On this date in 1969,
Celtic beat Hibs 6-2 in the League Cup Final.
Buzzbomb scored a hat trick.
Hibs scored 2 consolation goals to make a little more respectable.
Celtic won the Treble within only 3 weeks in 1969.
We clinched the title on April 21st at Kilmarnock due to Tommy Gemmell last minute equaliser after being 2-0 down.
Celtic achieved our Treble by beating Rangers 4-0 in the Scottish Cup Final on April 26th.
It was the last match Sir Alex Ferguson ever played for Rangers after he was blamed for the Billy McNeill 1st minute opener.
There were 200 arrests after the Rangers fans tried to storm the pitch after their heavy defeat.
Nothing changes apart from not arresting more smurfs.

A gambling heads up to the positive thinkers out there. Before today’s game we are 3/ 1 to win the league with Bet365. If we beat Hundee today we will have 6 games left and 4 of those at home, the tribute act have 6 games left and 4 away ( inc us and Hearts) .
If we win today best odds you will get for us to win the league will be around 13/ 8 or 7/ 4 🍀.

I see Victor Wanyama has called time on his playing career, 13 years since he left us and its incredible to think we have not had a half decent DM since. Absolutely incredible the length of time that we have went without signing one that's a 1st team regular.
Callum Mcgregor has had the position pretty much to himself the last 10 years and he's not even a DM.
No wonder our European record since has been embarrassing
This must change in the summer.

I don’t really care what the Hearts score is today because I feel we can pull those 5 points back.
A part of me wants them to win in case we do our usual flop today.
Does anyone feel the same?

BETTER DAYS AHEAD
That is the name of a horse in the Irish Grand National tomorrow 14/ 1 5 places
It is also how I am feeling, I think we will have learned our lesson from Tannadice and I feel confident of a win today. Win these next two games and we will be in a decent place with the split coming up.
The sevvies are confident, but I think there are a few banana skins for them after the split
For those of you who Celebrate it I hope you all have a
JOYFUL EASTER SUNDAY.

Tim if we had more firepower we might have a chance but we're toothless up top, and our wide men are so inconsistent, there is no room forcertor no draws all wins needed, jfp says improbable that's my take also.

Happy Easter Mr Legend 🍀.

Thats the past 2 motherwell home games I've attended. My son is a season ticket holder.
Ive seen absolutely nothing from just that would merit a bid. Goes down easy, reluctant to go in the box / attack. Steven Odonnell did more today that just and he was horrific 🤣🤣🤣
Maswanisse? Small? Little to no service? Yes he got a goal today but largely ineffective in both the hibs / now Falkirk games.
This is only my opinion.
P. s. I've never seen a worse performance from a referee than this guy today 🙈🙈🙈🙈.

I get mixed up between McGinn and O’Donnell but it was mentioned in commentary in December that one of them had just beat Celtic for the first time in their career.
04 Apr 2026 17:22:49
Nothing less than being a point above the Sevs by this time next week will be acceptable.
04 Apr 2026 17:54:46
We head to Dundee tomorrow third place in the league. We’ve taken 0 points from 9 on previous 3 visits to Dundee. We’ve lost more games than first and second placed teams combined. We’ve beaten neither in the league.
Both have a better goal difference. Our three strikers have what 4 goals between them and not all from open play. Does that sound like a team that will win the league?
04 Apr 2026 18:32:58
It is possible if Celtic win our 2 games before Sevco play and then we would need Falkirk to win next Sunday.
I hope Stevie is right.
04 Apr 2026 18:52:58
Buzz
I hope Stevie is right too!
It’s possible - but for me - improbable.
04 Apr 2026 19:22:54
Really hard to accept, but I have been waiting all year for Celtic to play well for a whole game and vaguely resemble the Celtic we know. The long term damage done by the Board and the ridiculous appointment of Nancy has given MON a mountain to climb - wearing roller skates. I will never concede anything this soon but can anyone see the faintest hint of the miracle we require all things considered? Senior players have to take the team by the scruff of the neck and we cannot afford any passengers or lightweights for the remaining games.
However, the amount of injuries and inadequacies in this squad makes this very, very tough.
04 Apr 2026 22:01:39
I would agree with everything you mentioned Celtic Mad but we’re not at the miracle part yet.
I hope I’ve not wrote too soon before tomorrow.
05 Apr 2026 00:10:47
Always said since Jan, we need to get to the split still in touch, to be in touch we must win our next 2 games, tomorrow is huge, for me if we don't win it's a 2 horse race and we're destined for 3rd which is a disgrace and that alone to be 3rd in what should have been a 1 horse race given the gulf in resources we had is unforgivable.
05 Apr 2026 09:41:52
I hope with every fibre of my being you are correct Buzz.
I just haven’t seen any evidence this season that it will happen.
We have far too many journeymen in the team.
05 Apr 2026 10:14:08
Agree Stevie Bhoy 👍🍀.
05 Apr 2026 10:50:55
Figures crossed North.
04 Apr 2026 14:28:56
Wonder if big Arthur could play rb Tom with trusty coming in it would give us 3 big guys as well just don't fancy Donovan or ralston.
04 Apr 2026 14:51:49
I think Donovan has been one of our few positives this season and he’s only going to get better.
He should keep his place tomorrow although AJ and Araujo are huge misses.
I would also keep Trusty on the bench with his body crying out for rest and with all his travelling involved.
He’s another big player we can’t afford to go into the split without.
04 Apr 2026 15:41:39
Donovans final ball is awful if he could improve that side of his game he'd have a chance.
04 Apr 2026 16:04:55
True Mally he is a good defender but we miss our 2 injured players in the final 3rd.
04 Apr 2026 18:05:30
I'd rather have Donovan than Ralston but it's a pretty close call.
04 Apr 2026 14:26:15
could not believe that we are playing a crucial game on Easter Sunday!
A day when many people are enjoying quality family time!
04 Apr 2026 14:53:53
Next season Easter Sunday will land on the International break for a change.
04 Apr 2026 15:37:42
The dodgy random fixture computer and SLY programming are just two of the many factors in a season none of us will ever forget.
04 Apr 2026 14:25:52
Celtic and Man City have done it all before and it’s 28 times your money double to still win the league and 30.6 times your money with a boosted bet with Ladbrokes.
Man City still have Arsenal at home,
Celtic should still have both Hearts and Sevco at home.
