Buzz bomb . If true it is partly due to the pressure by Managers and Fans on Board to sign players . For Board to suggest to manager to promote rather than buy would go down badly .
Any youth who shows ability, has calls from fans to loan him out, manager does that to free a position to buy or loan a player in . If injuries occur during season player isn’t available to club.

It is pretty damning and shows how big the gap is between development team and first team. Not only that it shows how hard it is to break into the first team.
If we take a CB as an example, you are generally competing with 4 other professionals who are internationalists, so you need to be better than 3 of them to get a game. It is a massive ask and that is why very few of them make it.

We should make it a club rule to start an academy player in every game in a season, if possible, let's find out if they are good enough by finding out if they are good enough.
