Just wondering if all this activity is PL just collecting money for greeds sake or if we are after the 2 players we need.
Not bothered about JS going he didn't want to play for the club that's obviously clear for all to see.
Hope to get a good creative player though as we will need one.
Thoughts?

Buddybhoy as we near the end of probably one of our most productive transfer windows in getting quality players in for areas we need and moving on players B R doesn't regard as of much benefit to us, what do u think P L is collecting the money for . ? Is it for his own personal use . I think he would hardly be so foolish to put his well paid job in jeopardy.

Old Bhoy

I think you may have missed a point…is it not conceivable that the riches could go to the executive team…the management team…and bonuses to players …as opposed to physical on the park investment to reward the fans for putting up with EURO torture?

I am not saying that PL is doing this or that but rightly or wrongly some fans may look at the season ticket sales, the short sponsorship deals, the CL qualification, and then work through the ins/ outs and conclude that we haven't actually INVESTED…we have basically dismantled a squad (rightly moving on players BR doesn't rate) and bringing in quality first team players (which is all well and good)

But where there could be an issue is where CFC are deemed to be sitting with a cash pile (physically or to flow through) and we haven't actually spent any of it.

I'm in business and so I well understand that some of the windfall may in fact be going back in to the pot to cover up the sins of financial misalignment relative to a bloated squad and wage bill (with many many ineffective players taking their "cut") …and so some of the windfall may be about RECOVERING the financial safe haven that we as Celtic fans seem to cherish (all good) …but its right to shine a light on the pluses and the minuses ….

to give you an example (albeit slightly absurd) …would you be happy if you found out that BR's annual wage has now doubled as a result of CL qualification taking his earnings to over £5m (with more to follow for a leave win and cups) …the reason I ask is that many fans would have thought the windfall would go in to player recruitment …some might well go in to player recruitment …but the point is that many/ many will become richer as a result of CFC's qualification …. that would stick in the craw a little if we had to watch our beloved hoops get routinely destroyed (due to direct investment)

By the way, I think PL does a great job and key stakeholders will know what he gets/ earns and know what bonuses he is on linked to financial performance of the overall operation ….

I'm in Business - that's a good line.

just a thought - as we know Scottish football is prated - 3 or 4 clubs could easily go under - I think was the quote.

Can anyone clarify exactly when we see this 30 million in cold hard cash.

Perhaps we simply do not have the actual cash to splash this very second.

I'm sure some of you have seen the latest biannual balance sheet - has it even showing a profit.

That's a more realistic position of our current cash at bank status - not some in coming £30m (which I have seen reported as low as £20m) .

No doubt we are in a good position financial and the team is squaring up nicely - but perhaps we just can't put our hands on £10m rfn.

I'm in Business (Christ I'm at it now) and sometimes cash flow is in the toilet in even the most seemingly sound companies.

Sinclair is a very good player and would be a classy addition to the squad. I don't think Celtic could afford his wages though if honest. Defence should be the priority at the minute though.
