Been linked with a few players the last few days and formal offers have reportedly been sent to Engels (rejected) Bogusz and Trusty, but I need to address the elephant in the room and ask why are we doing this with days left of the window when we've had millions in the bank? I think it baffles all of us.

I totally understand not every coin we make goes to transfers and wages and I'm not an accountant by any means nor claim to be, but with champions league qualification the past 3 seasons and the money from jota last season is close to the best part of 120m, that's not including any season tickets or the fee from O'Riley.

I find it very naive for the board to wait until so late to try and get deals and rely on the sale of a key player.

Naive is too fair a way to describe the board . inept . penny pinching. not caring. derelict in they're duties . would be more precise.

Looks to me that they have no choice but to pay the price that the selling clubs are looking for this late into the window. They know what's going to happen if they don't get targets over the line, they will be forced to pay over the odds to get them in.

Bogusz was a key player in LAFCs run to the MLS Final. Only came available this weekend. If that’s who Rodgers wants and the board held out for him then is that the board or Rodgers fault?

Engels. We bring him in and doesn’t get a game because Oriley hadn’t been sold yet. Do you think either would be happy sitting on our bench every week?

Trusty, maybe again he’s just become available and the other options we had couldn’t come to fruition.

Myself and many others have been quietly confident we would do some serious business this window. It looks like we will.

Some fans aren’t happy in any instance so it’s impossible to please.

Mick, you have fairly changed your tune, a few weeks ago you were preaching to any bhoy who mentioned lack of transfer activity to be calm. But agree there is no valid explanation for the board delay in my opinion.

A few weeks a go we hadn't lost probably our most valuable asset, O'Riley. We also had a few weeks of the window left, now we're into days. A lot of folk will have changed their tune. I think it's great we've went in for the players mentioned and if we get them all, then on paper it's been a successful window. Quality in rather than usual prospect signings. If however we don't get them over the line in time then it's going to be a very underwhelming window to say the least. And the board will be to blame. Brendan would again be led to false promises. It's already starting to stink of "well we really tried to get them over the line, but selling clubs playing hard ball. We'll still be working hard in the background to hopefully strengthen in January. "
I really hope this isn't the case and we pay the price to get them all in, it's not as if we can't afford them and if reports are correct their more than happy to come to Celtic.
We sign Engles, Bogusz, Trusty and loan LB from Barcelona before the window slams shut, maybe a 3rd choice striker in their too. We start the league stronger than last season, in my opinion, and with already having signed a quality keeper, we'd have the potential to have a somewhat successful champions league campaign, especially with the new format. We live hope that the board pull through in the next 4 days.
