Joe Hart is definitely NOT a penalty goalkeeper, can only recall him making one save from one and that was last week.

Boruc on the other hand saved us many a game with his stops and wish he was young enough to still be our no 1.

Buzz, have you any stats that tell you how many points JH has lost us by not saving penalties?

Going into Europe I think it would be crucial getting someone in who can save penalties.

Joe Hart is that bad at penalties he should just dive to the opposite side from where he thinks it’s going. He’d end up a penalty master Lmao!

SoSBhOy, if we were involved in a major trophy penalty decider after extra time I feel we would be in dire straits. Joe is probably the worst I have seen in nearly 70 years watching the Bhoys. He is at his best when he has no time to think.

I think I've only felt confident of a penalty save in recent years when Forster or Boruc were in goal. Although, I remember young Hazard performing well in the shoot-out in the Cup Final against Hearts to win our quadruple treble in 2020.

Definitely the worst keeper that I've ever seen when it comes to penalties. and that includes the women's game. Pretty sure a link keeper would save more too :p.

Joe Hart actually had an impressive penalty saving record of 26% ( 1 in 4 ) before he joined Celtic.

But he has faced 14 competitive penalties for Celtic and he’s conceded 13 times.
The only exception was when Liam Boyce hit the post at Tynecastle.

Craig Gordon was horrendous at penalties for us but typically had to save one in that shootout final we won where Hazard was the hero.

In defence of Graig Gordon, he saved a penalty against Beer Sheva in our final 2016 CL qualifier. Had he not saved it, we were out on away goals and kissing goodbye to 20M+. That’s every bit as important (and possibly more so) than most penalty saves in our history.

Craig Gordon faced 21 competitive penalties for Celtic and he conceded 19 times.

The only exceptions was a save against Beer Sheva and Hearts struck a penalty over the bar.
