Lets be honest about this, they are far better than us all over the park. We weren't up to the challenge - no heart, passion, tempo and no creativity. We didn't stretch them at all - it was embarrassing. There were no grains of positivity about tonight. The knock on effect of tonight could be significant - I would be shocked if we hang onto foster or virgil, commons hasn't signed a new contract but didn't look interested tonight amongst others.
Has anyone any inside track on how Ronny and JC have been received by the players? Attitudes of too many of them look well off the mark.
In my opinion Ronny has to be given a chance to put this right, let's see how confident the board are in the man they appointed - this will be clearly shown in the amount of money they give him to spend. As a minimum he needs all the money from any players sold. If he doesn't get that then we are on trouble.

2.) You're onto something here. It must be quite difficult to succeed NL. Ronny is quieter and doesn't quite have the authority that Lennon had almost automatically. He needs his own team. He needs a feckin striker, and a midfielder. Broony would do - but he alongside someone with the killer pass is the way forward. I hoped Johanson might work out, and he may. Ah, balls. rubbish day to be a Tim. Really would have been embarrassing had we made it through somehow, tho.

Trying not to do the kneejerk reaction to the performance and result, but finding it hard not to. I didn't see the game but what I heard and read suggests that the players didn't perform. Whilst I am of the opinion that no manager trains players to make individual errors; the number and result of the mistakes leave me very concerned. We all know Efe and Charlie have mistakes in them, but to seemingly roll over to a team that we were tipped to beat is alarming. I hope I am wrong but does anyone think we could be about to experience the same thing that Man Utd experienced last year? i.e. Players not fully respecting the manager and believing in what he wants to do? He has no real pedigree and is still young in football management terms! If we don't turn this round, this is going to be one long year!

we were useless tonight but I have faith he can take us into the cl this year and further. the players looked lazy and at 2-1 down they looked as though it was just a pre season friendly. there was no emotion in them

the main problem being the balance that we have in the team right now. rd clearly likes kayal so I would have him in beside biton probably, or if fit brown. drop commons and try johansen in the middle so that way the stiker will actually get some service and the back 4 have two solid players in front of them

then mc gregor wherever he wants really cause he puts in a shift either side he plays, and with? and? filling the other two places. on the current squad would have to be griffiths and pukki

lustig for cb next game anyone? was poor tonight but means we get matthews and izzy back into place

2.) I would argue that none of our players are of a high enough class or pedigree to have such badly inflated egos, apart from one or two maybe. It was a bad result. One of those nights where everything goes wrong. Strachan had it with Artmedia, Lenny had it with Utrecht and Karagandy, it happens. Maybe Europa League (if we don't manage a minor miracle) would be a good level for RD's first season and then hopefully gel and build towards a CL push next season

3.) Ronny has to fully take the blame for this, in his 6 years at stromsgodset he must have identified a player, that suits the system he plays and wanted to buy, but maybe couldn't due to funds. When he came to celtic that player should have been bought ASAP or there must have been one of his stars from stromsgodset that he could have brought with him. To just come to a club and start playing players out of postion to suit his system shows his complete lack of experience, honestly can't see him last the season.

Scrapped through - time for PL to splash some money. Can understand his reluctance to spend big amounts prior to first 2 rounds - but now we have to bring in quality. The wheels could have come off tonight as a result of no out and out goal scorer. With big Kelvin going, the spine of last years team is gone - we have to spend monies now (I am not expecting us to spend £15m) but we need some quality in to give us a chance of making the CL. PL gambled and we got through this time - but no guarantees next time. Ed you know more than you let on at times - who do you think we will get in!

1.) The Celtic team that was out last night was a lot weaker than last season so regardless if we make the group stages we need to replace 2/3 (if Wilson goes) players. On top of that we need a out and out striker like you said. I can understand Celtic not wanting to spend daft amount of money but who we have sold so far (on paper is pushing 20m on transfers) now if we reach the group stages then surely that brings in around 10-15m? The next 180 min IMO will decide how much Celtic give Lennon to spend. Ed I'm I right in saying Lennon is still on a 1 year rolling contract?

Reasonable performance tonight. Leave ourselves very exposed at the back at times but that is the way RD wants us to play. VVD is trying to play too much from the back in my opinion.
