Regarding anger at board.

I'm sensing a level of frustration with boards lack of ambition and a growing awareness of their failures.

The Peter Lawell 'God Delusion' has been smashed. We failed in Europe for 18 years under his tenure as CEO.

Mark Lawell the former City Group Scouting Information and Content Manager has serious question marks over his experience and ability.

Michael Nicholson was Peter Lawell's number two we can imagine how the dynamics of that relationship is working with the boss back. He was there for 10 years as Company Secretary before Dom McKay was appointed CEO.

If he was the man for the job why was he not appointed CEO at that stage and McKay brought in?

Nepotism is fine if you're the best available.

They are not the reason for Celtics business success they are not entrepreneurs they're risk averse lawyers and accountants.

We have £72 million in bank because of us not because of Peter Lawell, Mark Lawell or Michael Nicholsons business acumen.

Peter Lawell is a millionaire because we made him a millionaire.

But they are the reason for our failure as a football club. They probably know as much about football as you and me. The board is an echo chamber with two other board members having 40 years service between them.

Do they only communicate with the proletariat when they're selling Champions League packages, season tickets or merchandise to punt?

If nothing changes nothing will change.

All your questions JFP need answered and many more.

I worry if our fans voice our disgust, it could affect our players in a negative way but then again they’re professionals and the criticism isn’t directed at them.

I would rather have a positive atmosphere at the games but our fans are rightly frustrated.

I’ve said it before,
The Celtic fans always look at the bigger picture because we’re not mugs.

It’s a positive Celtic don’t have a home match for our next 3 games.
The atmosphere at home to Killie on the 17th will be determined by our next 3 results.

Great post JFP
We have just come out of the sh1tiest of sh1ty mcsh1ty transfer windows on top of the summer disaster and none of us are the least bit surprised.
Rodgers repeatedly stated we need 4 players of quantity in, meaning 4 first team starters, instead we got Kuhn who is maybe halfway there.
He repeatedly stated we don’t need any more projects, so we get another prospect that half of Norwich are calling one of the worst players to play for the club. (Not his fault and he will get my support whilst on the pitch)
Mark Lawwell as you have eloquently pointed out was nowhere near qualified for his role at the club. He has overseen the transfers of 17 players, of those 17 Palma is a first team regular that divides opinion, Nawroki gets game time because CCV is injured and Bernado because Hatate is injured.
That makes 1 out of 17 (6%) are a success.
Peter Lawwell whether he is involved in transfer business or a million miles away from it is now a toxic and divisive figure at our club and needs to go. I would estimate that now more than 50% of fans cannot stand him and I don’t see any harmony until he retires to enjoy the millions he has made from us.
It cannot be co-incidence that in his time away we signed CCV O’Riley Starfelt Jaka Hatate Kyogo Juranovic Maeda &Jota.
It cannot be co-incidence the since he walked in the front door our last European knock out win walked out the back.
Finally on Lawwell every time he turns up a the AGM and tells us how wonderful he is and the cracks a sh1tty inappropriate joke about The Rangers whilst laughing at us I feel like smacking his smug puss.
That brings me to the rest of the board, all of the been there far too long, modern successful businesses turn over their directors every 4 to 6 years to keep everyone fresh and keep new ideas coming through. As you say JFP some of ours have been there for over 20 and are starting to resemble the old board and we know how that ended.
But it is not just the board we have 3 Strachans 2 Lawwells and 2 Desmond’s involved in running parts of the club, that’s not just nepotism it’s just plain lazy.
So given the impasse between the board and the fans what do we do about it as they won’t listen or communicate.
Starve them of monies? We can’t not renew our season ticket us we want to go see the club we love and are fearful of losing our seat for years to come, my grandson has been on the waiting list for years without any joy.
We can’t stop buying merchandise or food as the allows the club across the city to close the gap.
So protest is the only thing we have left and I don’t mean the type of protest to get NL out with the chucking of barriers etc, but we need organised peaceful but loud protests outside of Celtic park on a regular basis, we have enough bloggers and X users with big followings to organise this.
We also need regular protests during the games perhaps ‘sack the board’ chants on the 72cd minute to signify the monies hoarded in the bank.
Anyway thanks for reading - rant over.

We’re on the same page 100%.

I’ve just had the same conversation with a few season ticket holders asking how can we hurt the board without damaging the team or our title challenge.

But if you remember 30 years ago and the Kelly and White dynasty change won’t come easy and these ba$tards are not for going anywhere soon.

But until they are removed willingly or otherwise it will be different day same $hi*te rinse and repeat.

Personally for me I’m of an age that I’ve had a season ticket and watched Celtic longer to date than I’ll ever have one or will watch them again.

Celtic is a massive part of my life
the emotional attachment the whole social aspect of going to the game with my laddie and meeting friends before and after and I have grandkids I’m looking forward to taking.

I was seriously unwell 10 years back and couldn’t go to games. I remember my first game back walking up the stairs and seeing the park again hearing the Celtic ding and the tears running down my face.

So as much as I detest Peter Lawell particularly and the board with a passion I’m not willing to give up my season tickets and they know that and that there are thousands like me although if they had a long term vision they’d be asking is there is another 60,000 to fill the current 60,000s seats?

I don’t think so remember the closed upper tires under Ronnie Delia. But they’re only interested in asking whether they can milk us and feather their nest the rest of their lifetime.

I’d said a while back apparently Native American Indians didn’t make a decision without considering how it would impact the next two generations. That was Fergus McCanns thinking when he wrote to season ticket holders and told us he’d build us a new 60,000 seater stadium and we’d have 50,000 season tickets with 10,000 on a waiting list. I thought he was bonkers.

But he was an entrepreneur and a visionary when the best the Kelly’s and Whites could come up with was wasting £1/ 2m to seat the old jungle the previous year.

Deja vu.

Otherwise in any other circumstance or treated with the same contempt by anybody I’d tell them to ram their season tickets where the sun doesn’t shine.

An abusive relationship.
