I understand the need for all to ventilate and obviously a new Manager is going to invite rumours and comments. Moyes is definately not the man for Celtic. His comments - waiting for the summer to make a decision - imply that he his hedging his bets. If a better option comes along so be it if not he will consider Celtic. We need a manager who feels priviledged to be offered the job and not someone who sees it as his last and only option. Keane is hot headed and gets too emotional. Also his managerial pedigree is lousy. So why consider him?
Giggs is untried and I am sure his heart is still at Man Utd.
Coyle has not been successful of late and Macky was slated for potential racist comments - is that what we want at Celtic?
Larrson is a great Celtic ambassador but is a managerial rookie - he will be Ronny 2 if he is the new manager.
Lennon has been and done it - not usually advisable to go down the same track again. In any event from his point of view what's changed since he left?
No - Celtic need to look for someone experienced, available and with a real desire to take the job and take on the challenge - Who? - make no mistake - only Lawell (with a bit of support from DD) will be making the decision and if that's the case don't excpect too much.

If Moyes is favourite as many people think, and he has been sounded out by officials at Celtic, surely they are going to tell him to keep everything on the down low as there is still a manager there trying to win the league. What better way than saying he is keeping his options open and will wait till the end of the season to make any decisions. He is never going to come out on the day Ronny has told us he's leaving and say oh yeah I want the job there has to be respect for the out going manager. He said Celtic were a special club with a massive fan base and who wouldn't be interested. I think Moyes would be very interested in the job was he not in Scotland a few weeks ago talking about what a great job it was and that it was a job that would always interest him.
I'm not sticking up for Moyes because I think we should make him our next manager i'm just saying even if he was desperate to be the next manager yesterday live on TV was not the time to announce it. If and when.

3.) 21 Apr 2016 15:11:50
Still think it will be an outsider.

4.) 21 Apr 2016 16:33:19
Jesner exactly why I didn't want R D to go right up to Sunday debacle . There is no point in replacing a manager, to bring in something similar . R D wasnt too bad until Sunday when his team were diabolically bad, as if they wanted to not perform.

5.) 21 Apr 2016 23:33:16
David Moyes on the Celtic Managers job.

I can't see any benefit in speculation about a new manager whilst we have a manager.
As long as Ronny is in charge he deserves the support and respect of players and supporters.
Any talk of replacements will only undermine his authority and have an adverse effect on the players
I would suggest waiting till the end of the season and see where we are up to.

I think the fact there is speculation, reflects the mood and concerns of many supporters and although there will always be mischief making and unsettling, biased journalism, there would be a lot less of it, if we were more convincing and confident on and off the park.
Obviously it can be distracting and undermining, but most of the players have really under-performed all season and there have been very, very few games where I could say we were outstanding or looked like a team that were enjoying their football.
There are too many factions and distractions within the camp and posts commenting on how players are signed or pushed into the team out-with the managers control, generates a lot of negativity/ doubt.

2.) 16 Mar 2016 18:55:08
Jungle Jim The posts you refer to originate by posters who have been anti R D since he came, or by the SMSM who have targeted him all season as they want Celtic to be in turmoil if and when the Rangers 2012 debut in the SPL . If we are Celtic supporters the very least we can do is get behind Manager and team and encourage Celtic to another SPL title .

3.) 16 Mar 2016 20:32:37
Chris, it's not the Scottish press and media who are responsible for our dwindling crowds. I would guess that most fans are staying away because they don't like the quality of football that is being served up.
I think that falling attendances are far more damaging to the club than anything written in the press.
I would suggest that if you want to carry on down this path, then it's you who are not the true supporter, as true supporters actually care about the state of our club and want us to be as good as they can be.
You seem more concerned about what's written in the press rather than the damage that is being done to our club from within.
Real fans care about the state of the club, they are not any less of a fan because they can see that something needs to change to reverse our clubs decline. They are certainly better supporters than people who just bury their heads in the sand and pretend that it's all the fault of referees or the newspapers.

4.) 16 Mar 2016 20:47:54
Old Bhoy. I just call it as I honestly see it and pay absolutely no attention to the biased media and gutter press of Scotland;
never having bought a red-top for decades or listened to any of the radio phone-ins or Celtic bashing by ex-currents.
It's not so long since you, yourself had a go at the manager and team as you must agree there is cause for concern -if not for this season - then, the direction the club are heading and standards slipping.
We all love and support the club, but Celtic have shown a ridiculous complacency and incompetency, since the death of Rangers and we have missed an historic opportunity to press home our advantage and thrive.

5.) 16 Mar 2016 20:55:04
Yeah let's all renew our season tickets and play happy families like everything is ok then hope the board listen to fans concerns about the manager. The club are panicking just now and should be addressing the managers position now as fans are turning their backs on ronnys team and that is why they are discounting tickets for Saturday. Why are they subsidising this Saturday but not home matches? Answer they think Ronny might actually lose the league and are desperate for support against one of the worst teams in the league.

6.) 16 Mar 2016 22:36:35
Any manager worth his salt will lap up the speculation as that's when he rallies the troops and gets the best out of them. So over to you Ronny.
Gerry I said on here weeks ago that you or I will not determine RDs outcome, the attendancies will.
Supporters vote with their feet and its obvious to everyone they are staying away in their droves.

7.) 16 Mar 2016 23:25:15
Rayman- a question:

Do you think Celtic will sell out their tickets for the game with Rangers?

8.) 17 Mar 2016 21:07:50
You would think that posters would have more to do with their time than posting continuously negative posts about the club they claim to follow but certainly don't support or build up any confidence in team or management .

9.) 17 Mar 2016 21:48:31
I'm still waiting for Rayman's answer.

Hope the club gives Ronny all the funds from Fosters sale to invest in new players. At present we haven't a chance of defeating Maribour and in truth we don't even deserve to be playing them

jesner

1.) Why should we not be playing Maribor legia broke the rules end of.killy.

players will want to play for a club with ambition. The Celtic Boards acceptance of the poor financial restraints in Scottish football is understandable and financially prudent but shows no ambition

No doubt that finances are all important. But in balance the team has to be strengthened in order to compete in Europe where success will generate more income and failure will leave is in the same financial wilderness as the rest of Scottish football. Therefore we must hold on to some of the "gems" evn if it means turning down potetntial massive profit on sale

Hi
Firstly a response to ed007 - what exactly do you mean when you write zionist plantation?
secondly to derrytim
Biton was aware of a small portion of the celtic support = green brigade - for the Palestinians (Celtic Football club sissociated themsleves from this minority group of supporters who do nothingbut harm the name of the team all over the world) - Biton didn't take a wage for ten years - he played football gallantly and gave his all for the team - was respected by the majority of Celtic supporters and shed tears when he left - for that he received a salary.

jesner

{Ed007's Note - Firstly if you look at what Britain done in Ulster with the Plantation of Ulster you'll see what I mean about a Zionist Plantation in Palestine - also done by Britain - where people were given land etc to colonise another country.
Secondly - and I am making this ABUNDANTLY clear - there is more than a small portion of the Celtic support, there are a lot more Celtic supporters than just the Green Brigade who support the Palestinian cause and have been doing since before a lot of the GB were actually born - if you know the history and all that....
This isn't some bandwagon that youngsters have jumped on like the Klan at Ibrox with their sudden love for Israel. I wonder how many of them have read "On the Jews and Their Lies" by Reformation Leader Martin Luther in 1543?
And finally, Celtic Football Club has never disassociated itself from the GB, not the board and not the most important people of all - the Celtic support.
You really should try and stick to the facts.
Oh and i can't resist - Bitton "played football gallantly and gave his all for the team" ????

its already too late. The league is gone. We all know the snowball effect. It starts small, grows in size gains momentum and speed and becomes unstoppable. NL is a great ambassador for the club - he deserves all the credit both as player and manager - but his time has come. The players are not motivated and that starts at the top with the manager. The team are in freefall will be out of Europe by Thursday night and after January 2nd if not before maybe third in the league. We can only help slow the decline not prevent it because that takes time. PL has to bring in a new manager today (tomorrow is too late) - the new manager has to sideline all the players - including the expensive high earners - who have given up trying and start from scratch.
