Just read online that 55 years ago today a certain young player called
James Johnstone made his debut in an inglorious 6-0 defeat away to Kilmarnock, who could have predicted that wee Jinky would become our GREATEST EVER PLAYER.

"We've got Jimmy, Jimmy Johnstone on the wing, on the wing.
Jimmy, Oh Jimmy Johnstone
Jimmy Johnstone on the wing"

Those of us who saw wee Jinky play in the flesh were TRULY PRIVILEGED. hail hail.

my bhoyhood idol tim, i was gutted when they freed him in 75 when i was 8 it broke my heart, and like the rest of the players from that era he was a lovely humble down to earth guy.

On the point that Sterling ( england ) is asking the fans for some "love". Could you imagine the Lisbon Lions asking for some love from the fans.
I know we all love our club and our TEAM, however I don't think there will ever be a Team loved as much as the Lisbon Lions.

Hail Hail the Celts are here.

Some times, in fact the vast majority of times but there were the odd occasions that they played very poorly, they were human.
