So your laddie is 21 and he's been with a team since he was a bairn, has everything and won so much, paid well and then offered a big life changing contract tripling his salary etc etc (as a Celtic father what would you do)

As a Celtic father you've worked with a company for 10 years have everything and feel well rewarded for the contribution you've made to the success of that business. Some big business comes calling and offers to triple your wages and lots of add on's, family support you and you think you can develop your career even more to further support your family in the years to come!

Get a grip those who are having a go at a young lad who's given everything. Nearly everyone of us would opt for the big business offer. that unless you lack the confidence in your own ability to progress further . KT obviously feels he can!

Imagine having the opportunity to watch your laddie play in one of the biggest leagues in the world (financially ) ! NO BRAINER.

Your on 25k a week, surrounded by friends and family. At your DREAM job. You know the place inside out and in 2 years you will have achieved so much that you will have written your name into history books.
At 25k a week, you can have any house/ houses u want. Any car / cars u want. Set your family up for life.

But u instead choose more money, for an unknown quantity. With no friends or family around? what's the point.

KT was a massive fan of the club and the connection he built with the supporters was incredible. For such a young lad of 18 years old coming through the youth system and to have this instant bond with the fans, changed his life overnight.
He worshipped the fans and the fans treated him like a god.
For such a young man living in the west of scotland, it must have been tough. He wouldn't have got a minute in this fish bowl life. One set of fans loving him and the other non Celtic fans possibly giving him criticism and verbal abuse.
In London he will be recognised but I think he will be able to live a better life away from football. Although his father and he rest of his family are Celtic mad, I would imagine they would feel that KT will also be safer down south.
They will be hoping their young son can live as normal a life as possible because his dad will know fine well these next 2 years are going to be bedlam up in scotland.
If I was KT I would stay but if my son was KT, I would want him to leave.

Ton66 spot on mate. Its disgusting all the abuse he is getting from so called supporters.

Doesnt matter if Tierney is a celtic supporter or not. He has achieved all he is going to achieve in scottish game and deserves right to test himself at higher level.

The harsh reality is that this will become more common the longer we remain in Scotland. Unfortunately Scottish Football is dead, with no prospect of real investment from the big TV companies we will continue to fall behind clubs in the largest leagues in Europe. The gap has never been bigger in terms of financial packages on offer. The question is, would we trade all the trophies for a shot at the EPL? Quit Scotland and start in the lowest division and work our way up.

JungleGaz i like how people think anyone that leaves club its money motivated yet any talk of a player wanting to leave to test himself at a higher level is immediately classed as manure.

If i was 22 and had played over 180 games for club, won countless trophies and awards I would want to test myself at a higher level whilst i still had chance. Selfish of any supporter to slate him for having ambition.

I wish him all the best he gave his ALL for the club when he was here you can't ask for more and can't say otherwise. I can't see the problem with him wanting to better himself Good luck we man.

So you would leave on the verge of 9 and 10 in a row . Ok

And do u think he would have went to arsenal if celtic were paying 85k?

KT was always going to get the chance to try something new, its the timing of it that has surprised many of us.

Yes he still would of went to Arsenal if club was paying 85k and yer head is clearly up your rear if you think he would stay. Playing teams like Hearts, Dundee, Livingston for prime of career and knock back chance to play Man United, Man City, Liverpool etc? Aye right

9/ 10 in a row is no reason for any player to stay.

The timing surprised many of you because you were being naive jungle and thinking his heart would rule his head.
