So, is this season ticket alliance just a cumulative begging bowl to take back to the status quo board to ask them to please change something? Can Haughey be trusted due to his connections and gushing praise for DD. Most of the issues the fans collective have could have been resolved long ago if the board had been willing to engage. Haughey said that this all started recent poor recruitment, think that’s an over simplification.

Personally, I’d stick with the collective. Anything else is only going to be meetings about meetings to get minor appeasing incremental changes that amount to very little. Is this another establishment tactic still hoping to buy time until the support gets fed up and goes back to being compliant mutes in the honour of our glorious CEO.

You need 5% of the shares before you're allowed a seat at the table outwith the AGM. Currently, DD is one of only three shareholders at Celtic who have at least 5% of the shares. Haughey's proposal will give them about 15% of the shares from phase one, which will become larger when non-season-ticket shareholders also join.

It's basically just giving the Celtic fans a voice and a seat at the table, instead of DD acting like he owns the club, although he's only a minority shareholder.

Out of curiosity, if anyone can put a figure on it, what was the percentage of non-board-backing shareholders at the last AGM before the establishment brought the curtain down? The point I'm getting at is, what percentage would a fans' group need to avoid just being voted down by the turkeys that won't vote for Christmas?

I think the 3rd highest shareholder is only 6%. The 2nd highest and DD previously had a majority between them, but they have sold shares on at least 2 occasions in the last year. The top 2 now don't have a majority between them.

DD has about 34% and the Celtic Board combined won't be much more. It looks like the new Trust will be looking to be the 2nd highest shareholder behind DD and a major player.

{Ed007's Note - Where are the shares coming from? Is someone selling them or is there going to be a share issue which would dilute current shareholdings.}

But, if DD and his minions stick together, will it matter?

I don't know, Ed, but I'm sure they will have a good plan. My Dad was asking the same when I was telling him about it. He's willing to join Phase 2 as a non-season-ticket shareholder when it comes to proxy vote. It could really take off with current shareholders like my Dad joining.

{Ed007's Note - It sounds good Buzz but we definitely need more information to see if it is actually realistic.}

That was my question Ed. I know many have been turned away from buying into the club. We all know Haugheys been trying to get in for years. Maybe he thinks the fans backing can help make that happen.

{Ed007's Note - If I was Haughey I would make an appearance on the biggest Celtic fan media channel, then I'd offer the use of my radio stations studios to said podcast for free while helping them out financially etc, maybe even a wee day out in my box at Celtic Park to sweeten the deal... if you have the biggest fans media channel in your pocket you're controlling that narrative and what the Celtic fans here from such a trusted source.
That's what I'd do....

Ed, that was my first thought. Where are the 10m of shares coming from.

I am not sure the club could justify another share issue, with the money we currently hold.

Even if there was, he cannot guarantee getting all those shares.

Does he have information about someone selling their shares, if so he needs to tread lightly.

It is all a bit wishy washy unless there is a cast iron guarantee he can get those shares.

Is it a case of, that would be the best case scenario that would get fans a seat at the table and he would help do that or is it he knows something is about to happen.

I am sitting on the fence with this until more info comes to light, as this is the guy who cuddled up to DD not that long ago.

{Ed007's Note - I've no idea about what has happened but is it possible that deal/arrangement for Haughey to replace Lawwell has collapsed so he's had to come up with an alternative route to get a place on that board?}
