'Never go back' and i can't understand why we went for BR nothing personal but its never worked, an old bird or an old football team - iron clad ' one chance per team or (woman) per lifetime'

And he's never did anything in Europe - not the players -, Liverpool very poor first time at Celtic we were getting battered and humiliated - never happened with Lenny . And now, keep the CL i think he's lost the dressing room,
And good that Europe out the windo because the league will take everything.

I wouldn’t go as far to say Brendan has lost the dressing room.
Our biggest problem, is we have too many inconsistent players, who have replaced the players that are out injured.

Hopefully our currently injured players can get back into our team and stay fit.
That would make a huge difference to Celtic and Brendan going forward.

Toro

We went back for Neil Lennon.

We appointed Michael Nicholson as CEO after the departure of Dominic McKay. Michael Nicholson had been secretary for 10 years beforehand.

We went back for Peter Lawell who as CEO for 18 years failed to develop a business model that would see us challenge in Europe over the last 20 years and appointed him chairman.

We considered the best across Europe to appoint a head of recruitment and came back with the ex-CEO’s and current chairman’s laddie.

There’s 40 years service across the board. It’s an echo chamber devoid of new ideas that have the remotest chance in hell of taking us forward because they continue to go back.

3.) 12 Dec 2023 18:37:08
Buzz perhaps you can confirm if this is true. I remember reading about Brendan Rodgers having a terrible record of injuries. I have not seen the stats so I am unable to confirm or deny.

4.) 12 Dec 2023 18:56:28
It’s the easiest task in the world to criticize a signing or a transfer window with hindsight . I would like to think that every signing we make, we expect the player to do a job for us We will sign players who impress from their first day . We will always sign some players who sooner or later will do a job for us . We will always sign players unfortunately who think they have it made, signing for us and for whatever reason don’t do the work and often our recruitment team get blamed in the wrong.

5.) 12 Dec 2023 19:07:26
It’s true Weejoe but it usually happens in his second season.

Liverpool went from something like 6th worst EPL injury record, in Brendan’s 1st season and than they went to about 18th and one of the worst injury records in the league.

Celtic had a similar injury record after our Proper Invincible Season.

6.) 12 Dec 2023 19:25:14
I don’t think hindsight has anything to do with it Celtic Calling because the majority of our fans knew the summer transfer window was brutal and a downgrade.

7.) 12 Dec 2023 20:03:36
Buzz

100%.

8.) 12 Dec 2023 20:45:35
Buzz bomb, did u take a poll?
How many thousands took part?

9.) 12 Dec 2023 20:56:02
If you go back to end of August and beginning of September on the forums, there were very few fans happy with the summer transfer window. Everyone wanted a left back and GK minimal and lots wanted a striker as well. We never got any if that, which left a bad taste in our mouths.

10.) 12 Dec 2023 21:15:12
Go WeeJoe.

11.) 12 Dec 2023 21:48:57
Celtics European aspiration died the day the summer transfer window closed. The one thing that wasn’t required to know the last transfer window was an absolute unadulterated disaster was hindsight a bit of foresight was perfectly adequate but sadly it was lacking at board level and among their apologists.

12.) 12 Dec 2023 22:12:57
Good shout weejoe.

I think things will get worse before they get better.

It’s getting close to being toxic with PL and the fans.

Not much to go before “push comes to shove. ”

I’m not bothered about the result tomorrow.

I’m looking at this team and thinking can they win the next 3 league games.

13.) 12 Dec 2023 23:04:58
@celt65 - I honestly don't think Lawwell or the board care what the fans think.

If we cast our minds back to the failed 10 in a row season, our board failed to sack Lennon when it was clear he had ran his course and they failed to get signings in January and try and salvage 10 in a row. They gave in without a fight.

We need shot if the whole lot of them in my opinion and the sooner the better.

14.) 13 Dec 2023 01:21:32
There was very little sacking of managers any where in Europe or UK that C.V. season . Sacking NL was demanded from before that season started, yet he had won five SPL ‘s and there were not many winners ready to take over as manager.

{Ed007's Note - Thanks mate ?

I’ve asked this before and it’s the question for the board to pull their hair out . who? My. Indy (and I dont gamble is Steve Clarke ) . Who else? . No one on this site has came up with a realistic name.

toro70

1.) 21 Apr 2021 09:54:08
Steve Clarke is a big fish in a small pond type manager

Wouldn’t be able to cope at Celtic

It’s going to be one of these 3

Howe
Keane
Maresca.

20 Apr 2021 18:50:36
where are you putting your fiver? Ped71 we know you have a man to do these menial tasks but . what's everyones thinking

next Celtic Manager:
Eddie Howe - 4/ 9
Lucien Favre - 9/ 4
Roy Keane - 7/ 1
Enzo Maresca - 9/ 1
Frank Lampard - 12/ 1
Carlos Queiroz - 12/ 1
John Kennedy - 12/ 1.

toro70

1.) 20 Apr 2021 19:02:52
The value is still Keane @ 7/ 1.

2.) 20 Apr 2021 19:24:28
I mentioned Maresca and Harkin ages a go with a May announcement i will stay with that.

3.) 20 Apr 2021 19:28:12
As per the posts below about our inability to afford a top manager and even bankroll his ambitions in this current financial climate; I would say that shortens the list to Keane, Maresca and Big Nose. Howe's reported agreement in principal seems to have a condition on the DOF if reports are to be believed? That would make him doubtful.

4.) 20 Apr 2021 19:32:07
Roy Keane. Desperate to get the job and i think Howe won’t manage to live in Glasgow and can’t see his family moving up. Suit him better to manage in London and travel easier from his home.

5.) 20 Apr 2021 19:33:48
The value is with Keane but I still think Howe will be announced at the end of the season.
It’s looking like the reports that Bournemouth are paying his wages until the end of the season are correct.

6.) 20 Apr 2021 19:48:09
Aye, very good toro 👍 there's an abundance of world class managerial talent on that list 😄.

Seriously though, when I weigh it up and think about our board's 'priorities' which will likely be;-

* appointing a D. O. F. first
* money, money and money
* very little time to plan for next season

Therefore I'm with Rich T, Harkin and Meresca.

7.) 20 Apr 2021 19:52:31
Agree with your reasoning OAB2 👍.

8.) 20 Apr 2021 20:12:33
I don't think it will be any off the above I have no idea who it will be but I am starting to think the board don't have a clue who will be the next manager.

9.) 20 Apr 2021 20:13:29
What about graham potter. I don’t know too much about him but I find his teams positive and he seems to be hands on coaching etc when you hear him talking. Anyone any info or thoughts on him?

10.) 20 Apr 2021 20:26:14
Get Ronny back 😍.

11.) 20 Apr 2021 21:03:58

Welshy68 can you get me a ticket with the GB?

13.) 20 Apr 2021 21:18:35
Toro I can get you one beside them 😂 if jumping about and singing yer heart out going home bruised to fk appeals then yer more than welcome.

14.) 20 Apr 2021 22:48:26
I still have a feeling that it's Keane but if we are getting Harkin as DOF I honestly think we will bring in Maresca.
Man City U23's final game is on the 7th May, if we are going down the Harkin - Maresca I would expect an announcement just after that.

Boys my neighbours always said they were hearts supporters and I believed them . until. Last year in lock down and Celts got 9 because the league was suspended . I had my 'keep California Green" tee shirt on. It gathered a lot of looks on my road chest 😀

The. y ain't hearts fans 🤨

Im sure your right chinks - but 22 shots on the opposition goal and only one goal. For me the only thing that’s changed since treble season is the manager/ head coach - we’re top of the table (just) because we don't win games when we should be out of sight -Kyogo scoring for Fun now asked to do another job and the manager is to blame - i don't think his heart is in it. Never was.
Change of manager.
