Favourite thing today? We got a breakaway for the second goal, and Whea played a pass INTO SPACE for the runner to carry on the momentum and get forward. I've said for ages, the most frustrating thing was when we attach and the ball gets played to feet (or behind) rather than into space for the runner. Brilliant goal. Huge game on Wednesday. I fancy Aberdeen to get something, could be another small nail if we win. 🏆.

Watching Leicester today- astonished Benkovic is not being recalled. We look rock solid compared to them. If they get a new manager before the window closes we can say goodbye to him I reckon.

Im not buying that. Leicester City have reassured club and benkovic that he will be here till end of season.

2.) 19 Jan 2019 15:30:20
philtim88, Claude Puel said he has no plans to recall him but he could change his mind. Also if he gets the boot then a new manager may want him back right away. To the best of my knowledge Leicester CAN recall him if they wish and they are perfectly entitled to do so as he's their player. We all hope they won't but we'll be in a bit of a spot if they do. HH.

'recruitment required' 'not good enough' 'players are poor' 'manager got it wrong' etc etc. We have lost one (1!) Game in 70 and it seems we are in a bit of a crisis.
I think the players are just tired/ jaded given the number of games played, PLUS the mental fatigue of keeping an unbeaten run going. Yes Boyata and Gordon don't suit the play from the back method, yes Ntcham should probably have started, yes Dembele looked off the pace (was Griffith's any better?! ) And yes perhaps teams are finding out that we don't like being pressed high up the pitch.
BUT the manger has got things right for the last 70 games, transfer window coming up which he has already said will be used to freshen things up, and the team is away for some R&R and hopefully some good weather training.
Will come back firing on all cylinders hopefully, finish off the treble and maybe give Zenit a bit of a fright.
It was a disappointing performance and result, but it's not a crisis and we certainly ain't in trouble.
Enjoy the good times!

Well said Neilbhoy.

2.) 30 Dec 2017 22:59:54
aye well said the hindsight experts and armchair fitba managers on here are murder. years since we've had it so good. ho ho ho seasons greetings.

3.) 30 Dec 2017 23:25:14
At last a bit of sense, with the emergence of Ralston we could have three of a back four in him KY and Ajer that could still be playing for us in TEN years. Every Sevco fan would swap places with us we need the break more than ever we have nearly hit every target that was set at the start of the season

1) Retain League cup

2) CL qualification and European football after Christmas

3) A ten points lead at the top.

Report card read's so far so good.

4.) 31 Dec 2017 00:38:52
All targets just about met and a manager in charge of Sevco who knows his clubs place in Scotland by saying an atmosphere 2nd to none and basically saying it was an honour to play in such an arena. PMSL bet that went down well wi the Sevie support😂😂😂.

5.) 31 Dec 2017 13:47:23
Ralston for me is not going to be our first pick RB. He’s nowhere near the level of KT and he still has lots to learn and achieve.

Lustig and Gambo need let go with a good first team level RB brought in.

6.) 31 Dec 2017 16:08:27
He’s 18.

7.) 01 Jan 2018 10:20:27
You haven't won 4 games in a row in the league this season so far - even a piss poor Rangers side have managed it!

Afternoon all- does anyone know a pub around the city of London (bank/ barbican/ St Paul's triangle) where the game will be on tonight? Cheers!

1.) 01 Nov 2016 16:14:05
It's a bit outside that area, and going back a few years but i gigged at a celtic pub round from euston station called the cock tavern. Give them a bell mate. Don't use the digs.

2.) 01 Nov 2016 16:16:18
Don't know in that area
But if you can't find hop on a tube to Piccadilly Circus and go the Sports Bar at the bottom of Haymarket .100% on there.

3.) 01 Nov 2016 16:26:36
Thanks Jim!

4.) 01 Nov 2016 17:04:02
No worries pal. The pub itself was actually fine lol. Try what paulbhoy said if you get no joy but remember the Goonies are also playing tonight.

5.) 01 Nov 2016 17:09:23
Wouldn't go in that cock tavern. I went to watch Aberdeen game last year. Was a bit dodgy. There is a oneils out side k8ngs cross station that will show it. Went in there for 2nd half of that game.

6.) 01 Nov 2016 18:50:20
Reckon O'Neils in Soho will also have it. I'm down in Croydon watching on BT if ye fancy bringing a few cans round lol.

7.) 01 Nov 2016 21:40:45
Cheers lads - found the matchpint.co.uk website. Pretty nifty.

So, brilliant stuff, great game and the first 45 mins were breathtaking. Happy with the result, and think the breaks/ decisions/ deflections etc evened themselves out.

However, Rogic was breathing out of his arse after 35 mins, and whilst he looks a great player week in week out, we can't continually be subbing someone at half time (or thereabouts) . Surely he is more effective coming on for the last 30 minutes than struggling for the first 60.until we get his fitness sorted out which better be soon!

Still, a good result, it was men vs men and really enjoyed the game. Need to get 25 Year old players fully match fit though! Waste of a jersey otherwise!

Need Rogic to start and last if not need Armstrong to step up believe he is capable not as good as Rogic but fitter.

Are you lot bonkers? 'defense is the problem' 'right back is the problem' 'sack the board' 'we can't defend for toffee' etc etc. Oh wait, let's bring in a winger that hasn't played for a year and an half cause we need to' unlock defences'. FML.

Rogers noted the other night how fit his Leicester team is, and how many late goals they score. We used to be like that, absolute opposite now. It's the first thing a new manager will say, guaranteed. I do continue to wonder what the board are actually looking at and seeing.

The ten was lost when action wasn't taken in October when it was clear to all things had to change. Them dropping a couple of beans nothing sadly.

I'm going to go against the grain here, and back the board (with one exception) . This was a huge season, for 2 reasons. Obviously the 10IAR but secondly the easier route to CL footy, and the £bounty attached in a year when revenues will be through the floor. The Ferencvaros game should have spelt the end for Lennon imo. Playing a lower standard team, at home with no striker, in what was the biggest game in the first quarter of the season by a mile? Alarm bells should have rung loud and clear at that point, and for me that was the start of the downward spiral and from there I think performances seriously demonstrated the lack of belief in our coach/ manager. At that stage, in a
year when it was clear revenues would be hammered, the board had backed the team by retaining all the players and signing Barkas, Ajeti, Klimala, Moi, Laxalt, Taylor, Turnbull, Soro. and the marquee signing Duffy. We were delighted with the squad when the window shut. Any sane fan cannot look at that list and hand on heart say that the board have not invested or backed the team. The only omission is perhaps Forster- would the CL revenue have enabled us to sign him? Who knows, but it's certainly a factor.
Fast forward a few months, and it's clear things are not going well- we had a great opportunity mid October to make changes with the dead rubber EL games and international break, but the board, for whatever reason stood by their man. Cracks continue to be papered over (3-3 hearts!? ) And we crawled from result to result, ending in a trip to Ibrox, on the 2nd January in what was a must win game. Take the result aside, sometimes these things happen, better team loses etc etc. Fact is, our season ended there and then and that is the real travesty, and this sits firmly with the board. Their indecision throughout the biggest season in a generation has got us to the stage where the season is finished at new year. Not through lack of investment, not through a lack of desire to see the 10, but a dithering approach when it was clear to all there was deep rooted issues with the management team, and they chose to stick two fingers up at everyone and say they knew best. That's the bigger issue here- Lennon was finished (after the Ferencvaros game imo) but the lack of a plan, and stubborness of the board in the face of a glaring issue the whole world could see.
Lennon is finished, but they will allow him to stumble to the finish line. Hopefully we can get an experienced coach to work with the huge amount of youthful talent in team, and dominate for years to come next season. But for now, lack of investment certainly can't be levelled at the board. But stubborness and a lack of planning can be. I'm beyond angry, but we just need to start again. Only ray of sunshine is the financial situation across the city (look at their pitch! ) Must be absolutely dire, and winning the league won't get them out of that hole. But forgot them- we need positive action, and a coaching team, not a hard headed manager.

Jullien is a congerton signing. Says it all.

It has to be a 3 if Jullien is playing. He needs two centre halves beside him because he is so slow. Congerton signing- apparently no pace, dead once turned and can't play in a back 4.🤔.
