Well Mr DD will have to unlock the purse strings if he wants his season ticket and merchandise sales, I know we stick by the team but I can't honestly see us selling over 50k season tickets unless their is a change of direction with the appointment of a top level management team.

I'm going to go against the grain here, and back the board (with one exception) . This was a huge season, for 2 reasons. Obviously the 10IAR but secondly the easier route to CL footy, and the £bounty attached in a year when revenues will be through the floor. The Ferencvaros game should have spelt the end for Lennon imo. Playing a lower standard team, at home with no striker, in what was the biggest game in the first quarter of the season by a mile? Alarm bells should have rung loud and clear at that point, and for me that was the start of the downward spiral and from there I think performances seriously demonstrated the lack of belief in our coach/ manager. At that stage, in a
year when it was clear revenues would be hammered, the board had backed the team by retaining all the players and signing Barkas, Ajeti, Klimala, Moi, Laxalt, Taylor, Turnbull, Soro. and the marquee signing Duffy. We were delighted with the squad when the window shut. Any sane fan cannot look at that list and hand on heart say that the board have not invested or backed the team. The only omission is perhaps Forster- would the CL revenue have enabled us to sign him? Who knows, but it's certainly a factor.
Fast forward a few months, and it's clear things are not going well- we had a great opportunity mid October to make changes with the dead rubber EL games and international break, but the board, for whatever reason stood by their man. Cracks continue to be papered over (3-3 hearts!? ) And we crawled from result to result, ending in a trip to Ibrox, on the 2nd January in what was a must win game. Take the result aside, sometimes these things happen, better team loses etc etc. Fact is, our season ended there and then and that is the real travesty, and this sits firmly with the board. Their indecision throughout the biggest season in a generation has got us to the stage where the season is finished at new year. Not through lack of investment, not through a lack of desire to see the 10, but a dithering approach when it was clear to all there was deep rooted issues with the management team, and they chose to stick two fingers up at everyone and say they knew best. That's the bigger issue here- Lennon was finished (after the Ferencvaros game imo) but the lack of a plan, and stubborness of the board in the face of a glaring issue the whole world could see.
Lennon is finished, but they will allow him to stumble to the finish line. Hopefully we can get an experienced coach to work with the huge amount of youthful talent in team, and dominate for years to come next season. But for now, lack of investment certainly can't be levelled at the board. But stubborness and a lack of planning can be. I'm beyond angry, but we just need to start again. Only ray of sunshine is the financial situation across the city (look at their pitch! ) Must be absolutely dire, and winning the league won't get them out of that hole. But forgot them- we need positive action, and a coaching team, not a hard headed manager.
