I'm fully behind the GB statement. Everyone is entitled to their view and the fact PL told them "your finished" in 2016 and now the recent ban which coincides with him being back in office. Coincidence or is he behind this as he was defeated last time round? The fans will be heard.

I am not happy with our fans using their attendance at a Football match in Celtic Pk to express their disapproval. I would much prefer to protest outside stadium before and & after match.

Exactly, everyone is entitled to their opinion and that includes both club an supporters, however the GB seem to think their views are those of all supporters and they are not.

My fear is that their push to get palestinian flags in the stadium is, if successful it may look like support for them against the board. It should not be made to feel that way.

Neither side seem to accept the other sides view but in response to tifo and pyros, I am behind the club, it costs us as a club a lot in fines. It also tarnishes our reputation.

I support the GB's view they should be allowed to show support for Palestine but like CC it maybe should not be inside the ground on match days.

It us a difficult situation and neither side seem to be willing to be flexible.

Totally agree. But I came on here as I am sick to death of GB. Abada, Bitton etc. players who served and are still at our club being made feel that way is disgusting. Personally I would just ban the GB, for some reason they thing they represent the club/ fans which they do not. The rules from the club to GB should be clear and when broken then ban them. Simple as that. Let them protest around the city and they can do that all day long, just keep it away from the stadium.

It’s obvious the Celtic board are giving the GB enough rope to hang themselves, by banning them from away matches but still allowing them at home games.

It’s a bit of a mess.
I thought the relationship between the Celtic board and the GB had grown stronger over the last couple of years.
Is it a coincidence that the relationship is back to square one since Lawwell has been made Chairman?

A notably temperate statement, which is very difficult to disagree with.

Personally, I am incredibly proud of the living example of defiance and resistance offered by all factions of the Celtic support who call out genocide when they see it. It would be a shameful day when the Celtic support did not oppose the same oppression that led to the founding of the team.

Buzz the relationship will always be fragile while Lawell throws his weight about. I appreciate there are many on here that can't hear a word against him and concede that he has done much good for the club, but IMO he has also done a fair amount of damage in the past and will do so again as no matter what role he assumes. He is partially responsible for us virtually going backwards in Europe sine the death of Oldco and his ego will always cause disruption and damage IMO.

Am puzzLed as an outsider on Politics, if GB and board are at loggerheads abouts these things, how do they actually get into the ground with flags, banners, fLairs ect, i in nO way saying they shouldn’t get in as av not got a clue about things like that but sny time me and my daughter go to games we get searched.

Just read the clubs statement put out today.

I cannot understand why the original statement put out was not worded the same, expressing sadness for all those affected.

Ignoring the request about banners etc, a message acknowledging we all have differing views and that is what our club is about, would have possibly cooled down the media fight with GB, but for some reason the club came out fighting as did GB.

Neither thought this through properly so I hope there are no negative banners tonight and the support get behind the team and ignore the board and GB's ingoing feud.

I am for people being so involved politically, my issue is they use the club and sing more about Politics than they ever do about Celtic. They bore the tits off me. Where are their legions when an actual Republican March is on? Snow off a dyke. I would have no issue with the club telling them to bolt. They drag all of us into their world view and although I may agree broadly with their politics, but they cost the club money. Embarrass it with their Provo repotoire and non stop singing about filling empty holsters, yet can’t attend a match? Plastic Provos. Be political but don’t use the club. Get out on the streets and do your thing. Remember we used to do that? No doubt tonight they will try to make the focus them so they can get on the news. And I detest them for that.

I've made my views pretty clear about this, but I do accept that the board are in a tight spot here, given the propensities of the tory government to police protests and almost to criminalize the waving of the Palestinian flag. This is absolutely outrageous, of course--even the metropolitan police have been pushing back--and exposes the fact that the UK is NOT a country with a right of free speech. The board are concerned that this will be one of the most internationally visible protests in the UK on this issue, and that the police or government may choose to make an example. This doesn't seem likely to me, but there is an outside chance. It also comes at a time when the charge of anti-semitism, however specious, is given unlimited credence by the major opposition party and the media. The only legitimate course of action is, thankfully, one at which the Green Brigade excel: open defiance; resistance, in other words.

If you're at the game, and if you've got a flag: know your rights, stay frosty, and don't be bated. I salute you!

PS Nir Bitton was on record with his support of the IDF while he played for the club during the last war. He's earned the right to his view. It wasn't a problem then, and it isn't a problem now.

I maybe. Wrong, but I don’t think the GB have demonstrated or protested against the Zionist oppression on Palestinians anywhere other than where Celtic are playing.

To me this shows that the GB want to hurt club they claim to love and support as the Zionists have breeched UN Human Rights Laws daily from 2006. Most Celtic fans are pro Palestinians, so we should be fighting over this.

The answer seems simple, if factions of our support want to hold up banners in support of Palestine then let them, i'm sure there is plenty space outside the stadium or in George Square. Doing it inside the stadium is hurting our club, what sort of supporters want to hurt their own club.

Buzz bomb I am one of the majority of fans who am embarrassed by the Palestine Nat Flag not allowed to be flown at Celtic Pk .
This embarrassment is overcome when I realise UEFA are going to punish Celtic as much as they can.
