Brendan Rodgers virtually assured supporters that new signings would be recruited to “help the squad” this January. I hope that he means players who will almost immediately displace current 1st team picks because we have an abundance of squad players who have failed to impress. I was impressed with Michael Johnstone’s close control and determination on Sunday. Perhaps we need just one more striker?

Was at the game today and a young guy from Canada (Hamilton Ontario, Ian) introduced himself and said that this was his first visit to Celtic Park. His enthusiasm for Alastair Johnston did not disappointed as I felt that he (Johnstone) might easily have been awarded MOTM. What I noticed was that Johnstone, O’Reilley and Kuhn were forming triangles with Kuhn expected to make the telling pass. This was where the constructive contribution of of the triangle broke down. I was disappointed today in Khu’s contribution especially after some recent decent performances.

Khun is bang average, I go to every home game and I also watch games back but the support on here for Khun, Taylor, Scales astounds me as the 3 of them should be nowhere near 1st team, the support for Taylor is beyond belief a terrible terrible player no pace can't defend can't pass I hope him and scales are replaced rapid.

Taylor and Scales both divide the support, many think they are weak links and shouldn’t be playing . However I see it different, many of our opponents often target both, who may not seem to be the classiest but surely Taylor has been lb for a number of seasons . Ange and BR both know their players and neither would have a player anywhere near team if he wasn’t good enough . At the start of season Scales would have been no where near pitch but through necessity BR had to use Scales . Game after game Scales settled in and formed a solid centre defence partnership with CCV . Whenever CCV is fit and playing Scales has played well, when he isn’t no matter what partnership we have problems in defence.

Ange seems to think deeply into every question that is put to him. Pre-match it was inferred by the interviewer that the unavailability of certain players was the driver for todays inclusion of Mooy and Forest. No. he replied, the incoming players have something different to offer and are part of squad rotation. The interviewer is probably correct but Ange batted that off to fully support the incoming players. I like that.

He makes them look like tossers. Agenda laden tossers.

Like Timalloy and Johnbhoy71, I would like to see Callum McGregor rested to protect him from further injury to his face. There are probably others out there who like bfkb might that his vulnerability is something to target. I do think though, that this decision will be down to Callum and because of that, I think that he will play. As an aside, as I opened the site this evening, there was a video playing of the Lenoxtown training facility with the derelict Lennox Castle in the background. I was born in the castle as it was at one point a maternity hospital.

A stay near it and you milngavie celt it’s terrible the way it’s lay in ruin but the horror stories from it are unreal! Celtic have apparently bought up some land and houses around it that look on to training ground so there can be no planning objections if ever there’s an extension to the training ground.

Agree MC, Motherwell have history of rough housing our players and getting away with it. I'd definitely sit Cal out on this one. We got Rogic and Bitton back although wouldn't mind seeing McCarthy get a game. He's got some dig for these kind of games.

At 2 nil up in a European away tie, we shouldn’t need to prioritise a third goal. we need to prevent the opposition from scoring. Ange has a reputation for developing players but he also needs to personally develop when it comes to defensive strategy. Having said that.4-3 who saw that coming? Really entertaining, although ultimately disappointing.

I'd rather we lost 1-0 or 2-1 than 4-3. It shows our defence for what it is. Shocking! HH.

2.) 16 Sep 2021 20:55:13
Our away record is awful we just can't defend, as av said its no use being great going forward when you can't keep weans out a close, ccv poor at one of the goals should step up, soro God knows what the jog with the arms behind his back was all about, the 4th not one defender charged the ball and there was ccv starfelt and monty all there that's the facts and that's why why we are pointing that out, because its the facts.

Giaomakis at 6’ 1” is as tall as any of the Celtic defenders. I hope that he can help out when under attack by set pieces. It’s clear that Celtic can’t out jump guys like Helander and Goodson, so they need to learn how to block their attacking runs from corners and free kicks. That is TRFC core strength.

Here’s my update. Celtic won’t spend £7M on him, but we do need another striker in that mould introduced during this upcoming transfer window.

Gil Scott Heron.

{Ed007's Note - That's his son the singer, it's actually Gilbert Saint Elmo Heron. I remember reading that years ago and it's just always stuck in my mind with all the rest of the useless information and broken bottles in there. I'd love the bottle to go on something like The Chase.}
