I am hearing from mate Celtic are looking at another loan deal to buy? Young Spanish speaking player supposed to play number 10 role or wing. Won't be confirmed till after preseason finished not sure why?

Seymourgames

1.) 23 Jun 2018 00:04:21
Now Armstrong is away sure Celtic will move for McGinn . I’d like to see him at Celtic a lot can be said for his work rate in the middle of the park from middle to front.

2.) 23 Jun 2018 08:26:33
McGinn is now the obvious choice, domestically at least, as he carries teams up the pitch much like Armstrong. Around 2m plus Allen i would imagine.

3.) 23 Jun 2018 12:40:40
Not sure why? Maybe because it’s made up? That would be my guess. And I don’t guess.

20 Jun 2018 19:00:22
Heard from good source this afternoon Stuart Armstrong off to Southampton fee agreed in principle.

Seymourgames

1.) 20 Jun 2018 20:04:20
Sad to see him leave but we have McGregor n Rogic for that role.

2.) 21 Jun 2018 08:45:05
Armstrong is a box to box CM rather than an AM Kev so I'd imagine we might make a move for McGinn if this goes through.

3.) 21 Jun 2018 12:31:37
@SMG: any info on how much the fee is? Thx.

4.) 21 Jun 2018 19:51:19
John McGinn would be a fantastic signing but would he improve the starting XI we still have Christie and Allan on the books.

5.) 22 Jun 2018 12:24:25
I would imagine Allen would be going the other way as part of the deal!

6.) 23 Jun 2018 11:52:24
No approach for John yet.

I spoke to a colleague french Parisian workmate. they say that Psg are needing cash to overhaul some of the transfer from last season. They are minted but require clubs to pay top dollar in acquiring some of the talented players. Newspaper quoting the £9m in France.

Seymourgames

{Ed002's Note - PSG need to prove they are not in breach of FFP and need to raise funds through committed sales in the coming weeks. This coulkd see some high profile departures.}

1.) 25 May 2018 13:28:48
You could also argue that if they’re that desperate then they might take a quick £3m for Edouard as opposed to the £10m being suggested.

2.) 25 May 2018 15:06:11
A doubt £10m would put a dent in it never mind 3. They're not skint, just struggling to meet the rules set.

{Ed007's Note - Selling Neymar should sort it out for them.}

3.) 25 May 2018 16:14:23
Neymar wanting to move to Real Madrid? They won’t freak out over 9 million for Édouard when they could sell the likes of Rabiot for 50 million.

4.) 25 May 2018 16:13:49
Exactly mate. I doubt this would have any impact on Édouard signing.

5.) 25 May 2018 18:29:07
Neymar wanting a move to Real Madrid and I thought he was ready to join the Stevie G revolution, shucks.

6.) 25 May 2018 20:07:10
My worry is that with all the media speculation around odsonne signing, is that a Premier League team will come in and bid for him and we obviously can't match it.

{Ed007's Note - That can't happen if Celtic stump up the agreed fee before any deadline, any EPL club could bid £20 million and we could still buy Edouard for the agreed money. The only way out of it would be if PSG compensated us for breaking the contract but legally they wouldn't have a leg to stand on.}

7.) 25 May 2018 20:21:18
That's a relief then, thanks for clearing that up, If we do get Odsonne, with more game time I think he's a 20+ goal striker easily, mega bucks to be made from him.

{Ed007's Note - I really like Edouard, he seems to have a lot more to his game than Dembele and if we have both of them and LG as our 3 strikers next season I would be over the moon.}

8.) 26 May 2018 00:48:07
knowing our stinginess it will be another years loan.

9.) 26 May 2018 04:09:05
Ed will be over the moon and the huns will be howling at it if we sign edouard. It's odds on.

10.) 26 May 2018 23:37:10
Anybody that thinks our board are guilty of stinginess, must have difficulty recognising all the value for money we have had on stadium improvements, managerial and coaching expertise plus the quality of players on the pitch . We have been able to improve on all three fronts at the one time and plan continuous onward
three prong investment without director loans to be transferred to shares at some date in future .
You don't continue to grow and develop by stinginess or by wasting money unnecessary on old players who have already retired in their own mind as your major addition in any window.

11.) 27 May 2018 08:08:20
If any club needs to be run properly then the should look at celtic blueprint. We are on the up an up and along as we continue to invest in the team then no one in Scotland will ever catch us again but we can't rest on our laurels though.

12.) 27 May 2018 22:12:34
chris, lawwell's stinginess has held us back in europe for years, open your eyes.

13.) 28 May 2018 23:19:18
Jamesbhoy67, Most fans with a basic understanding of financial and economical forecasting understand the tremendous work Peter Lawell did in the most difficult circumstances . Our major rivals set themselves a spending spree equivalent to over £10m each and every year over and above that they could possibly afford .
Thousands upon thousands of Celtic supporters put the most severe pressure on Celtic to follow suit . The MSSM created great fun laughing at P L 's biscuit tin mindset . Unfortunately Jamesbhoy67 some Celtic supporters were gullible enough to believe the MSSM instead of Celtic. P L continued to implement the Board strategy of keeping Celtic Football Club on an even course . Our Govan Rivals went
bankrupt and our Board's policy kept Celtic going from strength to strength .
Any man that doesn't appreciate the fantastic job Lawwell has done for us as C E has read the Glasgow Papers or listen to the experts on TV and Radio .
It was the Board's way or we would have been the same as Rangers.

22 May 2018 20:40:53
Celtic will have to break record to land Odsonne. Be down payment and add ons still be close to £9m.

Seymourgames

1.) 23 May 2018 00:54:08
Aye add ons for reaching national team was one of them! It'll be nowhere near that.

Figure stated last year was season long loan with option to buy for £7m.

Rodgers even came out months ago and stated that we wouldn't even need to be as much as that. It's papers talkin pish.

Ongoing talks as you say may well be over ad ons and big P Lawell going heavy Spurs Daniel Levy on our French negotiations 😂 but fee was agreed last year.

The boy wants to be here.

BR wants him here. And to be fair to big P Lawell, what BR wants. He gets (pitch, inside training dome, wouldn't be the slightest suprised if open bus celebrations was at Br's request! Same with new stadium lighting system)

If big Eddys ours in the next day or two, along with big Tam signing 5 year, Ajer recently signing up 4 years I'll be ecstatic before the transfer window even opens.

And with with everyone singed up long term along with incomings of Christie and Morgan realistically 2 quality signings would do in this window, unless Hunskelper or Armstrong leave.

2.) 23 May 2018 08:08:41
If the add on for reaching the national team was triggered I would be delighted Tompo . His performances would have to have been exceptional at CL level for this to happen and his value would rocket.

3.) 23 May 2018 09:22:46
I can’t see PSG looking for that much, I’d be surprised if we paid more than £4m for him, the difference for PSG is pennies. Even if we paid £7m I’d be happy because he’ll be worth a lot more in a couple of years time.

4.) 23 May 2018 11:27:53
@Tompo. Did BR actually say it was less than 7m anywhere? "Where have you got the figure from? ” said Rodgers in response to the perceived 7m for Edouard. “No – it’s not that. I’m not telling you what it is, but it’s not that. " Could be less, could be more.

@AndyH it is pennies to them mate but at the same time are they not desperate to recoup cash to fit in line with FFP? Granted they could make up a few million in the sale of somebody else to a richer club but still, they will have set their own price.

03 Apr 2018 18:09:20
I hope Tom rogic has an absolute cracking world cup. If his price goes up all the better. Di just don't get why so many celtic cream themselves over him. He's garbage defensively and only good for 60 mins. I like give Christie a go. If am reading the mcclean might be coming. Oh I hope so what a signing that be.

Don't get me wrong rogic is good but he lacks something pace and I don't think his hearts truly here. If he wants to move on let him and I hope it's to a good club that play decent money. I don't any player who thinks they are bigger or better than they be. I saw larsson, Lennon, lambert, Petrov give 100% every time they walked on park. I want that desire when you pull on hoops.

Seymourgames

1.) 03 Apr 2018 21:28:04
Rogic is a wonderful football player. He’s technically sublime. If he could also defend and had scorching pace and all the rest he wouldn’t be playing in Scotland.

2.) 03 Apr 2018 22:33:50
Never knew a number 10 was known for their defending.

3.) 03 Apr 2018 23:59:51
According to Seymourgames poor Rogic has an aweful lot of faults and weaknesses yet he thinks he is good .

{Ed007's Note - The only thing anyone can fault Rogic for is his ability to stay fit. We would struggle to keep hold of a consistently fit Rogic.}

4.) 04 Apr 2018 12:53:49
I don't know how somebody can 'cream' over James McClean.

5.) 04 Apr 2018 14:04:31
How many times has Rogic pulled us out of a hole?
Maybe you have forgotten about the last minute winners or goals that have pulled us back into the game, does that not show you desire or do you show more desire if you just run about like a headless chicken for 90 minutes he is also in my opinion the most skilful player we have in the squad.

He may not have the speed of Sinclair, Forrest or Roberts but his close control is second to none. Just as his goal at the weekend showed.
As Stephenm mentioned also, how many other number 10's do you see doing a lot of defending. If he goes in the summer, I hope young Musonda is as good as everyone seems to think as he will have huge boots to fill.
Here is a wee video with just a couple of his last minute winners

We never made champions league I be more concerned about retaining the league. The wheels of bus might truly fall off. We need boyata to be sold quickly. We need bring in Centre half for stability. Get to Christmas and strengthen again build from here on. I agree champions league was poor but we are not a champions league team I want to compete getting beat 6-0 is not good viewing. Before anyone asks I have a stack of season books going back 20 yrs. I have an opinion might not be some but it's my own.

You can't make those comments on here. Got dogs abuse for similar comments. Apparently it was my lack of understanding of football.

Celtic are light years away. Another 30 million champions league money will push as away further (first Hic up) .

Like yourself followed Celtic for many a moon. Home and away from 88. Personally think we have 2 weeks to buy quality or the rails could come flying off.

Not for a second do I think the board will sanction this. Will be loan signings/ cheap opinion. We will wait and see hope I'm wrong.

2.) 17 Aug 2018 08:07:06
We cannot compete with the super teams of Europe, but we do need the cash.
I hate to say this but Rangers defence is looking stronger than ours.

3.) 17 Aug 2018 08:13:22
It's imperative that we put this CL disappointment behind us and get our priorities right for the season ahead.
We need to bolster the squad with as much quality as is affordable and available, while getting shot of wage earners that have no place at Celtic Park and spare any sentiment.
We need to get fit, hungry and playing the way we can to regain the confidence and consistency that has earned the double treble.
I'm sure the players are as sick of the bad publicity and lack of respect as the rest of us and we need to put them in their place.

4.) 17 Aug 2018 09:48:05
Downunderbhoy its not just the Rangers defence that looks stronger. McGregor is better than Gordon. Only Tierney would get a game at the back for them. They move the ball quicker, break faster and have a hunger that we don't have. Our game is about getting control of the ball and playing. As we saw against Hearts if you stop us settling then we are vulnerable and that's what Rangers do. don't care if I get pelters I am not looking at Celtic through Green Tinted specs. We have a problem. It may be complacency I really don't know. If teams like AEK allow us to have the ball we are fine but as we saw as soon as teams run at us we always look to be in trouble. Lustig is getting put to the sword. Our midfield is getting put under pressure and we are vulnerable. Rangers will be at it this season. If they start by wining at Celtic park BR is really going to be under pressure more so than he was st Liverpool. We can all talk the talk about them not being a threat but they are unbeaten this season and we are losing to average teams, Hearts and AEK. didn't really look great against Rosenborg either. Now let's see if BR can turn this around. Signings are needed to freshen it up and they need to be first team starters. We have better players but its just not hapoening. We need Sinclair back to his best. Griff needs to improve massively. He should have had 2 against AEK. 2 seasons ago he would put those chances away. Moussa needs to get fit. If we get Moussa and Eddy fit and Sinclair plays we are back at the races but right now its very worrying. Drop Lustig. Get a CB in and it should turn around but as we sit here today its not looking great.

14 Aug 2018 08:48:56
Am going for 3-2 with dembele getting the winner in last 15minutes. Show world what United means.

Seymourgames

1.) 14 Aug 2018 11:27:32
Sounds like a good game.

12 Aug 2018 16:35:31
Make a predication I believe McGinn will be sold after this first year and I wouldn't be surprised if a top 4 team Epl buys him for silly money.

Seymourgames

1.) 12 Aug 2018 16:43:48
Any chance of putting a filter on the name McGinn ed so it comes up person. Sick to death hearing the guys name. He's gone time to move on.

2.) 12 Aug 2018 16:52:57
I'm with you on this stevie!
If we signed him imo he would be a squad player and everyone's going on like he's messi
I hope the boy goes on to have a good career but he's NEVER imo going to end up at a top 4 team unless it's on the plays playstation
Celtic have tried to get him on the cheap as I would have done but moved to slow after villa made there move and I can see why BR isn't happy.

3.) 12 Aug 2018 17:19:29
I make a prediction that your prediction is a pile of dung.

4.) 12 Aug 2018 17:20:52
lol when we’re linked with him half the support says he’s not good enough but when another team signs him he becomes a CL player.

Calm down. He won’t be going to a top 4 epl team.

We should have signed him yes, but the club won’t get all of them right. There’s been plenty of players we all wanted the club to sign that ended up becoming bang average players.

5.) 12 Aug 2018 17:33:23
I'm still upset we never signed McFadden never mind McGinn 😂.

6.) 12 Aug 2018 17:58:16
PMSL Stan I see you can't let things go easily. Mind you I'm still pissed off we never got Stanley Matthews a few years back 😂😂.

7.) 12 Aug 2018 18:03:28
Agree about the filter it's getting tiresome now lol.

8.) 12 Aug 2018 18:18:43
Wish we'd had the squad player yesterday.

9.) 12 Aug 2018 20:32:37
I am not pissed off not getting McGinn but how many players have we missed for the sake of a few hundred grand and the come the end of the window make signings like Comper. To not have a centre half lined up given the situation with Boyata is just wrong and the same with Armstrong.

10.) 12 Aug 2018 23:20:15
Can I make a prediction, McGinn will be out on Ian season 2019-20.

11.) 13 Aug 2018 01:21:49
McGinnitis best cure for it is not too give a flying feck. let's all move on now, nothing to see here. We are still talking about a Trebleution and I cannot wait to play the tribute act. We have some dishing out to dish out.

12.) 13 Aug 2018 10:05:57
Am still upset we never got a young Messi lol.

10 Aug 2018 02:02:59
The draw on Wednesday made the return game difficult not impossible. Like anything in this world if you work hard enough you can achieve. Celtic have 90mins to achieve. I just think there will be uncertainty from this team but it's a good team with great management. The board will have to put money in pocket. I can see return being close but I just see celtic winning late winner. Call me optimist.

Seymourgames

1.) 10 Aug 2018 08:45:21
I'm a bit confused at all the comments from Wednesday saying how bad we were. I thought we totally dominated the game and had we been at our best upfront we would have put the tie to bed. It will take a very good performance to win over there but it can be done. Having Dembele or Griffiths back in would be a huge boost. We have to go for it and that's when i believe we will be at our best and more than capable of scoring.

2.) 10 Aug 2018 08:50:57
I think your right Seymour we will stand up and be counted then the new additions will come in and we will be heading for the treble treble and good showing in Europe this season.

3.) 10 Aug 2018 09:29:32
Well said Nickybhoy, a bit of positivity on here for a change. You wouldn't think we have just come off a double treble and still in Europe listening to some morons on here 👏👏.

4.) 10 Aug 2018 09:47:32
Glad you n Kev post on here Stevie cos I’ve been biting ma tongue 👍🍀.

5.) 10 Aug 2018 10:08:40
Not like you welshy you and Ed have been holding fire.

{Ed007's Note - What's the point, the same people who were lambasting the idea of John McGinn are now moaning because we didn't sign him. No matter what happens these people will moan and troll the site with their constant negativity. The live chat's never as busy as it is when we're not winning a game.... they're never happier than when things aren't going well.
You know the type, we've all had the misfortune of sitting beside these type of people at games over the years.}

6.) 10 Aug 2018 10:44:45
Well I wanted McGinn and I think it’s ashambkes we let him slip through our fingers. People who are saying gexwasnt good enough etc are talking rubbishe. As I said in another post, Rogers has reiterated all we said about this failure to act. Do we not agree with the manager now it’s not negativity to point out we are taking risks we shouldn’t. Happy clapping and trying to focus on the end of the window when we needed to move to ensure we weren’t looking in from the outside is the problem.

We aren’t out but we have made it harder and anybody who didn’t see that coming are either kidding themselves or really can’t see what thecsutuation is. Rogers can. I will stick with his assessment if needibg players in as soon as. Not one of his additional players wanted are here. Trying to say pointing that out as wrong is negative is nonsense.

7.) 10 Aug 2018 10:39:58
It's not even the point if they wanted McGinn. The manager wanted him and the board failed the manager.

As for Wednesday, no it doesn't mean we are out. The fact we were "all over them" is barely true.

They are a defensive side, only conceded 12 goals in their league last year. Their tactic is to allow you possession and counter attack.

Hence why we spent the 2nd half passing it sideways. They were dictating us with that, not the other way about. With 10 men.

8.) 10 Aug 2018 10:40:19
Couldn’t agree more mate tbh John McGinn wouldn’t have got in the team on wed night a fell out with the old man last night he thinks Rodgers is trying to work his ticket out and how we have blown the chance to bury them over the water where as I think we will do it on Tuesday with the mousassin playing a part.

9.) 10 Aug 2018 10:46:58
I said it on the live chat and I still believe it ed.
Some Celtic fans on this page seem desperate for us to slip up to the can shout, scream, say told you so and come out against the board.

{Ed007's Note - Oh definitely, Kev, of that I have no doubt. You could set your watch to them appearing on the live chat.}

10.) 10 Aug 2018 11:35:08
There’s someone that’s actually played football on 1 of the posts btw! He said we are goosed.

11.) 10 Aug 2018 11:40:27
Yup ed. Few times we've lost a goal and someone has put here they come. Seconds later they all appear. Celtic pick up and they all disappear again.

{Ed007's Note - At least I'm not the only one that notices it.}

12.) 10 Aug 2018 11:44:24
Who would you all drop to play mcginn. I wouldn't have him in my team before our first picks and I only seen him play for hibs against us. But he certainly wouldn't be a first team pick.

13.) 10 Aug 2018 11:48:09
I just feel we could be in a better position than we currently are in regards to signings and effectively improving the team. A lot at stake in these qualifiers. We aren't any better.

14.) 10 Aug 2018 11:54:09
cannot get my head round the outcry ed 60% on here didn't want the bhoy and now they're going tonto.

{Ed007's Note - Like I said, it's just any excuse to whinge and moan mate.}

15.) 10 Aug 2018 12:08:08
CalMac Ntcham Brown would be first names on my team then the rest can fight it out. Was a couple of seasons ago CalMac was being slated and many said not good enough for us. Thank goodness we don’t have them picking the team.

16.) 10 Aug 2018 12:28:18
Ed can you imagine what the live chat will be like if hearts score first tomorrow?

{Ed007's Note - Sadly I can, Kev.}

17.) 10 Aug 2018 12:34:48
Or maybe we want the right things done at the right times at the club so we don't slip up

and when we do slip up, of course we are going to say told you so.

basically we aren't allowed to say anything negative about Celtic even if it's true then. If yer proving correct, yer proven correct.

Take no joy in it, but we want best for Celtic and in key areas it's not been good enough for a long time.

18.) 10 Aug 2018 12:50:07
No one says your not allowed to say anything negative. I have said plenty myself. Especially about Craig Gordon. But many on the page only have negative to say. They only turn up on the live chat when things are not going well. They seem to revel in it.

19.) 10 Aug 2018 13:25:45
But live chat is also fun and full of banter folks if you have never ventured over please do so because the craic can be top notch

Take Kev here he is the only world record holder on live chat The only man to have got his end away twice and ended up with FOUR Weans from it :-P (Y)

20.) 10 Aug 2018 14:04:51
And if you have a dug, especially an auld one your doubley welcome.

21.) 10 Aug 2018 22:37:25
We've gone away to Anderlecht, Man City, Monchengladbach, Rosenborg and not been beaten. I honestly don't rate AEK above those teams so we can sure as hell go to Greece and get the result we need. Everybody is writing us off, including our own supporters, so BR should drill that into the players and get a siege mentality going and prove all the doubters wrong.

25 Jul 2018 16:34:58
Celtic are big team but financial don't weigh up. Doesn't matter how money million we have celtic need to be astute in signings. Teams still assessing who they want in there squads if you go in too early could cost more than you willing to pay? Am sure signings will come just wait see who comes in. I do think one or two signings are in place just a matter of time? What happens in Europe might be crucial.

He's young and inexperience shows but I think that's why B. R bought him. He's a coach man manager works with players to get best out of them. I just think he's going be a great player.
