Just a wee reminder how far we have fallen that result and performance. They are a good side but they could have hit us for 6. MON has done well to steady the ship but he ain't no miracle worker.
As the sayings go "cant polish a turd" and can't make a silk purse out of a pigs b*llocks"
He will know more than anyone exactly how far we have fallen since he was last here. It really must baffle him inside.
Not one of our current squad gets near the team that reached the UEFA cup final. Not one of them. that's an eye opener in itself.
And that Europa league should now be realistic for us to challange for as CL teams no longer drop down, but we can't even get near challanging for that.
Its going to be an incredibly interesting few months especially january as the board are now under immense pressure to act and not only act but get it right.
Not only do a dozen new players at least need brought in these players need to be a massive upgrade and walk straight into the starting 11. Not to mention a decision on a new manager as that will be crucial before january for him to bring in his own squad.
One other thing regarding the board is they are always prioritizing sales of our top players as we have seen with Tierney, oriley, kuhn, vvd etc for record breaking sums but not one player we have just now is worth more than £10-12m. So in essence the board have crapped on themselves with their penny pinching finally catching up with them.
This mess is all their own doing and they simply can't afford not to put it right in the next 6months or so.

Midtyjla are a decent team but its a team that only months ago struggled to beat hibs and progress to this competition we aren't talking about world beaters here yet the took us apart and then took the foot of the pedal.

It's true Hibs put up a fight against them and that's something Celtic couldn't manage.
When Martin was at Celtic before,
we could compete for really good players and afford to pay the wages they paid in the EPL.
But over the last 20 years since Martin left that standard is on a totally different level that we now can't compete with.

We spent £11m on 2 wingers and whilst still early days it looks like we were fleeced! Forrest is miles past his best and still our most productive winger. The squad is so so weak. I agree we do need at least 5 or 6 players to go right into the first team.
Realistically who do we keep/ start? AJ, Jota (if form returns after injury) CalMac maybe. Other than that i'm struggling to make a case for anyone else.

Been saying it for a long time.
Far too many SPFL level players who are at times not even comfortable playing in our poor league.
Only serious money being spent will take us back to last years achievements in Europe.
Our board are cheating us big style.
