I think some guys need to relax a bit on here, the bottom line is we are stronger now than when the window opened.
We will sign a RB at some point I'm 100% certain of that.

I wouldn't have kept boyata. Guy was a bomb scare and could pass 5 yards.
Benkovic was good player but spent a good amount of time injured then hardly played under Lennon.

I'd say the only position on the field we are weaker now is right back.

Stronger balance sheet, that's about it. No RB, lost 2 CB's and at best we are like for like. The mob beat us twice last year and ran us close with 10 men. We need new faces to keep ahead, anyone who doesn't see that is deluded.

Kev benkovic lustig and boyata all made a contribution to winning the league mate. don't u agree? I was one of many who said lustig wast a first pick anymore but would make a more than decent back up, but if I’d known we wouldn’t replace him toljan or Gamboa I would rather have offered him a deal! But now we’re forced to play our best centre back at RB!

To say "we got rid off", I think you are being, at the very least, economical with the truth, Boyata was at end of contract, didn't want to stay, Benkovic went back at end of his loan, Lustiq was at end of contract, and I think the right decision was made in his case, in not offering him a contract that was to his liking, I think the right back position should have been sorted under Brendan's watch, and it should be made a priority in this window, . Overall I would not say that we are weaker than we were at the end of the season, in fact, if the signings so far work out, we might be stronger, wait and see.

Mark the fact one was a loan and one wanted away is neither here nor there, the original post said were stronger than the start of the window. We're definitely not stronger, we may be at the end of August but we're not as it is.

Nobody said benkovic wasn’t on loan or boyata wanted away or lustig maybe wasn’t up to being first pick but those 3 over the season made a big contribution and needed replaced! Izzagurie and toljan while not being great by any means need replaced! It’s simple maths really! We need bodies in for the squad! No right back at all, one fit left back ain’t good enough! But I agree there’s time left to go in the window yet to address it! Just hope it’s not to late in terms of the qualifiers.

We ain't stronger. No RB for a start. We haven't signed anyone who improves our starting 11 from last season. Jullien is a big money signing to replace benkovic who was a class act. Boli if signed as a backup to KT is an improvement for the bench rather than Emilio. Luca is a project who will hopefully become good enough in time for starting 11.

And now we have a utility man who is rumoured to be fighting it out to be new RB but that isn't his natural position. Every year we flirt with this situation and leave ourselves a little vulnerable to missing out on CL. We got by a couple of times but we got caught out last season so its a gamble. But then again so is every signing as well. Must be rotten being a manager lol.

Lh86 I would have kept lustig but not boyata.
He was a bomb scare and everyone one knows it. He cause sheer panic everytime he had the ball.
Our defence looked a lot better with Ajer and simi in it IMO.
As for benko yes he was a good player but he only played 20 games and not all of them were full games so I think people are going over the top in his contribution to the team.
In fact rogic played more games and that's saying something.

Personally the only one of the players we have let go id have kept was lustig.

If we look at the squad I'd say
Goal keeper- same strength
Right back - weaker
Centre back- same strength when everyone up to speed.
Left back- stronger.
Midfield- same strength
Attack- strange one here because no new player but with everyone now available for the season I'd say stronger.

Now I do think we are still in need of several player but I don't think we are weaker because almost all of the players that left made no contribution.

Work to be done but not time to panic would be my assessment.

We were not caught out last season because of not signing player. We were screwed to the wall by Dembele and boyatas actions. One forced a move on last day and other refused to play
If both were there we'd have cruised through.

How are we weaker?, we now have KT and Boli at left back, we have Ralston at right back, (give the boy a run, to establish himself, prove himself, either up to the job or not, ) , if Lustiq was still here, the loyalty, sentimentality thing would mean he would automatically be picked before Ralston, we are less an unhappy, unprofessional player in Boyata, who let us down big time by refusing to play in Greece, the French guy might be a big improvement on Boyata, we don't know

I totally agree that we are not stronger we still as has been for two/ three years have not sorted rb yet . ch I would say we are better boyata chucked toys out Oran wanted away nothing we could do about that? Benko great ch but do we really miss him injured half loan so would say no we don’t as julienne is here and for me Ajer starts every time . also simo still as back up. Boli at mo as back up to Tierney again stronger . so midfield no change really except Morgan Shved to come in so basically same as last year? Strikers same as last year. so just rb to sort otherwise we are better as last year or well much the same . and there’s plenty time and money to be spent calm☘️☘️☘️☘️.

While I don’t fully agree with Roy I do see kind of what he is saying. We are stronger in left back department at the moment with Boli being added. Big Julien is our player not a loan player so that is an improvement and for me Boyata head is full of wee motors because to leave our great club to go to German who doesn’t achieve much is to have no ambition .

I agree with the Bats sentiments on out of the players who have left who was contributing and how much will we miss them?

The fact is my friends is Bayo and Griff are back Shved has came in Christie will be back and young Arzani is to come into the set up.

So we are not weaker by any means. Could we be stronger is the question? Yes. and as I have said before we will be before the season starts.

Some guy's get it and some don't, some are pur panic merchants and some aren't.

When the window opened we had 3 CB's now we have 4
We had 1 LB now we have 2
We are about to sign a CB who can cover at RB

A good RB and a good box to box midfielder and possibly a keeper although it looks like big Hazzard will be 3rd choice now and we are good to go

Aindoh what I mean is they were both starters when fit, in boyatas case willing, u telling me u wouldn't have extended benkovic loan? I get your opinion on boyata but he was a regular starter and needed replaced. don't know how anyone can just assume big jullien is as good as benkovic without seeing him play. I hope he's better but I thought toljan wouldve been better than lustig and we know how that turned out. Im happy to wait till the end of the window cos I don't think we're done with transfers.

Steph I wouldn't have been in a hurry to extend benkos loan deal to be honest. What the point if we couldn't get him on the park? IMO his loan deal was not a success.
He wasn't available for enough games.

This must be one of the longest and most topical subject for a while; One of most important things for me, was to get shot of all the dead wood and surplus wage-spongers and that's under way.
The main objective since Lustig started to show 'creaks' and lapses was to get a right back - and for the third/ fourth window in a row we are still waiting and that is a concern.
The move for Turnbull, showed we were seriously trying to replace Armstrong and cover Christie - and that is still an option?
Our centre-backs are covered, as are the wings and if LG and Bayo manage to get fitness and form eventually sorted, we will be able to play Eddy in his best position and reap the benefit. - although another type of striking option would be good insurance.
Cal-Mac should be played more and more in the Broony role, while Ntcham and Rogic should be moved on and replaced if we get bids.
Bain is competent enough, but I would like stronger competition than Gordon if he shows any losses of form or confidence lapses.
Shved, Arzani, Henderson, Morgan and the already mentioned Bayo, are all like new signings - waiting for their chance as well.
Other concerns/ issues for me is to tie up Cal-Mac, Forrest, Ajer Christe and Eddy on great deals, improve the quality and end product of corners and dead-ball situations and for NL to sort things out with Sinclair before we lose a very important player.

Kev I do believe Dembele was injured, I was there when he cam off against Alashkert at Celtic Park and again he didn't feature until last 20mins against AEK Athens. When he did come on it was only point in that time where we actually looked the more dangerous team.
