Evening Ed and all. Just finished reading there that arsenal are ready to do a cut price deal with Celtic for KT they think it would be easier to deal with Celtic than Newcastle and KT has said he will take a major pay cut. What a bit of business that would be especially if the Croatia GK arrives. Would love to see Hart stick around and maybe even take up a GK coach role.

{Ed007's Note - We have one of the best GK coaches in Europe in Stevie Woods, wtf has Hart done to warrant being offered a coaching role at Celtic?
If KT wants to come back on a permanent deal and play in the LCB role I'd be delighted - if he is looking to come back on a loan and play as LB I'd pass on that, he isn't fit enough to play at LB any more and his injury problems are only going to get worse, if Celtic are willing to make that investment on a high risk transfer then KT needs to dance to Celtic's tune.}

Why would we be easier to deal with. if Newcastle offer 30m say surely that's who they'll deal with.

{Ed007's Note - Because it's a Hell of a lot easier to deal with a team a player wants to move to than one he doesn't. Newcastle could offer £50 million for KT but if he doesn't fancy the move it ain't going to happen.
The £30 million price will be for other Pub League teams, £15-20 million for a move to Europe unless it's a "super-power" but there is no chance in a million years if.. IF... KT wants to come back to Celtic Arsenal will be asking us for those kind of prices.
Are we seriously going back down the rabbit hole about how transfers work and how fees etc work - AGAIN?
If we are then I'm out.}

Nope never entered ma head. just think hard cash beats a loan any day and honestly think kt will stay in epl.

Can’t see us spending 10+ on him as sell on value will be lower surely and we buy to sell.

Ed are you seriously saying that if Newcastle offered £50m but we offered £10m Arsenal would do business with us because the player would rather come here? Don’t talk nonsense if the fees were £15m and £10m then you may have a point as they wouldn’t want to sell to a rival and there’s not a great deal of difference but claims that they would sell to us and lose £40m is crazy talk.
KT won’t be coming home as we won’t pay £20m+ and I bet at least 1 other side will, loan deal is no use we have a LB who isn’t as talented but he’s reliable and usually fit so it isn’t worth the outlay for a short term arrangement.

{Ed007's Note - So how exactly could Arsenal force KT to sign for Newcastle, how can any club force a player to go somewhere they don't want to go? Arsenal could accept an £100 million bid from a Saudi team for KT, would they force him to go there?}

Ed how do u come to the best GK coach who is the last good GK we produced, I think Joe hart I'd a seriously underrated GK he is just coming to the end of his career now I respect he's made a good few mistakes but so has every GK. I think you'll struggle with the Stevie woods here, GK position has been our down fall for a long time. KT would improve our squad all day long I think we all need to break away from having a problem with loaning players in clubs with 100x our cash loan players in all the time.

{Ed007's Note - Stevie Woods is one of the most respected and highly regarded GK coaches in the game - ask Fraser Forster about him or any GK that has worked under him at Celtic or with Scotland. To suggest replacing a guy that has turned down job offers from some of the biggest clubs in England with Joe Hart because he's been here for a few years and is coming to the end of his career is ludicrous.
As for the loaning of players, I genuinely don't care what other clubs do, I only care about Celtic and I don't think there is anything to gain in loaning players unless either a) there is an option to buy or b) they are an exceptional player that we couldn't otherwise afford like a Bellamy or Keane.}

KT great player but too many injuries and not around for the big games you need him for. Think we could spend on less risk elsewhere with sell on value. I think a loan would be more suited financially with less risk to us if he becomes injured.
