Not a rumour but just wondered if given commons recent form do we need to buy a striker. Read today that he has scored 14 goals in league this season which was already more than hooper did last season. Maybe we should play him as an out an out striker and use funds for other positions. We already have 5 strikers at club in stokes, balde, pukki, frimjonson and bangura. Thoughts

Commons has had to step up as the strikers we have at the club are rank.
He is one of the most talented players we have and has shown it at CL level.
We need to add MORE quality to the team - especially strikers - as we are relying far too much on him.
Commons deserves to have better players alongside him and we need to get back to a decent CL level or we will continue to go backwards and end up losing all our decent players.

JJ commons has done well this season but I don't remember him being good in CL But we do need a penalty box striker or maybe not if the new bhoy can't spell his name or balde get a run in the team and score a few

3.) 20 Jan 2014
I can't believe people are seriously coming out with this. YES, we need a striker who can score goals! What happens when Commons goes through a dry spell and we don't have another natural goalscorer? We just got through a baron run of no goals?

Not celtic related, but may be of interest
to fans who are undecided as who to vote for in any future elections.A Ukip official in scotland is at the centre of a bigotry row after saying Glasgow City Council was for Gays, Catholics, and Communists. Also said there is more chance of winning the lottery two weeks running than getting a rangers supporting msp into the institutionally catholicised pretendy parliament.Read this in the Daily Express, would imagine this could cost a few votes, her name is Misty Thackeray.jimbhoy.

Is she for independence or against, forty am not that clued up on it all but it sure will help me vote the opposite of her. A would imagine this would be front page news tomorrow

It's Arthur Misty Thackeray, a male who is head of UKIP. Well known for anti-gay, sexist and Islamophobic posts on , Twitter, etc. What surprises you about this backward party and their shock speeches?

7.) 20 Jan 2014
I'll say in full confidence that Kris kross Commons is one of the finest footballers to grace our club in a long time. I'm a firm admirer of the bhoy but in no way is he a striker. I think he plays best in behind and that's where he should remain. Not born a striker we would only get on his back if he dried up. Long may his goals continue. But not the answer.

Arthur Misty Thackeray, the acting chair of UKIP in Scotland, has come under fire recently after it emerged he had published a series of anti-gay and Islamophobic posts on , including comments that the Glasgow City Council stood for “gays, Catholics, communists.”

According to The Sunday Herald, Mr Thackeray has been accused of making “racist, bigoted, and homophobic comments” since the posts were made public.

In 2011, he wrote: “Real Catholicism and Real Islamism are far from antagonists with both having an outwardly benign image but inwardly sharing a fascist ideology of extreme submissive conservatism and imperialism …”

Later, he also criticised the local authority in Scotland: “No wonder the blue half of my city say G.C.C actually stands for the Glasgow Celtic Council for Gays Catholics Communists eh.lol. NS!”

Also in 2011, he wrote: “You have to witness a Glasgow election count night to understand the extent of islamist influence within the SNP and Labour … last time out I thought we were contesting a seat in Pakistan.lol.”

Last night, SNP MEP Alyn Smith called on Mr Thackeray to be removed, saying: “These racist, bigoted and homophobic comments are totally unacceptable.”

Mr Thackeray, defending his position, said: “It is rather difficult to respond with any degree of accuracy to random comments allegedly made on a social network several years ago and now presented out of context by a newspaper with a clearly anti-Ukip editorial line.

“Such comments when taken in context would be considered merely routine social commentary by any experienced observer of Scottish political and cultural life.”

He also said he felt “very strongly” in upholding “hard-won freedoms” such as freedom of speech.

“Many in today’s society have become accustomed to sugar-coated language, ” he added, “but it goes without saying it is never my intention to cause needless offence.”

Life's too short to give some of these folk the time of day. Full of hate!

11.) 20 Jan 2014
The ultimate form of discrimination is economic.
Look at the latest Oxfam report winner takes all ( now I am not a fan of Oxfam but they seem to have hit some truth) The top 85 people yes that's people have more wealth than the lowest 3.5 billion people.
All forms of state sponsored antagonism in society is classic divide and rule tactics. Race religion gender sexism homophobia etc. Left and right politics that's the best one. I was fooled for years that there was actually a difference between the crisis managing and creators, yes that's the politicians! Ed Balls at Bildeberg was the icing on the cake there. A Real champion of the people there!
We really have to look further at the why and wherefore of race and gay and gender issues to see who really benefits from people being distracted and divided by things that really most of us are not interested in except that it is constantly in the news and there are reports and pressure groups everywhere ( all backed by big business) making comment and ensuring we don't look at the real culprits in our society.
The economic fascists are who we should be looking at. They will destroy all our freedoms make us poor and commit us all to slavery war and death. Its actually happening now if you care to look around. Sopotcelt.

Thanks to all who replied to my post re
misty thackeray. To be honest, I had never heard of this person before, until I read about it in todays paper. The article only gave the name as misty, so assumed it was female.jimbhoy.

13.) 20 Jan 2014
I'd never heard of this person either Jim but UKIP is not something I take much heid of to be honest.

I find it difficult to take their bitter views seriously or that some can honestly think the way they do.

Sopot, I seen those stats today as well with the rich. It's always been the same, with the rich getting richer and poor getting poorer. You are definitely right about the ultimate form of discrimination being economic!

Bitterness and hate though, I never understood it. However, I do think it's driven by fear.

14.) 21 Jan 2014
Ok Mrs E my last comment. I don't want any tongues wagging!
The ultimate ultimate discrimination is murder. If they have deem to let you live its economic.
The hatred comes all the way from the top. They are not like ordinary people you know. Ok that's it I am done. Apologies folks for going on I realise this is a football forum but I have to speak my truth when the opportunity arises. Sopotcelt.
