I am 53yrs and my football education was my dad taking me to watch specific opposition players in European teams in the Jungle. His brother played with our reserves. I miss hiss insight and knowledge.

I completely agree with lambert with his comments tonight though, he spoke about Celtic in danger of settling for second best as a club. We also need some men in the team to take control, we are too nice a team to play against.

Thoughts on inverted FBs?
I understand creating the overload around the pivot when are attacking. No problem with that. Allows the two forward in MF (Rogic and Turnbull) to play between the lines in a forward sense. All good going forward.
Problem comes when we are high up the park in that formation and opposition break. We are then exposed quickly in wide FB positions. So they / one retreat to try to cover that - EMPTYING THE MF. Our issue others is that Turnbull and Rogic do not double back to plug that gap. Watch it. So we literally end up with our pivot as only MF.
Amateur tactics. Same as kenny world.

If we had a quality DM in there to help the CBs cover it wouldn't be an issue. Problem is we didn't replace Brown. For me McGregor isn't the answer. I much prefer him going forward.

I agree from a football sense, but a 2 year endow keeps the heat off an unaccountable board. That’s the problem. We need football people running the club supported by accountants…. Not the other way about (as it is just now) … ref Bayern Munich.

There is a reason top teams play 4-3-3 (without inverted full backs) . Even Pep doesn’t play it to the extent he is exposed in FB positions. There are moments when it is the right thing to do. Amateur tactics.

Totally agree 100%. Celtics and Rangers have pick of all best youth in Scotland but can’t even identify or nurture them. We have people running a football club who are not capable.
