i think gordon will prove a really good signing for us. he's obviously been training with us a long time to prove his injuries are behind him now

also not slating forster or anything but gordon will come at corners/free kicks/crosses and get rid. ed what you make on this signing mate?

do yous all think its the end for forster at celtic?

{Ed007's Note - It's a massive risk. I'm a firm believer that GK is the one position you should never gamble on. GKs are rarely out injured with short-term niggling knocks, if a GK is injured it is usually mid to long term, so if Gordon is to be Forster's understudy and gets injured we are playing a dangerous game having Gordon as No.2, if he was to get inured we could have a serious problem on our hands.
If Gordon is to be our No.1 then we're plumbing the depths of desperation. I can't understand people who say it's a no risk signing, there's the risk of him being our No.1 and getting injured in September when the window is closed or even worse qualifying for the CL and he is our No.1.
Gordon will never be able to claw back the time he has missed and perform to the level he has in the past, his natural instinct and reactions won't be as sharp. I'd also have to, for now anyway, question his subconscious confidence in his own body to challenge in the air and throw his body around in a crowded penalty area. Being put through training drills is a lot different from actually playing in a competitive match.
This deal will more than likely end up being classed alongside the likes of Gravesen and Ljungberg. And let's not forget what happened with Steven Mouyokolo last season.}

I cannot understand this signing . I think with over two years out it will take far too long for him to get his timing and confidence back . It will be difficult for a team that is used to dealing with dead ball situations changing to one that comes out for everything . Mistakes and red faces all round .

Surely he has been brought in as a back up keeper.

With Craig Gordon you don't lose that class. He may have had his injuries but like Henrik there will be a mental challenge post injury and I'm sure he will rise to it. To be likened to has beens like Gravesen (he wasn't that bad!) and Ljungeberg is a bit harsh. A one year deal max would have been better.

{Ed007's Note - 'With Craig Gordon you don't lose that class'. Just let that sink in for a minute everyone, and no laughing at the back.
Look at GK around the same age, Boruc, Valdes, Petr Cech, Casillas and Reina have all deteriorated over the last 4 years whilst playing consistently for their teams, Cassilas captained the WC winners four years ago and look at his performances in Brazil.
Gordon has spent those 4 years battling injuries to his knees and broken arms, he's has played less than 20 matches in those four years yet 'With Craig Gordon you don't lose that class'. Unbelievable! Has Dr Fuentes been treating him?}

Some people must think that after his 27month sabbatical Gordon has comeback as good as ever . I doubt that, maybe he is signed to bring on Fasan . I doubt that too, we will probably have to get use to him .
