Our squad is massive at the moment and I feel we need to trim it.

Here is a list of players for each position. For the new signings I gave made an educated guess where I think they will play. I have also assumed a 4-2-3-1 formation.

So who do you think should go and what positions should we strengthen? I have put numbers beside the positions to show how many players I think should be in squad.


GK - Hart, Siegreist, Bain - 3

RB - Johnston, Ralston - 2
LB - Taylor, Bernabei - 2
CB - CCV, Starfelt, Nawrocki, Welsh, Scales, Kobayashi - 5

CM - McGregor, Hatate, Iwata, Kwon, Soro, McCarthy, Summers - 5

LW - Maeda, Johnston, Yang, Haksabanovic - 3
RW - Abada, Forrest, Tilio, Vata - 3
ACM - O'Riley, Holm, Turnbull - 3

ST - Kyogo, Oh, Ajeti - 3

NB - I did not include players out on loan.

That would be only 4 players too many.

Try and move on Soro, McCarthy, Ajeti and a forever injured Johnstone.
Maeda can also play as a striker and your list is sorted.

Add to what buzz said I would loan out kobayashi, vata and summers. I would look to get rid of seigrist if we can get another keeper in to compete with hart. I think maeda maybe deployed more as a striker so would like another winger. If all that happened I would be very happy.

Re squad for the coming season.

According to the Celtic FC website, if my arithmetic is correct, there are 32 first team squad players currently listed, plus, an additional 4 players currently out on loan.

By any stretch this is far too much and one way or another, it will be trimmed.

As well as this I'm sure BR would like to bring in a player or two that are 'his' signings.

Goalkeeper - Bain is junk and I presume gets a squad number due to nationality? Otherwise he'd be away, remember, this guy couldn't get a game when Barkas was throwing the ball in the net .

I'd love the Croatian keeper to come in which would likely mean Siegrist departs due to the above.

Defence - Welsh and Kobayashi I doubt will play at all, move them on.

I'd like to see the big Dutch lad brought in, Mbuyamba, if deemed good enough and incase there is genuine interest in Starfelt. Where does that leave Scales, loaned or sold?

Midfield - Soro and McCarthy I doubt have any future at CP and Turnbull is probably lucky he's Scottish as I don't believe he's come on as we'd hoped he would.

Forwards - Ajeti and Johnston need to go IMHO for obvious reasons.

The remainder of this month will make interesting viewing, time will tell.
