Can someone tell me, why Kwon doesn't get a game . Has he fell out with BR.

Many players regress when they travel to a distant Country to play football. Some pick up a bad lifestyle, and this can affect their playing . If he eventually deserved a chance he may grasp it with open arms and become a Celtic star.

We have a long list of players who never quite made the breakthrough either home-grown or 'imported'. There's also situations where one manager sees things differently from his predecessor and so on.

Kobayashi got a chance and doesn't look suited to our game maybe keon the same. if he was good enough and showing up in training why would rhe manager not play him. makes no sense.

Not necessarily so mally joey dawson before his injury was a goal a game in the b team but never got a sniff vata standout in b team doesn't get a chance.

{Ed007's Note - The step up from B team level to Celtic's first team is probably as big as it has ever been. A young professional playing well against part-timers doesn't mean they should be getting a chance in the first team.
Considering our B team is sitting 11th in the league - 19 points behind the leaders East Kilbride, we've scored 29 goals whereas E.K have scored 50 and Hearts 47 - I seriously doubt we'll see any of them make the step-up because they're simply not good enough, like Vata.
Until Celtic - and the rest of the SPFL - move to a proper reserve league we will continually lose our best young players because they will become better players moving elsewhere, there is no clear pathway at Celtic for youngsters to progress and that's been the case for years and will continue to the case for the foreseeable future unless there is major changes to the youth set up.
Liam Morrison & Barry Hepburn might never make it into the Bayern Munich first team but they will become far better players than they would have if they had stayed at Celtic.}

The stats guys are worryingly reporting that having obtained Kwon, Yang and indeed Lagerbielke data before joining Celtic there is nothing to have justified why they were recruited.

Drb a was meaning first team ready players mate. hexwas bought to play ad have thought . that's 6 to 7 months brendans been watching him. he's clearly not been showing up. again why would we not play vata if es better than what we've got in first team.

I totally agree with Ed. Just bcause they look good at B level, the step up to the first team is huge and when they get the chance of training with the first team, the gap is clearly obvious.

I don't think Vata, who is highly regarded by some (and humself) is anywhere near first team quality. He doesn't have a turn of pace frim what I have seen.

Until our league and those that run it realise the potential we are losing by not having proper stepping stone leagues to top Division football, our national team will suffer, as will the majority of SPL teams.

There is literally no infrastructure or investment in our young players that would encourage them to remain here.

It is really sad situation which even our club will not do anything to improve. We re apparently happy buying young players from other clubs, as they do from us.

Kwon was terrible in the one game I seen him in now I appreciate that's early on but it was as if he'd never seen a football before.

I think Vata’s big problem is that his father was a professional footballer and among the clubs he played, was Celtic . When young Vata wasn’t becoming the child prodigy his father thought he was, his father hawked him across Europe, many clubs looked but none were prepared to pay the nominal fee Celtic wanted . I think many fans are using Vata as an example of our recruitment/ manager not knowing the job, instead of. Vata not been first team quality. Let’s hope he finds the correct level and goes on to become as good a pro footballer as he can.

The sad reality is, that because our managers are under considerable pressure to win and our squad is bloated, it is highly unlikely a youngster will even make our bench, never mind our first team.

Brutal Ed but spot on. He's no different to the youngsters we buy, if they are not good enough they don't play, doesn't matter if they are home grown. Sentimentality can't play a part.

{Ed007's Note - There's no middle ground between the B team and the first team and it's too big a gap. We either need to bring back the old type reserve league, get our youngsters out on loan for a year at a decent level and then decide if they have a future at Celtic.}

talking to mr mc grain on wednesday night at no 7 lounge he a badge on i did not recognised it was an old time celtic GREAT i told him i saw his first game for celtic at right back i told everybody he would never make it as a football player people talk about young player not making the grade that young player was mr billy mc neil just goes to show never judge a young player till they mature.
