Guys I just can't get my head around appointing Ange after the season we have had which has been nothing but a disaster. We have got the biggest rebuild on that I can ever remember where money looks like it could be a big issue and we look like we are going to appoint someone who has never managed in Europe before it's madness to even take that kind of risk . What kind of player is he going to be able to attract? I can't envisage players going I would love to play under Ange as outside of Europe no one really has heard of him . This guy would do nothing but split the support and for me that is a big thing we need someone with a proven track record who can come in and hit the ground running not an unknown quantity who has never managed in Europe who said it can take between 6 and 12 months for players to buy into his philosophy and ideas and if that's the case he will be out the door in 6months because he won't get that time because half the support already don't want him there and we will be back to square one again.

Bringing in a big name quarentees nothing, look at LVG at man utd, it's not the players he can attract, it's the players he can identify, bringing in well known players, means one thing for sure, your wage bill will go up, we need to get some kind of system in place that brings through our own young players in droves, we might have to accept a few years in the wilderness, but in the long run it will turn out better than trying to buy success and going bankrupt, never again should we get caught in a ten in a row madness, which meant that mediocrity was accepted because of domestic success, success, of a certain degree in Europe.

To me the appointment of Ange is a get it right up you from the board, they don't care about us, all the care about is the money we spend. We need to make a stand and let them know we aren't happy about this. If the appointed this guy months ago I don't think the fans would have been as upset as they are now, but 12 weeks to get down to this guy (who might be a great coach) tells me they put all their eggs in one basket, Favre is out of a job so are numerous other highly qualified managers. I just feel totally let down by the club I love. I feel totally gutted atm. But the thing that really hurts is the way the club is treating us. Like we are a footnote. Sorry for the rant had to get this off my chest. Totally gutted.

I'm not totally against Ange as a manager and not sure I buy all the concerns about the lack of European experience. If - and I know it's an if - it's part of a deal with someone like Harkin coming I think that mitigates the risk a bit as Harkins job is all about knowing the European market and has a great contact book from his work with City.

It's been talked about a lot here - Ange's job should be to coach the team, the DoF or whatever they bring in to support should be more about squad development and recruitment.

I was never a fan of the idea of Howe and while it's left field I think this looks like a better option than MON / Keane - for what it's worth I'd be worried that their time has been and gone. I'd have liked Duff to get involved in the set up, but looking at the options I think Ange might be something different.
