Ed, heard Raymond Sparkes was called in for a meeting last Thursday with PL, u heard anything issues with backroom staff (JC) or a move for Malky?

Jsean1989

{Ed007's Note - I have not, sorry.}

I personally think he would be a decent appointment but I can't see it . With his old baggage and possible more to come out the press up here would have a field day with him. All the previous stuff would be associated to the club by the press and it would be a lot of pressure to be under.

Celtic to win the league at a canter this year.

Ange looks to be getting the boys well drilled, a few signings in the door and fans on the road to get back into Parkhead ☘️

On watching the Euros we go fo worse than look at players like Emerson atChelsea. Signed for £2m, not playing yet had a decent Euro competition.

There are good players out there that don't cost the Earth it's just finding them!

Here we go 1 in a row 😂.

Jsean 1989. 1 in a row that will be 55 then.

2.) 16 Jul 2021 07:04:47
Thought the team drfted back into the sideways backwards slow build up on Wednesday. maybe just a bit tired with 3 games and preseason work.

3.) 16 Jul 2021 11:24:29
Emerson cost Chelsea 18 million and he's pish at best. Would also cost about 20 mil to buy him from Chelsea at any rate anyway.

4.) 16 Jul 2021 11:26:12
Pretty sure we thought this last year, one step at a time.

Celtic we the much better team today, head and shoulders above them in class.

Firstly Big Julien - rubbish according to Kris Boyd and would weaken our defence, today he was a colossus. Every tackle, header, pass - man of the match deserved.

Big Tam - our own posters slating the big fella before he even kicked a ball. Solid in every game and today he could have played the game with a 3 piece suit on - strolled it!

Boli - Has settled in and will be a very good player, maybe not as defensively strong as Tierney but still very good signing. Again today great game - another written off by others and of course a player who weakened our defence according to Kris Boyd.

Midfield - dug in, showed class and harried every rangers player. Browns legs have gone btw 🙄

Eddie - I am seeing hints of Henrik, his hold up, intelligence, finishing and his unselfish play. Just hope we can hold him for 1-2 more years this boy will be a star if he continues to progress.

Finally Neil Lennon, I have given him the support and was happy he got the job, today is a day to say well in Sir. He fecked it against Cluj and it did raise doubts but he referenced a bad 45mins today and in fairness that's what it was. His signings and backing from the board lead me to think the league is secure and with some luck maybe. just maybe a run in the Europa might be on the cards.

Today was a good day 🎵
Beautiful Sunday 🎶 ☘️

Hickey was another left back let go, same as Andy Robertson. I think he has the potential to be just as good.

If Celtic were to go in with£1.5m I think it would be great business for a young scottish left back with bags of potential.

I wouldn't mind Hickey as back up to a more senior left back like Monreal from Arsenal who I believe is available for a relatively low price c£3m someone in here said.

If we got those two in and looked at Ibe (far fetched) or a hardworking hard tackling midfielder I would be pretty content.

El Hamed - who was slated on here before joining looks a player, Ajer has slotted in at RB very well when asked and we still have Ralston for SPFL games - really is his time to buck up and prove he has what it takes.

Thoughts?

This is on the basis Taylor, Melling and all other names Cofuentes, RB from Olympiakos etc fall through.

Jsean1989

1.) 27 Aug 2019 17:39:32
We couldn't afford Monreal's wages. Ralston isn't good enough either. Moving Ajer away from CB means playing our best defender out of position.

2.) 27 Aug 2019 19:00:33
Well if they are now saying ajer is and can play right back shows the cheap penny show at Celtic. They are will to move the best CB to RB when needed and a CM to CB in bitton rather than spend money on improving the positions. As said monreal wages would be too much and Ralston seems to have gone backwards. God help us if we don't get new players. A few injuries in defence and we are in serious trouble with little or no replacements.

Today was the first time I've started thinking it's not Lennon for next year.

I have always loved what he did for the team as a player and manager. Delivered some success and what he lacked in ability made up for in passion but today the latter seemed to be missing and as such it's time to move on.

Looking at the game very early on I think most supporters seen Rogic was ineffectual, Burke poor and Mikey struggling.
When Lustig goes off a few options:
1) Sinclair - go 3 at the back and flood midfield which we were losing the battle. Push Burke up one.
2) Benkovic - again 3 at the back push Hayes on one.
3) Ralston - straight swap who is a bit more physical and would cope with Kent.

Or do what Lennon did, I think Toljan was the worst option as he offers nothing in attack or defence.
Lennon failed to change the game and only with the introduction of Ntcham did Celtic start playing quicker and sharper.

There's also a horrific rumour that Moyes and his agent brother have been in Glasgow for a while attending our games. Hopefully it's just coincidence and he's getting Scotland job.

Anyway point is, Neil failed to inject any fight into the team (granted it shouldn't be needed against them) , failed to change the game (when clear to all the issues) and his once well known passion seemed gone.

There's a big job ahead in terms of restructuring the squad - if Lennon is the man he needs to buck up his ideas.

We are Champions and this game was for bragging rights only but it still hurts to lose in the manner we did.

🍀.

Good post mate. I don't fancy Moyes but would take him over Lennon. On paper he's not a bad option though. Did well with zero funds at Everton and was hand picked by Sir Alex for United. Yes he failed but so have a lot of big name managers with big budgets since. I wouldn't judge anyone on a stint abroad as it's a difficult thing to do and Sunderland was a club in disarray well before Moyes turned up.

2.) 12 May 2019 19:59:34
Toljan has to be one of the worst defenders I have seen tbh.

It's like he's not trying. Has anyone seen him sprint?

He's like a 7 stone boy as well.

Ralston is twice the player of him, no idea how he got a move to Dortmund.

3.) 12 May 2019 20:11:22
Yet Lennon stuck him on and left Ralston sitting on the bench.

4.) 12 May 2019 22:17:24
So did Rodgers yet he's a god apparently?

21 Mar 2019 21:35:17
Hopefully now we can all agree Scott McKenna is one of the worst central defenders to play for Scotland and it is now evident he has zero pace, limited awareness, poor passing, poor in the air and overall just a very substandard player.

Jsean1989

1.) 21 Mar 2019 22:33:25
Ideal replacement for boyata then 😆.

2.) 21 Mar 2019 23:39:02
Cart horse doesn't even come close. How can the sheep slap a multi million quid price tag on him? He's gash.
There is far better quality out there, that's what scouts are for. Do we have any scouts left?

3.) 22 Mar 2019 00:05:58
A positive to BR leaving, McKenna will never be playing for us.

4.) 22 Mar 2019 06:15:01
He is garbage and I wouldn't even pay 100k for him. He is an inferior Stephen McManus.

Based on reports of Celtic paying £40k p/ w for Ibe, probably similar for Benkovic in addition to the purchase ) £3-5m for melling i can't see it all happening.

If we got Melling and strengthened the middle of the park with a fighting cdm/ cm i would be delighted - or if Koassi could get fit and play a few games let us see if he's has it or not. I hold out some hope for him :)

I would take this rumour with a pinch of salt, can’t see Lawwell disrupting the team further before the end of the season after what Rodgers did then the news of Billy and Stevie over the past week.

Maybe he was just a bid down after everything that’s happened and frustrated that the team are playing pish.

I would hazard a guess this is pure jobbies.

Why when Gordon is fit and first choice.
We have Bain as back up.

We have higher priority areas needing looked at than goalkeeper.

A RB, CB, CM (to replace Armstrong) , Winger (replace PR) .

Buzz May be challenging but can you dig out number of fouls committed during time between red cards?

The reason, I am sure under Brendan Celtic Gad a very low fouls against count answers a very clean team. Rangers on the other have always had 1:2 players susceptible to kick outs/ anger moments like McGregor, Kent, Morelos.

Maybe the stats would show even though higher count of fouls they have avoided cards.

Robroy nearly 50k dead, mate you are incorrect.

Most governments are revising their “death” rates as they all lied / falsified death rates.

C.V. has a 99.6% survival rate and a mean death age of 79.

There is no pandemic.

We have been asked to wear masks if fit but not if we have asthma or breathing issues, so that would then suggest masks do inhibit oxygen intake therefore do present a risk.

My preferred group for travel and potential to qualify from would be:

Lazio
Celtic
Wolves
AZ

Hope to avoid any places like Quarabag.

Boli will come good, he obviously was given a license to push forward in Austria with little to defend against.

He has the pace and good attacking attributes, just need to sort his positional/ defensive attributes.
