DD was yesterday being credited for Celtic building a good enough team to reach Seville.
I thought it was down to our Cooperative Bank loan we received in June 2000.
We got a £21M loan and also a £10.5M overdraft which helped Martin build a team to win our first Treble since 1969.
10 Apr 2026 16:11:21
Just more revisionist crap to try and appease us.
10 Apr 2026 19:03:53
Was he the guarantor to get the loans?
{Ed007's Note - The loan was secured against Celtic Park & adjacent land & Lennoxtown although DD did underwrite the 2005 share issue up to the value of £10m but the issue was oversubscribed so he didn't need to cover any shortfall although he would have bought shares.
DD has never put a single dime into Celtic unless it is to buy shares - he never has had to do it - and that's the way it should be.}
10 Apr 2026 19:10:11
It was 23 year ago lol think it was only in O’Neils first few seasons that we spent more than we took in.
{Ed007's Note - We only paid the loan off in 2023, roughly it was £1m a year plus - off the top of my head - 3% interest.}
10 Apr 2026 20:11:41
Anyone one of us could have ran it same way, you can see how he’s billionaire.
{Ed007's Note - That's just nonsense, we could have been ran better over the years but we could have been ran a Hell of a lot worse. Fergus McCann was a bigger tyrant & control freak than both DD and Peter Lawwell combined - and he was only here for 5 years - he could have taught Lawwell a thing or twenty about penny pinching.}
10 Apr 2026 22:30:39
Fergus had a big task in building the stadium which he was successful in achieving.
Lawwell had the task of maintaining it which he has failed to do.
DD has a bit of making up to do however given the stance his brat took at the AGM I’m not optimistic.
10 Apr 2026 23:15:06
100% mate.
10 Apr 2026 11:28:58
Apparently Robbie Keane is "Front runner to be next Celtic boss"
I never heard that or even THOUGHT about him as our manager
What are all you guys thoughts and if like me it is a NO
Who would you like
Me? I am siding with our ED007 and want the Ipswich Manager.
{Ed007's Note - Keane's been in the mix for a while Tim and I wouldn't be surprised if that's who it is.}
10 Apr 2026 12:16:29
Personally a think it between Keane/ Bellamy, Ipswich sitting 2nd in Championship with cpl games in hand so can’t see McKenna coming if promoted, so ad opt for Bellamy, just think Keane be to much of a DD yes man, e think it needs to be the most important signing of the season getting the manager right.
{Ed007's Note - How long will Ipswich give McKenna in the PL this time before they sack him? He's already been been promoted and they were immediately relegated and it'll probably be the same again.
We should be at least giving him the choice - of another relegation battle that will probably cost you your job this time or managing Celtic, winning trophies, playing European football and building your reputation.}
10 Apr 2026 12:27:43
Keane i'd be happy with. outsiders Brian Barry murphy askou and eds wee cousin. did hear from someone who seen them that maloney martinez and someone else (person didn't know who other was ) where spotted in a city centre hotel just before Martin came back social meeting or sounding out?
10 Apr 2026 14:30:41
I think it has always been Robbie Keane, With Maloney and DamienDuff as backroom, some have said that Duff has knocked that back, but I haven’t seen that anywhere.
10 Apr 2026 16:37:55
Well for me if its that trio then we cement ourselves as a top 6 spl club, not the #1 club. Falkirk and MWell overtake us if they keep their managers.
10 Apr 2026 19:06:26
Troy. Why do you think keane would be a yes man?
10 Apr 2026 16:34:00
Ur right Edd, a think Ipswich will come back down, but a still think McKenna will be in charge at least the 1st cpl months which is no good to us. In my personal opinion managers only care about the big bucks, Trophies are a bonus. Ad say McKenna is a grade above Keane and would love us to even ask the question.
{Ed007's Note - I said on a pod the other week we would maybe need prove to McKenna that we are going to be run better, maybe MON could come in as a buffer between the board and the manager/footballing department and then MON spoke about the same scenario ðŸ¤
But I agree Troy, we should at least ask the question of McKenna and if MON is involved in it that can only be another plus imo.
The board MUST deliver with the next appointment.}
10 Apr 2026 20:13:47
I don’t see what the fuss is with McKenna from what I’ve seen of Ipswich they are not great on the eye.
He has also won nothing.
10 Apr 2026 19:17:04
Out of the 3 its MKenna for me, I am not into ex-players coming back, especially if they haven't been that successful elsewhere.
They maybe played for us but the club owe them nothing. They were well paid when they were here.
Bellamy, Keane and Duff are just starting on their managerial careers and none has been successful at club level yet. Each is a risk.
I have looked around Europe and elsewhere for another lunatic who plays crazy football, in case I needed to prepare myself for another Nancy era coming our way but I couldn't find anyone as crazy or overrated as him, so fingers crossed.
10 Apr 2026 21:11:55
Keane has at won 2 league titles that’s not nothing 🤣.
Granted it’s Israel and Hungary but still a winner.
10 Apr 2026 22:10:55
Is he really.!
McKenna is doing well at a higher level. His football is better on the eye as well imo and he is not an ex player who the board will think they can dictate to.
10 Apr 2026 10:09:13
Hi Ed, have you heard anything about Arujo or Engles? Be a massive boost if they were available for the massive games ahead. I know people question Engles at times but he does look to make the killer pass and imo has been badly missed.
Would love to see us scoring early and putting the game to bed tomorrow, a while since we have done that in a game!
{Ed007's Note - I think Engels might make tomorrow's squad and - take this with a pinch of salt maybe - Araujo is supposedly due back in Glasgow next week if Bournemouth give him the OK.}
10 Apr 2026 15:10:13
Just seen on another crltic site, apparently Martin O'Neil has confirmed araujo out for the season and won't be back. Picked up another injury whilst at Bournemouth.
10 Apr 2026 19:17:59
Sums up our season.

10 Apr 2026 07:39:15
{Ed's Note - Zeddicus has posted a new article entitled, From Rush to Slot: A Supporter’s Breaking Point
09 Apr 2026 23:58:20
I see the collective have urged fans to delay buying season tickets.
Will be I tested to see how many fans renew. I am guessing most will renew but hope I'm wrong.
10 Apr 2026 09:52:45
I was always going to wait until the last minute anyway for the same reason as the Collective.
Celtic will be forced to announce extensions because there will be too many trying to renew at the same time.
10 Apr 2026 10:58:22
Even though I hate the board and think they are even worse than the old board I will still renew for me and my daughter and would even take another one for my grandson if available. However I will follow the collective plan to leave it until the final day.
09 Apr 2026 22:54:49
I’ve a spare ticket for game on Saturday - only negatives are you’d be in seat beside me - I’m in the not another penny brigade so if you buy a pie we could maybe fall out - I’m only jesting - if ye need a pie that bad batter in - if interested let Ed know ticket is there free.
God willing it will be a great day lads.
09 Apr 2026 18:57:30
FIFA do not get much RIGHT but.
Of the 130 referees affiliated for the upcoming World Cup
NOT ONE Scottish referee has been named
I wonder why.
09 Apr 2026 23:38:23
It sums up Scottish Referees, Feckin useless.
10 Apr 2026 09:55:27
Because they are utter dung Tim.
10 Apr 2026 20:21:19
Because they're useless, corrupt or more likely, both!
09 Apr 2026 18:53:40
On this date in 1892,
Celtic won our first ever major trophy by beating Queens Park 5-1 in the Scottish Cup Final at Ibrox.
It was Queens Park’s 10th Scottish Cup Final appearance and their First defeat.
The following year in 1893 Queens Park beat Celtic 2-1 in the Final to win their 10th and last ever Scottish Cup.
Celtic beat them in another SC Final 4-3 in the year 1900.
Queens Park lost both SC Finals at Ibrox against Celtic but won the other 10 SC Finals they played in.

Scales will need to be careful after receiving his 9th league booking at Dundee.
He would need to receive another 3 bookings in his next 5 league games to gain a suspension.
If he gets his 12th yellow card against Hearts he will be suspended for the first game next season.
He should be okay.
Scales only received 8 cautions in his first 65 league games for Celtic before this season started.
08 Apr 2026 23:57:35
Craig Halkett of Hearts is also on 9 yellow cards.
He’s already served a one match suspension after receiving 6 yellow cards before the 19 league games halfway stage.
After his one match suspension for 6 yellow cards, Halkett received a straight Red Card but then only got another one match suspension.
Trusty gets 2 Red Cards and gets a 4 match ban in total although he’s only received ONE yellow card all season.
I suppose that’s the rules but it’s poor discipline from the Hearts defender.
09 Apr 2026 09:47:01
Scales is enigmatic. Can be really strong and effective, but prone to lapses and poor judgement.
09 Apr 2026 13:24:51
Heard Donovan is injured hopefully aurejo close.
09 Apr 2026 16:46:25
Scales is a terrible player and it’s just a shame the other CBs are just as bad.
Such a decline in standards that anyone could think he’s decent.
08 Apr 2026 22:11:16
Given how poor Maeda has been as a winger this season does anyone think Sarrachi might be a better option against St Mirren? He offers plenty going forward, can put in a shift and is for sure a better crosser than Maeda.
I think when he plays he brings some urgency and forward momentum to our play which this season has been sadly lacking. Probably not happen but can't see it being any worse than what we have tried.
08 Apr 2026 23:23:13
I would have dropped maeda months ago only there's no one to replace him. I agree saracchi could be tried but i would prefer tierney on wing and sarrachi at lb
Tierney has a good burst of pace and can whip in some good crosses without needing to get to the byline. Saracchi has a better engine for lb.
09 Apr 2026 08:18:43
KT used to be a left midfielder playing with the Development Squad. It was Ronny who put him back to LB.
