So what can Celtic expect from VAR

Starting against Hearts I predict Hearts will get a penalty for "unseen hand ball" Celtic will have at least one goal "disallowed" by VAR "whisper in ref ear".

Unless I’m missing something as far as I’m aware it’s the referees decision whether an incident is referred to VAR for checking or review and if and when an incident is referred irrespective of VAR the referee’s decision is final.

So the same knuckle crunching referees get to refer, review and decide. Pray tell why then does anybody think CCTV for football will make any difference or is remotely likely to work in our favour?

I've been continually skeptical of VAR in Scotland and unconvinced all along JFP. At the end of the day, it's all down to the array of all the usual suspects to maintain the 'honest mistake code'.

No that's not correct. The var team will automatically review any possible decision that could be a penalty, red card, or goal ect. If they think the refs made a mistake will advise the ref to take a second look on the monitor. For them to make the final decision.

VAR can only get involved with 4 different situations.
1- Straight Red Card offence.
Not Yellow or 2nd Yellow.
2- Goals.
If it should be a goal or should not be a goal.
3- Penalty.
If it should be a penalty or should not be a penalty.
4- Mistaken Identity.
If the wrong player is sent off.

JFP,
Our 1st VAR official is Steven McLean and he will be assisted by linesman David McGeachie.

The bottom line is the Freemasons ask the Orangemen what they think should be done with the Fenians.

You just have to see how many people in the game disagree during and after matches down south to see that it's all down to opinions and perceptions on any given day. I would like to keep an open mind but 60 years' experience of controversy, honest mistakes and even blatant cheating has left me slightly suspicious.

Can VAR be used in violent play that has been missed by the ref, does that come under the red card, if the violent play would have resulted in a red card if the ref had seen it, yes, think I have answered my own question.

Why can the paying customer not get to see what the ref is seeing from the VAR Monitor.
Why all this secrecy?
If they want to show they are trying to improve decisions then there should be no need to hide the review.
