Merry Christmas Ed and the rest of the guys.
I don't post much but enjoy reading most days. Thanks for all your hard work and banter this year.

Parkheeder

{Ed007's Note - Thanks mate, merry Christmas to you. Your New Year resolution is to get posting more often and get involved in the madness.}

Hey! Here’s a question for the guys that think we should be the sort of club that sacks a manager after one defeat.

If we did sack Lennon on Wednesday morning we would have no manager right now. We were never going to get Benitez or Mourhino, probably would have Steve Clarke but he’s got Scotland job now.

So who would we employ as a new manager?
Parkheeder

1.) 16 Aug 2019 19:53:54
We should have done everything in our power to get Clarke when Rodgers left👍.

{Ed007's Note - There was nothing that could have been done to get Clarke to come in.}

2.) 16 Aug 2019 20:16:12
Clarke never had the minerals to manage Celtic.

3.) 16 Aug 2019 20:18:55
I wouldn’t sack him. He has to be giving a chance to get his own team together. But come on. he has made some shocking decisions from when he was temporarily in charge.

4.) 16 Aug 2019 20:51:35
Clarke didn't want the baggage that would come with the job. Ed007 for the job when Neil leaves🤑.

5.) 16 Aug 2019 21:38:15
There were managers out there that looked like great fits in the summer but we didn't even look.

My pick was Phillip cocu.
He was out of work
He knows how to build teams to win leagues and trophies
He has European experience
He is good at bringing youth through
He was well within reach.

Ended up at derby.

Dan Petrescu?

15 Aug 2019 19:37:03
I didn’t agree with Neil Lennon appointment but he’s here. If we were to sack him now we would be sacking a manager after one defeat, that would be ridiculous. At least we know Neil Lennon is a true Celtic man unlike the Rat.

Parkheeder

1.) 15 Aug 2019 19:50:31
I'm a true celtic man does that mean I'm qualified for the job?

2.) 15 Aug 2019 20:10:16
Yet left us before?

3.) 15 Aug 2019 20:13:19
Can you play left back Dc.

4.) 15 Aug 2019 20:23:38
I take you don’t think Lennon is qualified for the job. Like I say I didn’t agree with the appointment but I’ll support him, even after one defeat. Did you think he was qualified in 2012, when we beat Barcelona 2-1 at Parkhead? These things happen in football. Did Barcelona sack their manager and board after that game.

5.) 15 Aug 2019 20:44:53
WOW You did see the formation and the substitutions our great tactician made in that game? That was enough to get Any manager the sack.

6.) 15 Aug 2019 20:49:44
I like to see myself more as a fox in the box ged lol.

And honestly parkheeder yes technically he is qualified as he has the required badges etc but I have never believed and still don't ever believe he will be good enough.

7.) 15 Aug 2019 21:59:07
I thought he was a good manager last time out, got us some cracking results in Europe, but I agree we shouldn’t have took him back permanently. But going to support the manager and the team. Even if I wanted us to, football clubs do not a sack Any manager based on the tactics of one match.

8.) 15 Aug 2019 23:59:57
That wasn't the game to tinker and experiment with things. Should've just went with the strongest lineup in the formation they're most comfortable with and then tinker if things didn't go to plan.

9.) 16 Aug 2019 01:05:56
But its not one match is it? Its been a lot more than that. His team selections are abysmal and he can't change a game if its going against us.

10.) 16 Aug 2019 07:28:34
How many games before he's eligible to the sack then?
Out of CL then out of Europa and pumped at ibrox?
Would that do it? Because I can see that coming fast.

I’m not trying to defend Neil Lennon’s team selection or tactics the other night, but I think some of what is being said is a bit harsh.
We were knocked out in cl qualifying last year, with a manager who had been building his squad for 2 years, no one called for him to be sacked, yet the rat started looking for a new club strait away.
Like most I didn’t agree with Lennon appointment, but he’s here.

I know this is a long long shot guys but I was reading about the potential transfer of Mamadou sahko from Liverpool to Crystal Palace. Pool won't budge on the 30m and Palace don't want to pay it. He still has 3 years of contract so Pool could loan him for a year and still ask 30m next year. If the deal doesn't happen and with BR's contacts at Liverpool and him knowing the player, maybe he'd like to come to the greatness club in world for a year. HH.

I wish parkheeder think he's a crackin player. Would love to see him alongside big Simo.

2.) 28 Aug 2017 18:07:14
Can someone explain why Liverpool think he is worth 30 million

They paid what £18 million. He hasn't performed for them, failed a drugs test and they clearly don't rate him.

Surely after the above his value should be more 3 million regardless of whether he is a good player or not.

3.) 28 Aug 2017 18:46:58
He's a decent player but his attitude stinks.

I didn't catch BR saying that dth, but hopefully he's right and we will do some business towards end of the market.
I do remember him saying we would be stronger by the time the qualifiers come round, which I'm unsure if we are, but suppose the injurys haven't helped with that.
I just hope we can get past Astana or it won't be looking good for anymore signings. HH.

Talk sport saying today he's signing on loan with nice cav.
Sky sports haven't reported it so it might be true 😉
Paddy will be home soon!

Well said Tony. We all need to be behind the team and manager.
Remember the team that sacked their manager for losing one game, whilst at the top of the league, me neither.

I find it hard to swallow that happy dude is a new fan, because he doesn’t spend everyday of his life posting on fan sites. Of course fans are going to be more vocal when something’s happening at the club, whether it’s good or bad.
You’re right happy, the zombies should not be as close to us as they seem to be at this early stage of the season, but don’t think it’s going to last. It’s good that our board don’t spend recklessly, but we do definitely need some investment in the club. Football clubs should not be run to make a profit, but to win trophies.

That’s a good shout Paddy!
Not too old as a director of football is more of senior role in the club. His position would be between the manager and directors. He wouldn’t be coaching players so wouldn’t affect the style of football.

You’re right JJ, we all need to stick together and get behind the team and manager. Yes 11.6 mil is good investment in the squad, but minus 13.4 mil is not so good.

LB RB and Holding midfielder, maybe a big CF. Don’t think we need a lw, we should sign that Scott Sinclair, he comes to watch a lot of our games.
