Don't post much but Lennon must take the blame for tonight changed a winning formula, plus a think our defenders need to toughen up they are to lightweight.

Never understand why we need seven and a half feet defenders. What's wrong with playing ball-players who can read a game as central defenders. There's height elsewhere in the team who can help out at corners.

It's their eye watering lack of pace. ponderous and plodding. Every time Julien went to clear the ball it seemed an eternity passed til his leg actually kicked the damn thing. Like super slow mo.

Long time reader of the page, but first time poster, what a job all you eds do, just want to say the boys done an amazing job tonight playing that amount of time down to ten men, a lot of positives for me, but now let's concentrate on getting number 8 in style.

As well as we played - and it was a huge improvement from the first leg - with a good few terrific personal performances. It again highlighted what we need in Europe is a quality finisher to put away one or two of chances we create.
It's obvious we need to cut out the mistakes and lapses at the back that we have seen a lot this season, but a real goal threat gives us a chance whenever, like tonight the defense/ goalie do very well.

Didn't get to see the game tonight because of the early kickoff but judging by the comments here and the fact that it produced a first time poster it must have been a cracker. Welcome jamo881 and as you say now we can concentrate on the league and cup for another treble. Hail Hail.

I’ve heard a few comments over the last few months suggesting we’re not improving but I have to disagree. It’s not a massive improvement but I believe we are getting better in Europe. Like everyone else, I’d love to see us go out and put some of these teams to the sword but I don’t think we can ever expect realistically to do that. It disappoints me that we are being marginalised by UEFA and will probably have to settle for EL in future but, if we continue to show small improvements, we can maybe start making last 16 or better which under the current fixing of the whole European set up is probably is good as it will get for us.
