Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

On the way home from the game last night I was listening to pat Bonner, James McFadden and Tom English discussing Wilfred Nancy and his formation change.

Pat Bonner made a very good point that backed up what I already knew. He said that the best time to change formations and work on them is in the pre season, when you have lots of time with the players and you can bring in the players you need. Martin keown said the same about Wenger. He said he stuck with the formation for 12 months and changed things the following summer.

I think Nancy has shown his inexperience by trying to change too much, too soon. Considering how fragile things are at Celtic, the fact we don't have the players for that system and the low player confidence, I think it was naive to change formations.

His choice now, is does he double down and keep going or does he go back to the previous formation.

That is two games now that they got booed off at full time and the hostility towards the board in the stadium is growing. This is only going to intensify with each passing defeat. I am actually scared for January as this could create a large mess that will be hard to unravel. If we buy him the players for his system and he fails, we are left with them when he leaves but what is the alternative? Sack him and bring back O'Neil before then?

I can't see O'Neil coming back in a managerial capacity. We're stuck with Nancy for now.

Oh and you were so close to having a post without mentioning the BOARD. So close.

That's my take joe he has shown inexperience there's no way he should have changed it so quick, take your time assess the players and then he'd have known they couldn't play that system but what do we know.

January could be a huge can of worms for a few reasons:-
The Board/ Recruitment have a very poor record of improving squad. There may be a few players that will leave the club,
If the results continue to falter, will they back this manager?
The rot set-in under Brendan Rodgers after last years CL run but the Board have intensified the decline from the last transfer window right through to the shifting and swapping of managers rocking the boat, while concurrently declaring war on the support.

I know it's pantomime season but how farcical is that?

The board have shown their stuborness and they will stick with him until at least season book renewal.
