Lot of finger pointing after last night.
The team were poor.
International football has been rotten for years.
It's our national sport and I never watch Scotland anymore.
How do we get youngsters on the parks developing into international standard players?
Is there enough pitches, facilities, desire, funding?
Can schools do more?
Can the SFA do more?

I think strachan should walk, but I doubt anyone coming in to this set up would do any better.

Hi,

I do coaching for a 2006 age group. a lot of coaches are out for the result and not the development of the player. Yes its nice to win but young players are suffering to fill the ego of the coaches.

There is some good young talent in our leagues but seems like the pro vlubs don't have the scouts these days to pick these boys up and develope them into top international standard players.

I am constantly trying to play/ build from the back and take a great pride in working with the lads to help develope there game.

Good luck Stu
Here's hoping there's more coaches on the same wavelength

I took my boy to training and I was not impressed one bit with the way the coaches expected young kids to adapt to what they wanted.

It seemed that if the boys who weren't as good as the 'top' players they were surplus to requirements. No explanations of what to train and why. No building up of technique.
It was as if an under seven match was a 'must win'.
Kids need support, encouragement and patience.

A lot of the pro clubs Celtic included wanted kids that were big or great athletes rather than kids with good potential that were mibi on the small side. Don't know how many times Iv heard of kids being released because they were too small. Scotland can produce world class kids it's getting them to the next level I take a couple of teams from 4 year old too 9year old and Celtic are now miles ahead in kids/ youth development.

The ego of the coaches to win.

When i 1st started getting beat everyweek but stick by it and every1 involved and progressed as a team. We now hold our own with some good passing play.

They have to be allowed to make errors only way they will learn.

I think one of Scotland's main problems is that most very good 16/ 17 year olds seem to lose it around then and don't progress to anything better than very average adult footballers . Maybe our youths are moving away from home and no longer under parental supervision, definitely I am certain that very many from 16-20 develop life styles that are not compatible with professional footballers . We have professional clubs all over Scotland and we need to do more to keep our young players in Scotland at least until they are in their 20's .
Of course the SFA doesn't realise that development our youths should be their most important duty, not maintaining a senior club in Govan.
