I would like to give my take on the KT transfer. There are 3 main points I would like to make.

Firstly By agreeing to the Kt transfer it makes clear to supporters that money is the primary motivation of the board.

Secondly this tells players at the club that ambitition is of minor consideration for the Board and moving to a club seeking higher goals is clearly neccessary for their future.

Thirdly It give hope and belief to other clubs that Celtic are defeatable and puts hope in their hearts.
I am sorry to say I can others leaving Jn january and next summer, Bids for Magregor, Ajer, Christie and Edouard are entirely possible which will rip the heart out of the team. Others such as Johnston Shved and Dembele possible future stars could also see the way things are going and leave.

Had the board refused KTs request he may have complained but would undoubtedly continued to give his best he is that kind of player.

PL could have sat every first choice player down and said no one is leaveing until 10 in a row is acheived and then we will allow you to leave for acceptable fees.

This would have sent a clear message to everyone Management, Players, Fans, Opposition and agents about what the real hopes dreams and ambitions of the club. In the meantime second choice players could have been traded for new acqusitions
In the meantime second choice.

Totally agree, however players will always use celtic as a stepping stone for more money in bigger reputation leagues.
We can't do anything to alter that, the view on Scottish football is there for good reason, the gulf in money and class between clubs is huge.
We need to keep finding gems from clubs, growing them, and make money, keep going, keep dominant, that's pretty much all we can be happy with. Hopefully academy players have the drive to make it at the club and have a long career in the green and white, they are the ones we need to sell the idea to, using someone like Scott Brown as the example that you can have a great career at a club where fans will adore you and you can win trophys.
And if in the future we have a strong backbone of players from the academy then I think things will change.
At this time I think the board simply want to the KT money to build the squad for the next 2 seasons, then blood in the youth players and grow from there.
Foreign players will always want to move on that's what happens.

Our business model will always be develop our own for maximum profit if possible or buy in low sell high.

Now for this model to work we have to be a successful team you will not get top dollar for second placed players see Sevco for an example.

The board therefore will do enough to ensure 9 and 10 are delivered, then our team and our players are huge assets.

25m for an academy player was exceptional money for a player playing in what is perceived to be a third rate league.

Lennon is playing his cards well, say you need 5 and then back track slightly as everyone we deal with nill assume we are loaded.

Why not wait and see what transpires if on 2/ 9/ 2019 we are no further forward then we look at the board but nobody on here knows what's going.
