Very disappointed in celtics statement tonight regarding KT. all this bulls##t about " we done everything to keep him". no they didn't, KT has the right to move as he wished but Celtic also had the right to say " he's not for sale". Let's not forget it was the club that accepted the fee suitable to them, so why not just come out wish the boy all the best and tell the fans it was an offer they felt they couldn't refuse?

I don't see anything wrong with the statement. We all here months ago that KT wanted to leave but loads on naive fans didn't want to believe it.

Wether KT wanted to leave or not kev isn’t the point. The point is the club issue a statement in which they say they done everything possible to keep KT. now I’m not suggesting the never tried, but the facts are that Celtic not once came out like the did with cal Mac and say” he’s not for sale”. that tells it's own story. If Celtic really didn’t want to sell KT then Celtic held all the cards, the boy was on a long term deal for god sake. If Celtic refused to sell, I don’t think KT would’ve kicked off big time spitting the dummy. The boy rightly would’ve been disappointed but he’s professional enough to get on with the job. Likewise KT made it clear to the powers that be that he wanted to go. so my point is why not just tell the fans like it is? Why not just come out and say “ yeah we wanted him to stay but the boy wanted to go. He’s given us everything and we felt we couldn’t stand in his way”. celtics statement is bollocks and any level headed fan can see that.

Did KT not have a release clause of 25 million?

{Ed007's Note - No. Release clauses are only legally binding when both clubs are in the same country.}

Gary they point was that THE PLAYER was pushing for a move.
Calmac doesn't not want to leave.
Tierney confirmed he wanted to leave in his statement.
What would be the point of keeping an unhappy player in the squad that could mess up the harmony when we are pushing for ten in a row.

You have no idea if teireny would spit the dummy out. Most fans didn't think he'd want to leave before the ten.
Celtic did try to keep him and there has already been rumours they broached the idea of a new contract and pay rise and KT killed the idea stone dead.
For me the statement was professional and to the point.

Professional and to the point, I’d have liked them to mention that they were more than willing to accept a suitable fee for KT aswell as telling everyone that KT was pushing for the move. At the end of the day kev we can debate it till the coo’s come home he’s away now and that’s it. As far as I’m concerned selling KT was always going to happen as since signing Jullien, Bolingoli and Elhamed we’ve been dead in the market even although Lennon has said umpteen times he needs this that and the next brought in . KT money was always important in what we done next in the market.

Not agreed with you much on the KT saga kev but I agree here. gary kt was asking for the move so the club let him leave why keep a player there who does not want to be here and this is why I have lost respect for kt pushing for a move going into a very important season for us.

Kev u say cal Mac doesn’t want to leave. u know that for sure do u? Reports this morning the rat came in at the 11 th hour for cal Mac only for mr Desmond to step in and make it clear it wasn’t happening. you seriously believe had that bid been accepted and cal Mac like KT was offered EPL football and life changing wages he’d have knocked it back?

Gary if calmac had asked for a move about 2 days after the cup final like KT did then we'd have all known about it for months like we did about KT.

I don’t dispute that Kev, all I’m saying is if an offer of £20 million say was made for cal mac and it’s was accepted by Celtic, are you telling me cal Mac would refuse the move?
