them in the stadium. I agree that nothing would have saved us under Nancy.
I would guess that we have probably lost more home games in the last 10 years without them in the stadium than we have with them.
That is astonishing, considering we've probably played around 250 home games in that time and they have only been banned from around maybe 15 of them. But, nah, they don't make a difference.
