I’ve tried to work out what the post split fixtures could look like and I’ve not come close.
It’s going to be a nightmare this season trying to make it fair.
The current top 6 looks a certainty with Falkirk 8 pts ahead of Aberdeen and they still have 5 home games left on their dodgy pitch before the split.
Hearts will have played 4 of the 5 clubs twice each at home before the split and Hibs have had it the hardest by playing all those 4 clubs twice away before the split.
Motherwell are the only club in the top 6 that would be perfect, if they were allowed to play out the remaining matches without playing the same club 3 times at home or away.
But it won’t happen because it’s hugely messed up.
I’m sure the SPFL won’t change the head to head games involving Celtic, Hearts and Sevco with the title being so tight.
I’m also sure Hearts will get sent to Easter Road for a second time after the split.
But that then really narrows down the options.
Celtic and Hibs are due 3 home and 2 away games each after the split to give 19 home and 19 away matches.
The other 4 clubs are due to play 2 at home and 3 away.
It’s impossible for all 6 clubs to have an even 19 and 19 home and away games.
There will be an imbalance and at least a couple of clubs will be unhappy.
I think that means 2 clubs in the top 6 will finish the season playing 20 home games and only 18 away.
And it won’t be Celtic or Hibs.
I would like to think those clubs would be Motherwell and Falkirk out of fairness and not Hearts and/ or Sevco.
Like I mentioned it’s going to be a total shambles.

I didn’t think that went through and that’s why I posted again at 10.30 this morning.
