Someone on here posted yesterday about Lawwell being the new chairman then lo and behold the Record is running the story.

The Pundit

{Ed007's Note - We started "joking" about Lawwell coming back as chairman on the podcast as soon as he left the CEO position. I'm sure DD is well aware how well that move would go down with the support. Like the CEO appointments etc I'm sure it will need to be announced on the Stock Market within a certain time limit so we shouldn't have too long to wait on any real news.}

1.) 30 Jul 2022 12:05:11
Morning All

I think this is fake news.

Lawwell as chairman will not happen imo.

?.

{Ed007's Note - I agree, Brian ?

2.) 30 Jul 2022 12:23:41
Ed just goes to show the daily ranger and the current obviously keep an eye on us ?.

{Ed007's Note - ?

3.) 30 Jul 2022 12:24:26
DD refused to remove Lennon from his post when the fans demanded it so I don't think DD will be swayed by the fans when it comes to appointing a new chairman.

4.) 30 Jul 2022 13:21:50
Pundit i think you will find DD listened to the fans when they tried to install the ex cop into a position of power at Celtic. PS sorry his name escapes me right now but am sure the lads will fill it in.

{Ed007's Note - Bernard Higgins.}

5.) 30 Jul 2022 15:15:43
Always ahead have sly or the media trip to tap yous boys up yet? HH.

{Ed007's Note - Sky used to try and buy or invest into the sites with Ed001 and Ed033 but they also wanted us to promote their stories, even the made up ones to get get people gambling. Basically everything was geared towards exploiting the posters and getting as much money as possible out of all of them.
We'd all probably be better off financially but it wasn't something any of the Eds were interested in doing.}

6.) 30 Jul 2022 15:27:20
If Lawwell was to come back as Chairman, am I right in thinking Mick Nick would still run the show? I don't remember ever hearing about Lawwell having to justify himself to Bankier.

7.) 30 Jul 2022 18:57:52
That was meant as TIC boys HH.

Joe Hart dithering again, what's that all about?

The Pundit

1.) 23 Jul 2022 17:01:52
It's his cryotonit.
Thats every game now. He's not learning.

2.) 23 Jul 2022 17:18:15
I really think it's an over-confidence thing as he seems to be convinced in his own ability. Yeah, he may cost us a goal or two, but like he showed today, he will save us many, many more.
It's not a big worry for me - like some previous goalkeepers we have had that gave me the fear, when the ball went near them.
The team have adopted a brilliant style of football and is full of talented ball-players. Keeping possession, out from the back is brilliant when it comes off - and it does most of the time; but we lost possession two or three times today and need to be as slick, quick and strong in possession as we are further up the pitch.
It's possibly the best all-round classy football from The Hoops I have seen from a Celtic team since Tommy's team.

3.) 23 Jul 2022 18:28:26
Evening All

Have said on numerous occasions that Hart scares the life out of me at times.

I hope am wrong but it will cost us in some matches.

?.

4.) 23 Jul 2022 19:43:13
Does that in the champions league with top drawer players breathing down his throat we will be in trouble . Decision making has to be spot on in these games .

5.) 23 Jul 2022 22:12:46
Agree OAB, we are playing the best football since Burns's team?.

6.) 24 Jul 2022 10:21:00
The good thing about Joe is we now have a keeper to come n if he has a loss of form. I don’t think he will but at least we have a real keeper to step in if he does.

19 Jul 2022 16:36:54
Jenz confirmed. Have we ever had a better transfer window? Do we think that's our buisness done?

The Pundit

1.) 19 Jul 2022 16:44:54
Last summer was very good given the sheer number of players and time available, but again, I'm very pleased.

Still plenty of room for a cheeky deal or two ?

☘️ ? ☘️.

2.) 19 Jul 2022 17:08:55
Wim jansen year? not a window then? This window we've consolidated by signing the loan players . and replenished the squad . are we stronger? To win spl and domestic cups yes . and europe is a bonus no matter who we sign or what tournament we end up in.

3.) 19 Jul 2022 17:33:05
We all need to remember (I know you haven't forgot) that there is 2 transfer windows in a season.

Personally I don't think there will be any more signings in this window unless an exceptional 1st team ready player becomes available.

However January transfer window is a few months away and who knows what might happen with injuries, poor form etc.

Take Care??

?.

4.) 19 Jul 2022 17:50:46
I'm not so sure we're stronger. Jota and CCV has us standing still. Mooy replaces 1 of 2 midfielders we lost. The CB is going to replace Julien and how good is he? The LB is a bit of a unknown quantity coming from South America. Have we done good with signings from that part of the country?

I suppose we won't know if we're stronger till the action starts ?.

5.) 19 Jul 2022 18:04:19
Oh dear ?

☘️ ? ☘️.

6.) 19 Jul 2022 18:13:14
Still hoping for a striker. Second half Saturday shows how we struggle with neither Kyogo and Gio aren’t on the pitch. Looked as if they could still be playing and not score.

7.) 19 Jul 2022 18:20:15
We are stronger because the team have been together for a year, have created understanding and this will improve. We haven’t stood still at all. Could we have brought in better? That remains to be seen, Barny looks good going forward but I am not convinced yet about his defending capabilities. Mooy I think will be excellent. Jenz is a risk. He looks good but none of his clips showed him running out of defence with the ball. Ange wants that but Sterfelt struggles with that and I hoped we would buy the real deal for all that is a stake. Time will tell. I am hoping Jenz will improve us but there are doubts.

8.) 19 Jul 2022 18:31:53
I just can't believe we got every player and position we wanted before a competitive ball has been kicked. Jota, CCV a new CB and LB is what we needed plus we've added depth in Mooy and Benji. Good successful window imo?.

9.) 19 Jul 2022 18:50:04
Magic pole. jenz is an unknown quantity and bei g a loan no gamble imo . I think mooy is more of a gamble could he be like mcarthy whose best is a few years behind him? .

10.) 19 Jul 2022 19:38:53
Mooy is a free so no gamble.

11.) 19 Jul 2022 22:06:51
DRB. McCarthy could be another who benefits from a full pre season. I mean he hardly played last season so if Ange isn't going to play him some of this season would be as well getting him. of the wage bill. Although easier said than done. Did he not sign a 4 year contract?

16 Jul 2022 12:34:17
A CB is a must. We need to sort this defence out. The amount of goals we are conceading is alarming!

The Pundit

1.) 16 Jul 2022 12:58:11
My cat agrees with that. Always the part of the team that let's us down. Mid to front excellent but undone by players simply never good enough. CCV needs an even better CB beside him. The right backs we are ok, LB hopefully sorted by Barney but he’s young and he too looks to have mistakes in him too but looks good. Just sick of us never sorting our defence.

2.) 16 Jul 2022 13:07:15
I could count on one hand the amount of decent CB's we've had in my 38 years supporting Celtic!

3.) 16 Jul 2022 14:16:35
I have never seen us with a great defence. Ever. Always at least one dud. This performance isn’t good enough and too many showing they aren’t good enough if we want to get better. Forrest again useless. Defence shambolic. And second half zero goal threat with awful crossing and no tip to out spear. What a let down. Lawal is utterly woeful.

4.) 16 Jul 2022 14:51:15
c/ b a priority d/ m would be good but we have mccarthy and gucci to see u through, left back for is taylor as the new lad will need a fair bit of time, don't think he won a tackle all the time he was on, looks like the keepers will be playing as sweepers so we can expect a few hairy moments, lawal doesn't seem to be up to speed or think/ react quickly.

5.) 16 Jul 2022 14:51:37
Same old magicpole.

6.) 16 Jul 2022 15:18:36
The truth has to be faced. Faith is for mugs, evidence is clear. Our defence is not near good enough. Forrest is a vastly overpaid man down, five games a year yes on it. The rest he’s gash. And that’s been the case his whole career.

19 May 2022 03:40:50
Would you rather win the league title or the Europa League? ???.

The Pundit

1.) 19 May 2022 04:36:57
Neither,
Now it will be OR the Scottish Cup.
Celtic have won 11 Cup Finals in a row over the last decade and 10 of those victories have been in front of our amazing supporters.
Due to Sevco not winning anything in front of supporters before,
The Sevco fans remained quiet last night to give their team a better chance of winning but that also failed.
A possible Plan C on Saturday?

2.) 19 May 2022 06:33:38
Reaching a euro final was good, because winning a domestic treble is easy as we have proved a lot recently . ( would have been another this season if CCV shot had been 3 inches lower ) roll on next season HH.

3.) 19 May 2022 06:53:57
Even the penis says the league is the main thing and he's their guy ??.

4.) 19 May 2022 09:55:30
Manky Hearts will never get a better chance to win the SC than this weekend.

☘️ ? ☘️.

I bet Jota can't wait for his return flight?.

The Pundit

1.) 19 May 2022 04:44:00
Jota has bought some German stickers for his flight home ?.

Hatate and O'Reilly will have huge season imo, add Kyogo, GG, Jota Abada and Maeda and I don't see goals being an issue this season. I think we will be devastating going forward!

We will always be a selling club due to the league that we play in and the financial contstraints that come with that. C'mon were we supposed to ko bids of tens of millions for the likes of Van Dijk, Tierney, Dembele, Edouard, etc etc.
Lawwell from 2003 until he left was praised for reducing debt and increasing revenue. Yes he was a tough transfer negotiator but he wanted what was best of the club.
You can't just spend and spend with more going out than you have coming in. How many major honours did we in under his tenure? A whopping 13 League titles, 9 Scottish Cups and 7 League Cups. Infact here's an intetesting thought to ponder, if Lawwell hadn't left his first position with the club as financial controller back in 1991 is it possible we could've avoided the financial mess in 1994. Who knows however having gotten over missing out on the 10, stepping back and looking at the bigger picture I think he done better than what people give him credit for.

I agree with you in the sense that his appointment of Neil Lennon and the failure to get the 10 will probably be his legacy in most fans eyes and overshadows many of the positives. But I believe at all times he acted with club's best interests at heart.
